This guy was a life saver. We’re from North Jersey on vacation at wildwood during 4th of July week our vehicle developed a strange noise and we automatically assumed the worst. I called multiple shops prior and I was met with “were busy we have nothing open till next week”, this shop was the last one I called and from the moment I picked up the man was super generous actually listened to the problem through the phone and us holding it near where we were hearing it and told us to bring it in to have a look. We bring it in, the man knew right away what the problem was, helped us identify a solution for us to make it home safely. On top of that he had an excellent attitude and joked around with us while making us feel at home and not to worry. Can’t reccomend this mechanic enough. Thanks again man!

Scott was great. He fixed the brakes on my daughter's car based on a sound. He topped off fluids and put air in her tires. Such a great guy. Thank you Scott for being available at this time and for being an honest auto mechanic.

Update (2025): Since my previous experience with Scotty almost a year ago, I serviced my vehicle with my dealership. Shortly after this service, my car displayed a bunch of warning lights including Check Engine. Stopped by S&E and Scotty immediately dropped what he was doing, scanned my car for engine codes, and found a simple mistake made by the dealership during their service (a disconnected valve). Scotty fixed it on the spot in a matter of minutes, giving me peace of mind and saving me another trip to the dealership. He's the best! 2024: Great experience with Scotty at S&E! Stopped by the shop when I noticed my car was making a weird noise. Scotty immediately diagnosed the issue and had me come in first thing the next day to quickly fix it at no cost. Scott was kind, honest, and professional. He even showed me exactly where the problem was under my car, which I thought was super neat! Highly recommend.

I just got to say that Scotty and Will are the best people in town to have look at your vehicle, not only are they professional and to the point, but they treat you like part of the job, telling you what and why things are needed for the repair. Scott is a nice guy and great Auto mechanic. He saved our vacation this past Labor Day. We were driving to the beach when our brakes stopped working. Up ahead was S & E Auto Repair. Fortunately they were opened. Scott dropped the work he was doing to assist us. He determined our brake fluid line had cracked. He repaired our Car on the spot. His repair fee was very reasonable. We are very grateful to his kindness and excellent Customer service skills. We would highly recommend his S & E Auto Repair shop to anyone. Thank you Scott for helping us!

I called early on a Monday morning out of sheer desperation due to an oil leak in my vehicle. I had to take a road trip for a personal reason that afternoon and was afraid I might break down on the road. Scotty (the owner)was amazing. He said that I could bring it in to him and he would check it over,it in fact does have an oil leak but he assured me that I could make the trip. I will definitely be taking it back to him for repair! ???

A+++++ Service!!! Had a PHENOMENAL experience with Scott and S&E Auto!!! Brought my car, Black Betty (Bam-ba-lam) in for my AC to be charged. He went above and beyond diagnosing the problem, charging it, and accomplishing the repair! Super kind and down-to-earth guy! My son and I are beyond grateful for his service! Now my baby wont be miserable and hot in the car anymore and for that I can’t thank him enough! God Bless you and your family!!! I know I will absolutely be back! :)

Scott is the best, his prompt servicing of our F150 went above and beyond our expectations. Towed our trailer from Ottawa to Cape May, the transmission cooler line blew at our park site. Had the truck towed to S&E Auto Repair late Monday morning, Scott had the transmission cooler repaired late afternoon and we are back to vacationing. If you are in need of repairs while in Cape May... definitely give Scott a call, he's the man!!

My son's car had a very bad oil leak from an improperly replaced oil filter that was done the week before our vacation. We were just about to leave Cape May for a 4 to 5 hour drive home. It was a Saturday morning. I went and bought a new oil filter from Autozone and Scott helped right away and did a great job. Scott found that the gasket on the oil filter housing was twisted from the other mechanic near where we live. We could tell that he was concerned for us and our drive home which is why he took care of us so quickly. Thank you so much.

Amazing place! Had a brake emergency while taking the long trek home from the beach. Owner told us to come in without an appointment. He diagnosed and repaired on the spot at a very fair and reasonable price. Truly wonderful people and a lifesaver!

We had an issue with our car while on vacation in Cape May. We Googled mechanics in the area and came across S&E Auto Repair. We drove there and Scotty promptly told us he could take a look at it in an hour or so. We hang around, and he showed us a project he is working on and answered some of our questions about it. He is very friendly. After a couple minutes he said he would jack up the car and do things the “old fashioned way”. He replaced the part that was broken and tested it to make sure it was all good. He also pointed out a noise in the engine so he came back with a tool to listen to the engine and suggested us to take a further look into it. We can’t recommend this place enough. Scotty was really helpful and generous as well. May God help his business to prospect even more and bless him. If you are looking for a passionate and honest mechanic you can go to S&E and not be disappointed.

We were heading back home after vacationing in Cape May when we noticed that our car kept made a jerking motion. We saw the sign for S & E Auto Repair and stopped in. Scott dropped what he was doing and spent the next hour and a half diagnosing and fixing the problem. Incredible customer service! The car drove smoothly the entire way home. Scott was a lifesaver. I highly recommend this place.

I would like to give a shout out to Scott from S&E Auto Repair! Scott took time out of his busy day to do a weld repair on a knee scooter. We were down on vacation and our daughter is 3 weeks out of ankle surgery and the scooter is a necessity! Scott is a true gentleman and an awesome individual!

The guys at S&E are wonderful to deal with. We had a problem with a tire a couple of years ago where others said we needed a new tire, they fixed it immediately and very cheaply. We had a nail in another tire recently and immediately went back to S&E, since they treated us so well the last time. Again, they dropped everything and took care of the tire in minutes. We highly recommend them. Good guys who do good work and very friendly.

We were heading home from vacation when our car started to overheat. After letting it cool down, we searched for the closest garage to hopefully get some oil. We made it to S & E Auto Repair. The owner came out and checked the car. The oil was low but he noticed the coolant was extremely low as well. He helped us out and got us home with no trouble. Great service, forever grateful. I would highly recommend.

We were recently on vacation in Cape May and started having transmission trouble. We took our car to a nearby garage and they hooked it to the computer diagnostics and it was confirmed it was a transmission issue but they stated they did not have time to repair it and to check around with other garages. We did book an appointment the next day at another repair shop but then made a call to S&E Auto Repair and I am so glad we did! When we told Scott about the issue we were having he immediately knew what the problem was and even offered to do some investigating on his end to confirm (a nationwide recall.) Scott took a chunk of time out of his very busy day to assist us when he was not even going to make a dime on us, since it was a recall issue. He confirmed the information and advised us what our next steps should be. If it wasn’t for Scott we could have faced a very hefty repair bill at the other garage. We ended up having the car towed several hundred miles back home to the dealership for the covered repairs. We can not even begin thank Scott enough for his kindness, his help and his honesty!

I had some concerns about my truck when visiting town for a week. Scott took care of me same day. It is very clear that this place is honest and fair — traits you don’t find too often at car shops these days. I personally watched Scott take care of another customer, explain and demonstrate exactly the issue and solution. He treated me with the same degree of kindness and aptitude. He went above and beyond. Can’t recommend this place more.

If you ever get car trouble while visiting Cape May, go see Scott at S&E Auto Repair. He's going to level with you and do the job right. I had steering wheel issue and what looked like a steering rack job at over 1400$ turned out to be two loose bolts. Anyone could have make easy money with this but Scott was honest and reliable. Scott was an absolute gentleman today. I had the good luck of getting a flat tire right in front of his repair shop and he insisted on changing it for me and would not take any money! It's always refreshing to meet kind people that do the right thing because it's the right thing to do! By reading over his reviews it looks like he is an amazing mechanic as well as a super nice guy! I will be recommending S&E to everyone I know.

Don’t let his outwardly tough exterior fool you. I came from NYC to Cape May for the first time and urgently needed to replace a transmission hose. Sam was quick to identify the issue and solve without making me wait. He is one of most generous and kind people I’ve come across in a long time. I would highly recommend coming to see Sam to fix any issue as he has tons of experience and you won’t be disappointed.

I called on a Saturday with a screw in my tire issue. Scott fit me in within a 1/2 hour of my call. When I arrived, Scott was prepared and ready to fix the issue. Scott looked at the tire and luckily no major repair was needed. Scott was friendly, professional and fast! I now have found a repair shop and mechanic I would highly recommend to everyone. Sam was very good blessing. I was on vacation with my kids and my car broke down. I called around shops and everyone told me no. He told me to come in and saw that my wheel was loose. On top of him finding what was wrong, he check my truck all the way around to make sure I could get home with safety with kids. I suggest anyone to come here. You will never go wrong. Came into some car trouble with a busted radiator on my way to vacation. Scott from S&E was helpful beyond my expectations. He was able to get the necessary parts and do the repair in one day and his price was very reasonable. All others shops had told us they couldn’t do the job for several days. While coming to our camp site on Rt. 9, the weekend of the 4rth of Oct. Our car started to smoke, within minutes we where overheating at 9:30 in the evening. After we stopped and inspected for our selves we saw that some where in the engine compartment we either blew a hose or worst case blew the engine. After nursing our car back to the camp site, we figured we would address the issue in the morning. Next day we started a search for a service shop, and a means to get home to Philly. For starters we found that most auto service shops within a ten mile radius were closed. Still looking we came across S & E Seashore Auto Repair, 663 Seashore Road In Erma right off RT. 9. We stopped in on our bikes to see what if anything could be done in such a short time frame, leaving the next day, Sunday. We met the owner Scott, who is also the hands on mechanic. After a ten minute conversation he asked to bring it by to see what he could do. To shorten this story, Scott was a true professional in all aspects of the business. Very nice man indeed, he did what was needed to fix the car at a very reasonable price. He was trustworthy, polite and very knowledgeable. For in the auto repair business as I’m sure people know that is a rare commodity. I’m giving five stars because of the great experience we had at his shop. I would recommend with full trust that if you need a great mechanic, he is honest as the day is long. Thanks Scott we appreciate everything you did for us.
