At 7:30 the doors opened and I was greeted by the John, he continued to give me great service in locating what I needed, as it was out of stock. John connected with the nearest Advance Auto that did and I was able to get what I needed, thanks John!

Needed a simple 1/4 straight black vacuum connector to repair my wiper fluid lines. This was the first of three local auto parts stores that couldn’t help me. Amazon sent next day. Can’t imagine why retail is dying.

Not impressed. I've lived in Maplewood for a year. Never went to this location but had to for engine coolant. The guys were more confused than I was. I had to go online to confirm what kind I needed. They said they're not allowed to pour it into my car but can show me where. First of all he didn't know how to open my hood ? he asked that I look on YouTube. Then he wasn't 100% sure where to our the fluid. At this point are you hiring? I have no knowledge of these things and would fit in perfectly here.

Could have been handled differently. I usually only use Advance both in Jersey City and Maplewood. I need a bulb replacement. I advised that last time someone was nice enough to help me and they guy on the phone abruptly said…. We don’t do that. Very poor customer service. He could have been nicer about it, something called Customer Service

The worst customer service ever. They have you stand in line for about ten minutes. Then you get to the counter to pay for whatever it is your about to buy and then he says oh I only take credit in at this Register you have to go to the other side I'm like what so I'm just Supposed to go over there and stand in line behind all these other people and wait some more they are crazy I will never go there again

Went with my daughter to buy wipers and an engine air filter. The manager there and the staff were so nice. The manager came and installed my wipers for me, realizing I bought the wrong pair for my truck. Highly recommended

I dropped my Amazon return on 4.24.23 and was told that system is down and package will be scanned later. Received an email from Amazon today that my package has never been returned. Disappointing. I’ll investigate this incident. My advice, do not repeat my mistake. Have a proof that you dropped a package there

I had a transaction with Fernando that really was excellent. He was was patient and welcomed me to the store with a smile. He was by himself with three customers and he didn't break a sweat. This is my favorite location.

ALEX is amazing! He was very informative in the store, and patient when I would ask follow up questions. He even came outside in the rain to replace my back windshield wiper. I have been going to Advance Auto Parts for about 10 years now, will continue to do so because of associates like Alex.

The store employees are very rude for absolutely no reason. UPS sent my package here on 11/23 and for whatever reason, they said it wasn’t delivered when it was. The store is kept so filthy and unorganized in the back so I’m not surprised they couldn’t find my package in this location. The male employee let me check for my package, which I’m sure was there, but it was too many boxes for me to sort through. The female employee….what a joke. She didn’t even check the computer, lied & said the UPS system was down because she wanted to go home. I came back on 11/24, presented my ID and UPS confirmation number and the same female employee didn’t even look at my documentation. She went to the back, got my package, slammed my package on the table and walked away. I could’ve confronted her about her rude behavior but it nor she wasn’t worth the headache. When I left the store, I immediately called to ask for a manager and a male employee wouldn’t put the “manager” on the phone b/c I wouldn’t discuss what I needed to speak to the manager for. I asked for the manager again and he started yelling and hung up. If I’m asking for a manager, it’s serious right? Oh ok. The way I was treated and spoken to was uncalled for. Because this comment is public I’ll just leave it at that.

I arrived near closing time with a vague idea of a fuel/oil system treatment or cleaner. Rough idle, slow acceleration, check engine light, noises, etc. on a 168,000K Buick. Hoping for a miracle? Absolutely! Alex was the young guy holding down the fort. I immediately thought to ask for an 'experienced' guy in the back. No such luck. I told Alex the issues and the names of various brands of products I heard to just "pour in" somewhere and create my miracle. He patiently explained the pros and cons of several products. I settled on my purchases and he even came outside to help me. It was dark, late and getting cold . . . And he's still explaining about air intake, fuel mixtures, and things that spark! Past closing now and I left with my 'A' list of instructions. What an incredible asset AAP has here. A knowledgeable, helpful and patient young man. He's got a bright future. Thank you so much Alex!

Just stopped by this store to pick up a kit to charge the AC in my Subaru Impreza. As I was wondering the aisles looking for the kit, Alex greeted me. I mentioned to him what I was looking for and he guided me over to where the kits were on display. He asked the make of the car and if I had it checked prior to my visit. I said no. He proceeded to obtain a test hose and asked to see the vehicle. He checked the pressure of my AC system and told me it was over pressurized. He explained that buying a kit would only be a short term solution and that I needed to go to a mechanic and have the system bled of the air and recharged with refrigerant. I thanked him for his advice and appreciated him taking the time to explain the situation and his willingness to test the system. He could have just sold me the kit and moved on to the next customer. Thank you Alex for your great customer service.

I had such a wonderful experience the last time I went to this shop. The man who helped me - Pierre - was so incredible, patient, and knowledge. I was getting my battery replaced, and he took the time to provide some education in addition to the install. I left with a brand new battery and really helpful knowledge that will help me in making the right choices for my car in the future. Really wonderful service!

The team at this Auto Parts Store is always reliable. They're also very good when it comes to returns. Overall good workers and good parts to choose from if you're not a car person or mechanically inclined, they will help you and explain things for you.

Always stocked well, coupons available when you order parts online. The only thing I would say that needs improvement is some of the staff towards female customers. I'm knowledgeable about my car and I know what light bulbs I needed but the guy at the register made my 2 minute transaction into 10mins. Color of the light bulb didn't matter I was replacing them even his co-worker looked at him weird. The hours for the store does need an update online.

This place has great customer service. But they have failed to update their business hours on the website, due to Covid-19. You only find out they closed at a certain time after you see it posted on the door of the business. Besides that everything else is great. As soon as I see an update I will change the star rating to 5.

The manger of the store was really rude to me and did not seem to care about what I may have needed. It seemed like helping me was a unwanted chore for her, they should consider who they hire as managers in some of these companies. The young lady who was an associate ended up helping me ,she was very kind and had a great personality that's why I did not just walk out.

Took 15 minutes for the staff to find a piece I had ordered the day before which was sitting in their received stock... the auto "pro" who was searching had to wait to ask how to find it while 2 employees completed a personal conversation... meanwhile their were other customers waiting on the sales floor to be rung up... the 2nd employee came up only when a customer she recognized came in and immediately helped him out

Excellent staff, extremely accommodating and helpful. They installed windshield wipers on our sons car which were fairly tricky. This facility is in South Orange, New Jersey and we live in Florida. I am pleased with the service here in Florida but Well Service here is good it does not top what these 2 associates did for us.

This place is one of the really good ones. I originally came here because it's very close to my job. I keep coming here because everyone I've dealt with (currently 6 different people) has not only been knowledgeable, but friendly, and helpful as well. If you go, you'll see!

Great place for parts on the go! Drop in for something as small as a washer or as large as an axle. Either way you're covered! Sometimes you have a small wait, but worth it for those emergency repair needs. Most parts are in stock and ready to go. Clean store and friendly staff.

The best advance auto. Parts store in new jersey..the employees truly take care of your needs especially the young lady name Jabrielle..she is awesome. I always pray that she is in the store when i am heading there..I love going to that branch...

I needed to get a mirror for the passenger side of my car and it was $37 total for the glass and the special adhesive while every other place was going to charge me $50+! Also the woman and man that helped me cam outside to look at my car and showed me how to do it! Would definitely recommend

The people are very nice here. NEVER GO TO THE ADVANCED AUTO PARTS on Lyons ave in Irvington unless you don't mind being talked down to and treated badly. It's so bad there a security guard is permanently posted there. You have been warned!!

The place is new and very clean. The gentleman helping me was very nice and helpful. There was a girl employee and she was rude! As he's helping me, she's asking him to help her empty the garbage at that second! She saw he was with a customer. She also had some loud obnoxious music playing on a device, I'm assuming it was her phone. If it wasn't for her rude behavior I would give this place 5 stars!
