We were in town for an event and found this gluten free gem of a restaurant in the area - this cute, eclectic, welcoming little spot was perfect for our group! It’s often challenging to find a spot that is celiac safe but we felt 100% safe since everything is gluten free and no outside food is allowed in. All of the lunch items we ordered were delicious and the desserts were excellent! The gentleman at the register was kind and helpful and made our visit extra special. If you ever open another location, please do so in the capital region in upstate NY since we could use a place like this and there’s a big market for it!?

I was truly taken back by this place. Words cannot express how much it warmed my heart to see such a wonderfully small staff provide service here. To my understanding, there are only two individuals working here (one cooking and one taking orders/ attending). This alone struck me due to how busy it was a Sunday morning. However, the food is top notch and service is outstanding. If I lived closer I could see myself being a regular. I definitely plan on making the 45 minute trip out again. Totally worth it and I wish the staff the absolute best!

Everything about this place is fantastic. The ambiance, the bespoke sandwiches, the people. We're lucky to have Silver & Signe bringing good food to a little nook of our town. If you haven't ever been to their tapas nights, don't sleep on them! Because if you do, they'll be sold out by the time you wake up. Seriously.

Our friends snagged a reservation for us and we were thrilled! The menu was incredible! The service was great and the owners were helpful in deciding which plates to get. Happy to have had a chance to eat here! You should too!

The food is insanely delicious and the staff is lovely. Especially impressed with the gluten free desserts that are out of this world. The service is very slow, it doesn’t appear they have wait staff. If you’re in a rush this isn’t a good choice. I’ll say this is my first time so not 100% sure if it’s the norm. But if you’re looking for a leisurely spot to enjoy great food in a calm setting this is it!

celiac safe and the food is crazy good and high quality. The pastries are textured like regular pastries and don't fall apart like typical gluten free products to, whilst maintaining a really good taste. Not sure how they do it but 10/10.

Great spot! Local food, kind staff and the pastries are amazinggggggg. We've had the eggs and plantanes, the egg wrap and the hang over, all three were phenomenal as well as the snickerdoodle blondies and other treats all of it was so good. Atmosphere is acclectic and chill. If you are in town this is a must stop!

This is a lovely hole in the wall place with great ambiance. The coffee is drip coffee only, which isn’t my favorite but if that’s your thing, it’s good. Chickpea wrap was tasty but quite a lot for one person I felt.

Run, don’t walk, to the newly refreshed True Salvage Kitchen with its gluten-free menu. My husband has celiac and I’m a gluten lover, so when we frequented true salvage prior to the switchover, we each tasted both of their offerings on either side. Today, my favorite meal, the hangover cure, was even better in its GF rendition and the hash was absolutely heavenly. The wraps are just the right amount of chewy and if you didn’t know, you can’t tell that they’re gluten-free at all. This is the best breakfast in town and you won’t miss the gluten a bit. Oh, and their amazing playlist and excellent service from Silver are unchanged! ?

Heard about this place on NJ.com as the best in the state so I had to try it out. Hands down the best THEC I have ever tasted. The cashier who attended me was also very nice and friendly. Highly recommend

Last night we hosted my Mom's birthday party and we could not be happier with the service, food and atmosphere. The space is eclectic, homey and run by the most lovely and accommodating owners, which in turn made our night really special. Thank you!

Such a local gem! The owners, Silver and Signe, are so warm and inviting, and their food is above and beyond. I've gone here a few times for grab and go meals in the morning, but I really fell in love after attending one of their monthly BYOB tapas nights. I'm tempted to gatekeep, but follow their social media for dates. The food was phenomenal!

A very cute artsy vibe and very good food. I got a sausage, egg, and cheese wrap and was very pleased. The only drawback is they only serve drip coffee no lattes or hot chocolate. I would def return though.

Excellent food. Be prepared for a wait on the weekend (it's worth it, but I frequently order ahead and just eat there). I feel like most people go here for the brunch/breakfast but the lunch menu is not to be missed either. Cheesesteak has to be one of the best in the area. If you're at the pool the time it takes to wait in that line is probably longer than calling ahead this place going and picking it up and coming back - food for thought. And to top it all off, the sweets they have are also on par with some of the best bakeries around (Liv and Breadstand) You really cant lose here.

I love this place. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the inside of the cafe is very unique. I love the vintage decor. The Turkey Goat sandwich special is my favorite.

I have tried alot of pork roll egg and cheese before... this place makes a great one especially due to their bread. Don't let the decor throw you, its great food and Very friendly service. I don't normally like bread pudding, but this was good, found myself eating more than I expected. The short rib cup was good, we all tried it.

Eclectic decor to enjoy and experience while waiting for your order. The menus are at eye level by the cashier, which I very much appreciated. I ordered the melted roast beef sandwich; it was delicious. It had the right amount of roast beef so the sandwich could keep its structure. Caramelized onions added a hint of sweetness to complement the mustard and cheese. The cibatta bread was perfectly toasted and the right thickness for the meaty sandwich. Overall, great tasting sandwich and will definitely come to try their other sandwiches.

I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a plain toasted bagel . The wait time is a little long , the guy on the phone told me 20 minutes . I received my food after 25 minutes . But I will say, even though they toasted the bagel a little bit harder then I expected, it was still very delicious . Everything cooked perfectly and fulfilling for my late breakfast . There was beautiful Pastries there that I noticed other customers ordering and a nice ambience . I was in a rush but will be back to taste some of the items !

More than just a cafe. Terrific food and baked goods (and a great coffee selection). Visually interesting, plus many of the antiques are for sale!

First time here and got 2 sandwiches. Their Taylor ham, eggs and cheese was great (tried it elsewhere and didn’t love it but read reviews about how True Salvage has the best Taylor ham sandwiches and it truly did not disappoint!) Their Sausage, eggs and cheese is one of the best I’ve had in a long time (for frame of reference, I’m used to the ones you get from corner bodegas in Brooklyn that are simple yet delicious!). Easy outdoor seating and interiors feel like you’re at an antique shop. Will definitely be back!

I can only rate based on the Croissant special I had, when I came in early afternoon they told me they were out of croissants so I'd have to pick a bagel or bread which at first bummed me out but during the 5 minutes I was waiting a new batch of croissant came out the oven and they were able to make my sandwich. The coffee was okay. My friend had the Taylor, egg and cheese and said it was good but he wish he had gotten it on a bagel instead of the bread. The cafe is so dope those, I love the antique salvage vibe.

How have I not written a review for this place yet?! I try to limit my True Salvage visit to 1x a week! I absolutely love the food and the people. They have specials everyday but don’t forget to check out their daily menu! My favorites are the daily roast beef, cheesesteak, and chicken salads, any anything with mushrooms it’s mozzarella ??? I ?recommend this place. They are this upscale neighborhood cafe with awesome food, amazing people, and cute decor! FYI they also serve some keto friendly dishes for those watching their carbs??

Love this sandwich. Great food fur such a small location. I could taste the love and care they put in that horseradish. It really bought the sandwich together. I'm gonna keep going back till I try everything on the menu twice. Great service as well and that's with what appears to be only 2 people working.

It sounds like a cliché, but this cafe is the definition of hidden gem. From the rustic decor to delicious and healthy food selection, you can't go wrong with True Salvage! Most of the foods are made from scratch and you can really taste the care that the chef has put in to her food. I'd definitely recommend this Maplewood spot to anyone who is looking for a cool spot to meet friends and hang out.
