I had a terrible experience with Maaco in Perth Amboy. Working with the manager, Rafael, was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. The job took over 30 days to complete, communication was poor, and there was always an excuse for delays.
Even after the work was done, I continued to have issues and had to bring my car back. When I tried to schedule repairs to fix the unresolved problems, I was met with resistance and poor customer service again from both the manager and the owner.
This business acts like they’re doing you a favor instead of providing a paid service. I do not recommend Maaco in Perth Amboy. Take your vehicle elsewhere to a reputable shop with better service and accountability.
Hello, i was a customer and maaco I got scammed i have 2022 toyota sienna and look what paint they did to my van. Not even a primer to this bumper piant is filling off i was so mad and i wwnt they want me to re pay the paint. I'm letting you everyone know if you want your car to be a nice DESCENT job go to professional bodyshop NOT THIS MAACO GARBAGE.
This was a straight forward process with clear communication and timely responses. I really enjoyed my experience with this collision shop. Didn’t overwhelm me with options and made my damaged car look like new again!
They repaired my car ( Front bumper , radiator, front lamps & some miscellaneous engine work) & Mr Raphael was very nice & professional. Prices are good very professional service.
Maaco did an amazing job on my car — the repair looks fantastic and I’m really happy with the results! Since this was my first insurance claim, I was a little unsure of the process at first and felt communication could have been smoother. A bit more patience and clearer updates would go a long way, especially for new customers. That said, once everything was complete, I couldn’t be more pleased with how great my car looks. I would definitely recommend Maaco for the quality of their repair work.
Mediocre work… We left the car for painting and some minor details. They called us to pick it up, and it had unfinished parts. The finished parts were done with very little professionalism, and they didn’t even bother to clean it upon delivery. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.
Got my 2005 Black Odyssey EXL repainted with some minor body work fixes; replaces rear lights. I have few paint chipped and sunburned areas - those were covered nicely post-repainting. Overall this Perth Amboy location; specifically Mr Ali I worked with is reliable and kept the promise and assurances while taking the repainting job. I am satisfied and happy with the outcome. All interior was cleaned and no paint smell, any stain, debris etc. Vehicle delivered as promised under 5 days. Minor tailgate light connection issue was fixed promptly by Tech. Also post 2 weeks I found my roof crossbar plastic covers flew off during heavy wind overnight; took back and same nice Tech glued back; no charge. Mr Ali and this Tech in particular, acted professionally every stage. I will update may be after year how repainting work holds. Thank You Maaco, Mr Ali and this Technician, plus whole crew.
Fair price compared to others. Honda pilot roof was painted . Time will tell how long it will hold. However , they didn’t wash the full car which was a disappointment specially when residue from masking tape was still there.
This place is terrible. 3 tries to fix my company car. The fleet manager chose the shop, I would never bring a personal car here. First 2 times fixing a door ding and couldn’t get the paint right on the drivers door and there were visible blend lines, first time you could still see the ding. They nailed my company for the 3rd try by selling them a new door skin. Picked it up today and due to the rain can’t evaluate the paint but they did more damage than they fixed. Pics attached. Check out how they left the drivers mirror, compare it to the passenger side mirror. Grease on both seats, damaged the molding, ding on the new skin, interior was filthy and scratched the heck out of the door molding in multiple places. I hope my company sues them and has a real body shop do the repairs.
I have never left a bad review for a business, so this is saying a lot. I brought my truck to have body work and paint done April 29th. I was told 5-6 days to receive it back finished. I received a call a MONTH later saying the truck is “finished” I pull in the lot and the truck is painted but no body work was done. The jambs mirrors and front bumper were not painted which was supposed to be done. So now they say they’re gonna fix it and have it back in a week. A week later the truck is “finished”again. I go to the shop. The truck looks better but still not very happy with the work. There’s a lot of imperfections and parts of the body that should have gotten body work but didn’t. Mind you I didn’t opt for the cheapest package they have. On top of all that, the battery died in the shop from having the doors open so long they tried to jump start it and hooked the cables up backwards and blew my alternator fuse. They also cracked my dashboard somehow. Now here’s the best part, after all the trouble I went though I didn’t even get offered a discount on the work. I’m disgusted with this place and don’t even know how they’re in business. Save your money go elsewhere
I took two cars here. Drips on my one car. I work don’t have time or money to spend another two weeks for painting so I’ll take the loss they weren’t horrible anyway even if I didn’t pay for the drip marks. Second car paid for new replacement parts. Turns out they bondo and stapled my old parts together then just painted over them. starting to see cracks forming. Why try and get over on people? Keep my vehicle extra long telling me you guys are waiting for parts and then I find this out? Shame on this place. Wanted something nice let smiles and reassurances from this place blind me. That’s what I get for going the cheap route.
Got my 2020 Honda Civic painted do to a failed detailing job prior Ali gave me a fair estimate and the paint job and body work is awesome thus far. Will recommend the premium package guys 5 yrs warranty is a ease of mind. And they put extra effort into the overall outcome. Ali you the man if I ever need anything down the line I’m coming to you guys thanks
Very professional and they work with you. I wish I had before and after pictures, but take my word. They did a incredible job repairing damage to my front bumper. You can't even tell. I plan to return to them to have my car touched up with a fresh paint job. $700+ and change, it was worth it.
I took my 2019 Toyota RAV4 for some body repairs. I am super happy that they made my car look like the accident never happened. The manager and the office staff were very helpful and professional. I would definitely bring my car back here if anything else needs to be repaired and would recommend this body shop to my family and friends. I am also satisfied with the price they gave me, it was much cheaper than other body shops. Thank you so much for making my car look brand new!
Pleasantly surprised with the results. I went for the one step urethane and integrated clear coat in one which was the middle of the road paint job. Came out very glossy and you can see the pearl specs. I was expecting it to come out much more flat and dull for the price point. Everyone I dealt with at the Perth Amboy location was very friendly and professional. It did take a few more days for them to finish than I was originally told but for me this was not a big deal since the car was not my daily driver. It is now :)
I've been going to maaco for years. They have worked and painted 3 of my cars and it's always what i expect or better. Melissa at the maaco in woodbridge/perth amboy was super helpful and she made me comfortable with what they were going to do. The job was exceptional and I loved it like I always have. Highly recommended for anyone who needs body work or paint done on their car.
They told me my parts would be in in a few days. Boy we’re they wrong. They came in the next day and did the work the day after. I always use them for all of my auto body needs and they have never let me down. I will recommend them to anyone I know!
I bring my car to start getting the work it badly needs. There costs we're very fair. The agents we're very honest and knowledgeable. I only have pics after I was hit. I don't mind posting before and after. On star ratings. I think it's fair to only rate on there experience, there prices for now until my car is finished.
I am absolutely furious with this establishment. I brought my other car here without fail many years ago this is why I was a returned customer. However, recently I was involved in a hit an run in which my passenger side mirror was broken. This particular mirror has a camera attached to it. I received a quote from Maaco and proceeded. This is where they deceived me. They replaced the mirror, however the failed to tell me they did not have the “equipment” to calibrate my camera. When I picked up the car they advised me to go to Honda to have them calibrate it! Honda charges a minimal of 300 dollars to calibrate mirrors. As Maaco promote themselves as professional- why would they fail to give me this information. I do not feel I should pay the full amount considering half of the work was done. This is the Perth Amboy, NJ location.
I have been using Maaco for some years now. A friend of mine owned the Maaco and I used his services regularly until he permanently shut down the business. I searched for another location and came across this one. The experience was very positive. The manager, Raph runs a tight ship. He was very friendly and the work looks great. They did a great job color matching and blending. I would recommend and will use again as needed. Tom A.

I was extremely relieved with the way the staff dealt with my situation. I haven't had the need for collision repair in a long while. Mohammad was thorough with his estimate, without trying to make other repairs on this 2004 Jetta. He made me feel comfortable about my decision to go with Maaco. Raphael was the person I dealt with for scheduling and pickup...WHAT A PLEASURE. He was outside washing the vehicle and waiting for my arrival. They made an annoying situation as pleasurable as possible. Thank you for a great job!
Im happy with the repairs done on my vehicle, Marco did a great Job. However, the per son at the front desk, Rafael, was extremely rude. He has zero customer service skills. He never offered us to take a seat, he didnt e ven acknowledge our presence...another worker had to point out that we had waited a while. He made rude comments about other workers, and when i expressed how concerned we were about being carless for a few days, he said that wasnt his problem. He has ver y unprofessional to say the least.
First of all, the positive reviews are usually short. But the negatives are extremely long and once you read them you can read thru the lines. I had a good experience not perfect but the price was extremely good. Like the one comment half the price of the competitors. I will always use them and hopefully all the other Maaco's are the same. I was promised a certain time but they really accommodated my time. They were great with following up and you have to understand that a busy shop is going to have some time restrains but the overall experience was good.
My mechanics recommended this place to me. But I went to other body shop to estimate cost first, then came to Maaco. I found out this shop's estimate is almost half price of the others. I also saw they have lots of business. So I decide to use this Maaco. In 2 days they finished the repair which the other shop needs 6 days. The job is well done. I am very happy.
