I've bought a Kioti compact tractor and a Kioti zero turn mower from Kollmers. Russ is great to deal with. I'm a newbie to this stuff. Russ has answered lots of questions, given me advice and explained a lot to me. He has taken time to answer questions I had even after the sale. The guy in parts is also good. I have and would recommend Kollmer equipment to anyone looking for powered equipment. Update June `26: Parts support has been excellent for the Kioti tractor and zero turn mower I purchased from them. Their system has your equipment tied to your name so you don’t have to give them make, model and year every time you need something. They are happy to ship parts after a credit card payment, making it as convenient as possible for DIY maintenance. The shop has a cell phone that pictures can be texted to for the purpose of identifying an issue or particular part.
The 17hp Kawasaki engine of my 26 year old Scag walk behind finally died. I called Kolmer and they picked up my mower a few days later. Less than a week later they returned it with a brand new motor. It's like having a brand new mower again. They treated me very fairly and their work was perfect. Can't rate them any better. Two thumbs up for this dealer!
2025 I guess its been at least 7 years now, one mower, new chainsaw, two baggers. For what its worth, I have cheaped out on many things like getting a tractor but Kollmers is always nice to me. Stephen will respond to customers phone or email faster than anyone on the planet, this is huge. Thank you

I have a scag walk behind mower I bought new 26 years ago. The place I bought it from went out of business long ago. I've tried using several local mower mechanics over the years, but was never happy with them. Some of them just outright lied to me about what was needed (like an engine rebuild). All of them took forever to fix my mower. So, I decided to try my local deal, Kollmer Equipment. They pick up my mower on Friday of last week, and had it back to me today. They found all sorts of stuff that was done wrong by other so called mechanics. They did a fantastic job fixing my mower and returned it in quicktime. So, Russell, if you are reading this, many thanks for the fine service.
Kollmer equipment has great prices, Great service department and absolutely wonderful to deal with. My family has been conducting business with this company for decades. It’s been 3 generations of the Kollmers and they are absolutely incredible folks…. I had the pleasure of shopping at Kollmer for a Scag Lawnmower. Russ was very helpful and made the process a breeze. Our mower was delivered during the pandemic and as they couldn’t preform the usual “demonstration” they said any questions, please give us a call. We returned to purchase a bagger and again the process was easy! As we were installing that on our own, again they offered help anytime. I’d recommend to any and everyone! Well, maybe not my neighbor across the street, don’t come here Craig! (Our lawn has to be better)
Bob and Russ have helped me many times over the years. My Dad bought our first commercial mower from Bob’s father in 1973. We are fortunate to have this long time family business to deal with.
I was having a problem with my Toro Z500 mower. The belt kept popping off and getting ripped up in the process. i called Toro's (lack of) customer service department and they told me I needed to visit a local dealer. When I stopped by my first local dealer he told me that was too bad and tried to sell me a new mower. I went to my second local dealer, Kollmer Equipment Co., and brought along the idler arm parts I suspected were causing the problem. At first the salesman told me I needed to bring the mower in so that they could diagnosis the problem. When I told him I brought the parts in, he just shrugged his shoulders. Russ, one of the owners, overheard the conversation and looked over my parts. He immediately confirmed my suspicions that the bushings were bad and he also mentioned the pulley bearings were bad. He had all of the parts in stock and the prices were reasonable. He also provided me with tips on how to take out the bushings since I don't have a press. I have since finished the repairs and I have mowed over 3 acres of tall grass with no problems. Needless to say, Kollmer Equipment Co. is now my first local dealer! Thank you very much.
people who know us know we do not treat people the way Kevin said we did. let me assure all of you there is two sides to every story and little if any of his story is true. i stand behind how my people handling things. and there was no child on the premise when Kevin was trash mouthing all of us. every once and awhile you have to fire a customer. security camera footage available upon request>
1 star is too generous! There are many issues with this place, but the short answer is they are expensive, not very informative and the owner is RUDE.
I have had to get parts for my mower from them multiple times in the past and they have only gotten the proper parts a handful of times. The last straw was when I had issues with a tire on a mower. After months of messing with it myself with no success, I stopped in and they claimed I needed to not only get new WHEELS (not just tires but rims as well) and not just one, but TWO wheel assemblies. Costing me way too much, they insisted there was no other way and that the wheels I had are not made anymore. After purchasing, I found out they still do make these wheels, but I did not even need new ones. They said I could bring them in and return them, "no problem at all." After constant calls with no return calls, I went in in person. The owner comes out cursing up a storm in front of my 4 year old daughter about how I have been kicking this around for too long. I decided I would dispute the charge and just be done with it. As previous reviews have said, I think the owner must have plenty of money, he must not need the business.
My advise is to go to the place that is twice as far rather than go to this place. They have ZERO respect for customers unless maybe you are about to spend thousands on a mower. Again, I advise all to steer clear of these thieves!
Great staff at Kollmer. Very knowledgeable and friendly. No high pressure tactics to buy, no BS either, just straightforward information. Very reputable business. Always consider these folks when buying home and garden equipment.
Just bought a Scag Cheetah from Kollmer equipment, love the machine, but more importantly the guys at Kollmer are great. Russ was very patient and answered my folders worth of questions and closed with a good deal. Bob, his dad, followed up with help with service and parts. Bortom line, buy from a local neighborhood company!
Bob and Russ, the owners, are a father and son team that epitomize a great local merchant. They sell what they service and spend the time to help both commercial and homeowners with their projects. I have been dealing with them for over 15 years and highly recommend them.
Russ was very helpful in getting the right equipment for my needs. As an educated homeowner it was a pleasant experience. I've had no issues with the service department. They come and get my equipment and bring it back when they say they will.
If I could give zero stars I would. Like the last reviewer stated, these folks don't care. I asked them to just check my blower for me and let me know the issue. I would pay for the Diag time. I told them I had already replace a few of the parts, but it still wasn't running smoothly. I believe I had an air / fuel mixture issue. Instead of checking it and calling me, they replaced the carb (which I already did), replaced the fuel filter (which I already did) and filled it with fuel (it was full when I dropped it off) and they charged me $300 for things I already did. Told them I wanted my parts back (which were new) and they said they threw them away. This place is a rip off. Go to Mayberry's the place near Washington, NJ. They know how to treat a customer.
Owner is very rude- I am guessing he has enough money to not need any more business. I was sent to this authorized dealer from Toro directly. Made an appointment to bring machine in on Monday, 07/20/2015, apparently it was to much to ask when it might be done- The owner, indicated that there are a lot of machines in the yard that are more important. They will get to mine when they can... as it is not important. He continued to let me know, if that was not okay, I could take my machine elsewhere, as he waved to me, stating- Buh Bye, Buh Bye- Take your machine out of here....
If it werent for the fact that Toro was paying for the Warranty/Recall work on my mower, I would have left with my machine-
I did receive a call on Tuesday, 7/21/15, indicating the work was completed. I picked up the mower today and they did do a nice job.
It's too bad that they are so unfriendly and nasty. They are close to me and convenient- In the future, I will certainly travel a little further to a different location.
I got a great deal on a new brush cutter from these guys. They know their stuff. I also picked up a bow that was close to the lowest online price I could find. I won't be caught in any big box stores picking up anything these guys carry. Can't rate the service dept yet, but based on sales I can't imagine they are that bad.
Kollmer Power has taken care of me every time I've been to the shop. The guys are all very nice and it is my go to place for any yard equipment.
-I had a great experience buying my Zero Turn mower, Scag Freedom Z. -They fixed my Toro TimeMaster under warranty (which I didn't buy there). -Replaced a fuel line for my Echo blower which I bought there. -Ordered a few warranty parts for my mower no questions asked.
The other review's comment about not being a contractor is BS, I'm not a contractor and I've had absolutely no issues, neither have any of my friends or family which I recommended going there.
I think the service dept did a great job for me. They went the extra mile and made sure my mower was in tip top shape for the mowing season. They went as far as scraping the old grass out from under the mower deck and pressure washed the whole machine. The mechanics were very knowledgeable about the machines they work on and the guys in the store were very friendly and helpful as well.
I also purchased some fishing gear there and noticed they have a very healthy archery dept as well. They should change the name to Kollmer One Stop Shop!
Be very careful here. The service department is a very shady operation. They repaired expensive things on my machine that I did not ask for or authorize. Conversations with the service advisors border lined on abusive.
