I was referred to Randolph Transmission when I believed that I had a Transmission issue. I spoke to Dave at the shop and he was extremely helpful. He asked questions and answered all of my questions. He was willing to help me try to diagnose the problem by me sending him pictures as he did not want me to send the truck if he could not help, which saved me money. Ultimately I did not use the shop but I would recommend them if you find the need as he was honest and cared about my issue even though it was not in his scope of work. Thank you.
My car's transmission gave up on me mid-ride. Older Honda that I wasn't sure I wanted to dump a lot into. I had it towed and dropped at Randolph Transmission before they opened, just before the last big snow. David was understanding and honest. It turned out to be a relatively inexpensive repair, rather than a transmission replacement. I will ALWAYS use their services!
Took my car to Randolph Transmission based on the great reviews. I did not end up getting my car repaired as the owner David was kind and honest enough to let me know that he did not believe getting the work done on the vehicle would be worth it based on the age and overall condition of the car. I appreciate this place's honesty and integrity, as a lot of other places would simply do the work, charge you, and send you on your way. I will definitely be coming back should I experience any issues on my other vehicles.
I went to Randolph transmission expecting to need a couple thousand dollars worth of transmission work done, based on the symptoms I was experiencing. After a test ride with Dave, he was not sure the problem was transmission related. He used his scan tool to determine that the issue was actually just a bad coil pack. He advised me to head to an auto parts store and get a new coil pack. He even took the time to pinpoint which coil was bad. A half an hour and a hundred bucks later, problem solved! Dave is a man with integrity. He’s focused on helping not just making money. I highly recommend him.
Dave was great, very helpful when I needed my transmission checked. Super fast and easy to work with and informative on what I needed. Will be honest with what you need and make sure you are leaving confident in your car!
Been meaning to write this review for a while...
Dave and his guys were great, picked up my car Monday morning and had the transmission rebuilt by closing on Wednesday, no games, no fuss, just got the work done. He stood behind his work 110%. By chance the TCM he received was defective and gave out 2 weeks later, he came to my house, had the truck towed on his dime, diagnosed the issue and replaced the TCM within 36hrs the Thursday/Friday before the July 4th weekend. He even offered move my boat for me (which happened to be attached to the truck with no drive).
All in all great service, I have called him since and asked an unrelated question and he was very helpful.

Professional, friendly and not just looking to make a buck. In fact, encouraged me to contact vehicle manufacturer first to see if they would give me a deal as a loyal customer.
Do not go anywhere else! Dave is one of the last honest mechanics out there. I thought that I had a transmission issue in my car and Dave took it for a test drive. He said everything was fine. He could have come up with a story that it needed this or that, but Dave is one of the last honest human beings out there and said I needed nothing. He didn't even charge me for the evaluation. This will be my go to guy for any transmission problems or service from now on. Thanks Dave!
I had such a positive experience at Randolph Transmission! Dave analyzed my rear differential leak and fixed it within minutes! And he didn’t even charge me! I recommend his shop highly!
I was highly recommended to Dave at Randolph Transmission. I was worried that my Subaru was on its last leg and panicked about having to buy a new car in short order. I left a message on Sunday afternoon and heard back from Dave 10 minutes after opening Monday morning. He immediately put me at ease. He assured me that the car could be fixed. Given the sensitivity of my job, Dave got to work immediately and had my car ready for pickup in less than 24 hours, at a very far price. Looked around for a shop to rebuild the transmission for my 74 Camaro. After meeting and talking to Dave, I knew he was the one I would put my trust in to do the job. When I realized his shop also does axle work, I asked him to rebuild the almost 50 year old rear axle and upgrade the gear ratio from 273 to 342. The turn around time was fantastic and the cost didn’t break the bank. The Camaro drives like a totally different car now, much quicker acceleration and drives great on the highway. I highly recommend Dave and Randolph transmission.
Dave saved my truck! The Chevy dealership couldn’t even find the problem! He knew what it was immediately. With his 30+ years working with transmissions, he fixed all the weak links in my transmission and made it like new. My car runs like butter now! Dave at Randolph Transmission is easily one of the most honest mechanics you'll ever find.
My mechanic told me that the transmission on my pickup truck was shot, and that I'd need to bring it to a trans shop to be rebuilt. I called around for quotes, but a friend insisted I connect with Dave at Randolph Transmission. Dave's quote to rebuild my transmission was similar to others I'd received (slightly less), but I decided to have him do the work based upon my friend's glowing recommendation. So my truck was towed 25 miles to Randolph on Monday morning at 9am, Dave confirmed receipt, and then a couple hours later he called me to come pick it up. Confused, I asked him how in the world he was able to rebuild a transmission in only a couple hours, when he told me that my transmission was absolutely fine, and that my mechanic had forgotten to fill it with fluid after replacing the radiator.
Honestly, he could've just set about replacing the radiator (as I'd asked him to) without any other pushback and charging me thousands, but instead he took the time to actually inspect and troubleshoot my truck properly. I walked out the door having only needed to pay for a few quarts of fluid.
I really wish I could vouch for Dave as a transmission expert, sadly today I can only vouch for his integrity, which is worth a lot more stars than Google will allow me to put on here.
Dave at Randolph Transmission has definitely won my trust for life and, while I don't necessarily hope to be back soon with a broken transmission, there's certainly no one else I'll turn to first.
Dave is one of the most honest men in the business. I needed a $5000 transmission job but realizing that I was only 2 weeks out of warranty he encouraged me to call the manufacturer first ever though he might loose the job. In the end the manufacturer covered the repair and I have Dave to thank for saving me $5000.
I have been in my own service business for 39
years. I have not run into many people that are as honest and more than stand behind their work!!!

As a retired GM master technician my transmission went bad in my GMC Terrain and they performed a perfect rebuild of my transmission. Would recommend to anyone. Great service and great price also.

My 10 year old minivan could not shift gear well last month, I knew I have to take care of it fast. But boy, those horrible stories online about experience at some "big name" chains quickly turned off my idea of fixing it.
Very fortunately, a neighbor recommended Dave's Randolph Transmission to me, and prompted me to visit his shop. I am glad I did.
Let me say the expertise is at the top, the diagnosis is right on, the charge is very reasonable, and I got my car back in two days, with Dave's warranty ... besides these professional aspects, I want to tell that the most impressive part is Dave's warmth, honesty and pride of work, which is something I havent seen or felt for quite a while. If you see the photos on the wall showing Dave coaching the high school football team, or witness the smiles of the guys working there, you know this shop is different, you know you are with the right guy.
My minivan? It has been running smoothly with no problem whatsoever, feel the same as my other 2009 vehicle -- totally rejuvenlized. Certainly I am happy to save a bundle not buying a new car, and bump up my kid's college fund! Visit the shop, ask Dave, it the best you can get!
Working with Dave and Brian on my particular transmission issue in October 2018 it was amazing.
I experienced a horrible situation on my old 1994 Mercury X-R7 classic car where the radior imploded and contaminated the transmission with coolant .
No doubt it was an ugly mess one of the worst Dave and his team had seen but the team tackled it head on and rebuilt the entire transmission and along the way added new technical functionality as a result of the rebuild.
Dave and his team are amazing and straightforward and are with you every step of the way.

Went there this AM with my Acadia. They spent almost an hour diagnosing my trans. issues, including reading all codes & a test drive. Concluded that there is no current problem. I went on my way, very relieved. I know that if an issue does arise, I will go back. I highly recommend!

Dave is very accommodating. He took time to drive my car aside from being busy in his shop. He's easy to talk to. I described my problems on my Pilot and tries to fix it the cheapest possible before jumping on biggest expensive work. That tells me that this guy doesn't take advantage of his clients. Dave and his shop were great. Had my clutch and some associated parts changed on my car. I have worked on my own car extensively my whole life and have dreaded needing to take my car into a shop to have others work on it, as my standards for a job well done are very high. Dave did a great job on the car and quickly took care of any concerns I might have had. Great, honest, fair priced shop. Rare to find these days. Highly recommend this shop to anyone needing work.

I am not mechanically inclined at all. I easily could have been taken advantage of by what I asked and expected him to do. He was completely honest and saved me a boat load of money on a job that I did not need.

I decided to trust these reviews and was not let down. Showing up at the shop for a diagnosis was free and friendly. I could tell Dave knew what he was talking about. Transmission jobs are expensive for the consumer, and he advised me on all of the options available and their cost. In my case, swapping the whole transmission was the way to go and the price was fair. Dave went above and beyond to make my manual transmission right. David at Randolph transmission is an excellent mechanic. I had an issue with my transmission after getting it flushed from an independent shop in randolph (nightmare). David knew exactly what was wrong and rectified the situation in a timely manner.
