Had my daughters waiting for 3.5 hrs stranded on a major highway.Gave an ETA of 3:40am after being stranded and then told them they would be 1.25 hrs delayed. I called Geico and they said this was totally unacceptable. I went out there myself and changed the flat and then called their dispatcher who lied and said Geico cancelled the tow at what point I called her out on her lie and said I just got off the phone with Geico and they never said such a thing. Told her to tell the tow truck driver to EAD suggested she EAD to. Beware of this company and stay far away as possible from them.

I am a firm believer in expressing gratitude when good-great exemplary service is given so here I am. I experienced an incident with my car after a late night pre-winter storm run @ Walmart in Rio Grande. The store had just closed and it was frigid out {in the teens} and immediately I contacted my local AAA. After my call was handled by the company agent, I had their dispatch arrive within less than 10 minutes. "Tow Truck Chuck" was outstanding. He handled everything with sheer professionalism and aplomb. My car was immobilized and in a 'unique predicament' which required some fast and clever thinking and Chuck delivered. With his assistance, everything was executed competently and securely. He is an asset and a credit to his employer and be assured, this review is completely predicated on the exceptional service he provided. Thanks "Tow Chuck Truck" for the friendly helping hand when it was urgently needed.

I just wanted to come back and thank you. The night before my car broke down and would turn on at all. Out of the kindness in his heart he seen my hazard light on the side of the highway and decided to pull over to help, he didn’t have to be he did. He even help get my car working and showed me what was wrong, how to fix it and where to get the thing I need. I am beyond grateful for the help he provided. He an amazing guy. Thank you again!!!

Al from Cape May Riggins was my guardian angel today! I came out of CVS in Ocean City, NJ and was unable to start my car. Turned the key several times, but nothing. Looked like "check oil' and "check battery" lights on the dashboard. Al showed up in less than the time promised. He didn't just get ready to tow the car. He sat in the car to troubleshoot, and figured out my issue! The gear shift wasn't completely engaged. I had been able to park ok when i arrived and get key out of ignition, but didn't realize it was not fully engaged! What a relief....to be able to drive away, no tow, no huge mechanics bill. To me, he went above and beyond. He actually took the time to troubleshoot, and show me what had happened. It's so good to know that there are honest, hardworking people out there, caring and professional. Thank you Al.and thank you Cape May Riggins. You restored my faith in human nature! Maureen Sharkey

This company stated that they would be here at 5:03, after calling at 4:03. At 6:35, I finally canceled. I canceled after: 1. Being yelled at by a tow driver for being told I could not ride along unless I waited 2 extra hours (I use Geico, and I stated clear that I would be going with them. 2. The main phone person giving attitude to the Geico lady (she was livid, and reported them herself.) 3. The original driver marking it as “complete” only for me to have to call Geico AGAIN to remedy it 4.the second driver, who said he’d be there in 15 minutes, deciding that 15 minutes means “I’ll call you in 15 minutes to tack on another 20” I hate the stereotypes around tow truck companies being shiesty and the likes. This company embodies that trope to the point of near parody. I have no clue how well they actually tow, because they refuse to do their job. Based on the attitudes of those who work there, stay away. They do not care about you. They will make you wait. They will yell at you. Photo proof that I DID “hire” them. I would not be surprised if they delete poor reviews.

Tow Truck Chuck at Cape May Riggins showed up incredibly fast and immediately put us at ease. His kindness stood out from the moment he arrived: patient, reassuring, and genuinely looking out for us. He didn’t just do the job; he went above and beyond, helping every step of the way and making sure we got where we needed to go safely. It’s rare to meet someone so helpful and kind in a stressful moment. We’re really grateful Chuck was the one who came. Highly recommend him.

Jason and Shane saved our vacation! When our 4Runner broke down in the middle of an intersection in Wildwood late afternoon on a Sunday, Jason was on-site within minutes. Thanks to Shane’s expert mechanical skills, we were back on the road and fully operational by that evening—just in time to catch the ferry early the next morning and continue on to our next destination. Huge thanks to both of you!

Review for Riggins Automotive Yesterday my husband and I decided to take a day trip to Cape May from 3 hours away since we didn't get a day off all summer. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we realized we had a flat tire. While it wasn’t completely flat, we carefully drove 1.5 miles to the only gas station in the area, which happened to be Riggins Automotive, 1331 Washington Street, Cape May, New Jersey. By the time we got there, the tire was completely flat. We went inside to ask for assistance, but were barely acknowledged. A heavy set woman named Alicia was behind the desk, and she didn’t even make eye contact with us. We waited close to 20 minutes before anyone asked what we needed. When we explained about the flat tire, someone eventually looked at it and told us the tire was no good. Since our spare (a donut) didn’t have the lug bolts that should have come with it when we purchased the vehicle, we were stuck relying on Riggins and the woman behind the desk who snarled at us when we arrived. We asked if they could possibly obtain the correct tire, and after some time Alicia told us it would be a few hours before it arrived. Since it was still early (around 11:30 a.m.), we decided to make the best of the situation and went for lunch. When we came back at 3:15, the tire still hadn’t arrived. About 20 minutes later, a delivery came with a tire—but it sat untouched. When I asked Alicia if another mechanic was available to install it, she very curtly told me “you’ll just have to wait.” Outside, I spoke with Danielle, the gas attendant, who was kind enough to check with the mechanic as I was concerned if the mechanic was on a long time job. Alicia actually ran over to intervene since apparently she did not want the mechanic to even help us. She followed through with coming to the front where we were waiting and scolded both my husband and myself for not being “patient.” She even went so far as to say she was choosing not to help us—one of the most unprofessional responses I’ve ever encountered. Finally, the mechanic compared the delivered tire to ours and realized Alicia had ordered the wrong one. At this point it was nearly 4:00 p.m., and with closing time approaching, we were left stranded. We had to call AAA, get towed, and then take an Uber to Rio Grande, NJ to check multiple tire shops—none of which had the exact model we needed. Unfortunately we had to leave our car there and now we will have to make another 6-hour round trip to drop off the rental car and pick up our car and return home. The most disappointing part of the entire ordeal was Alicia’s complete lack of professionalism, empathy, or even basic courtesy. She literally left the premises while we were still stuck there. As promised Alicia did not help us any further. She took her drink at minutes before 4:00 got in her car and left. The only bright spots were Danielle, who genuinely tried to help, and Jason from AAA, who went above and beyond getting us to Dave of Mr. Tire who stayed late to order the tire at 100.00 less than what Riggins quoted us. Dave was indeed fabulous to work with. If you find yourself in Cape May and in need of help, I strongly recommend you avoid Riggins Automotive. Based on our experience, they are not reliable, responsive, or customer-oriented when it truly matters. I'm certain karma will prevail.

I had to use my AAA account for the first time while stranded on the side of the road unable to start my vehicle. I had the pleasure of meeting their technician Lewis who was extremely knowledgeable and aces at customer service. My vehicle subsequently needed to be towed to a repair shop and Lewis took care of making all the arrangements. The best measure of a great service provider is the ability of their employees to make the customer feel comfortable that they are well taken care of and Lewis exceeded all of my expectations. Thank you RIGGINS of Cape May.

These guys are the best in the area when I requested AAA with towing our vans. One was on a Saturday June 14th and they came to rescue quickly. I could pay the toll with a link they sent, so convenient. Tech savviness, communication, helpfulness and quick responses were appreciated. They even sent me a photo where they left off the van at the shop we requested in Linwood. We had our other truck broke down again today and of course I chose these guys again. They never disappoint, did a flawless job again! Thank you so much! ?

I personally would suggest avoiding this service center. If you feel inclined to work with this service center due to a tow or convenience to your location, do so at your own risk. My circumstances sound very similar to another poor rating here on Google. We visited from out of town and needed to have our car towed due to stall and no start. The tow was fine, but the repair was not. We were called and told that the car was “done” on the Monday following the 4th of July holiday (we certainly were not expecting our car to be done sooner than that with the holiday). No other conversation had been had prior regarding service other than at drop off when I was told that a diagnostic charge would be applied (understandable, but would expect diagnostic to be accurate). When I asked what was wrong with the car and what was done, the person on the phone said something that was unclear about there being a “temporary repair” and that the “fuel pump harness” had broken. Confused, I asked outright if the problem was fixed, and the person said “yes” and that it “would be good for years to come.” I paid for service and got a receipt, but there were no details on the receipt about what was done. That probably should have tipped me off, but trusting this place as a AAA recommended center I let it go on the verbal explanation that the car was “fixed.” It was less than two weeks later, after not driving the car much at all beside back to our home, that the same problem occurred and we had to have it towed again. This time we took it to our mechanic, whom we have used for close to 8 years and trust very much. He asked for a description what was done and in all the online updates or paperwork that was sent at the time Riggins (including when paid) there was nothing showing a work summary for the car. I decided to call Riggins and ask for it to be sent to me, and they did email it to me. This is the first time in writing that I saw the “repair” as follows: “FIND OPEN AT FUEL INJECTION HARNESS. RETAINING CLIP MISSING/BROKEN. EFFECT TEMPORARY REPAIR. NEEDS HARNESS REPLACEMENT.” My mechanic immediately shook his head, and said that this neither adequately described the problem nor the “repair.” The problem was actually the fuel injection pack needed to be replaced completely. No “harness replacement” was going to fix the actual problem. Also, my mechanic said the only evidence of work done on the vehicle recently in this same part of the car was two zip ties that were holding wires in place. The hundreds of dollars paid for this “temporary repair”, which is not at all what I would expect from any auto repair shop, was for two zip ties and an incorrect diagnosis of the problem. Again, not what I would expect for auto repair. This kind of “temporary repair” with an inaccurate guess is what I might expect from someone out on the road to do to help me get it to a shop to get fixed, but not from the shop with actual mechanics where I was expecting it to be fixed.

I thought I had a huge problem with my vehicle that would cost me more than the car was worth. But with Riggins state-of-art computer diagnostics, the issue was identified and solved in the same day—at a reasonable cost. Kudos to Barney and the team. Kufis

We were in Cape May for vacation and our car would not turn on when leaving the zoo. Cape May Riggins towed our car to their garage and had it fixed by noon the following day. Being hours away from home, the seamless process from the tow to the repair made it so easy! I highly recommend!

I can’t thank Jason at Cape May Riggins enough! We found a bolt stuck in our tire while on vacation with my family, and he made what could have been a stressful situation so quick and easy. Jason was professional, friendly, and got us back on the road in no time. It’s rare to find someone so helpful and efficient these days — we really appreciate the great service. Highly recommend Cape May Riggins and especially Jason if you ever need help!

Carlos is absolutely phenomenal! My car's steering wheel and engine went haywire when I was on the way to the Jersey shore, and Carlos was so helpful in getting both my car and me to the dealership. He was so kind, so calm when I was stressed, and made getting my car to the dealership a seamless process. I am so appreciative of him, and whenever I or someone I know has car trouble down the shore, I am calling Cape May Riggins, and I am calling for Carlos!

I have to say. Earlier in the month I was left stranded after a break down nearly 100 miles from home while working. I attempted insurance tow initially then had no luck due to service. Attempted to try to get local companies but they were out of their minds. Tried through insurance and was blessed with Cape May Riggins at the right moment. The gentleman that was towing was beyond professional but kept things light and eased my mind. Got me home nearly 100 miles and once I arrived my kids had a blast watch him get my truck settled into the driveway. Can not thank you enough. Highly Highly recommend if they are avaliable and you need them.

I can't thank Riggins Auto in Cape May enough for their incredible service while I was on vacation. They truly went above and beyond to get me back on the road, even staying late to ensure everything was done right. The team was not only highly skilled but also incredibly nice and respectful. They took the time to educate me on what they found and what it should look like and the mechanic kept me updated every step of the way. They even offered to pick me up if needed, showing just how much they care about their customers. Thanks to Cape May Riggins Auto, I was able to get back home safely. Highly recommend!

Cape May Riggens was called to tow My Nissan GTR From Sea Isle back to PA. Upon unloading the car, the tow truck driver broke my front bumper off, and ripped my carbon fiber undercarriage off. The driver handed me a piece of metal attached to my carbon undercarriage that he ripped off from the front underside of my car and said sorry. They also caused STRESS CRACKS ALL over the bumper, from how it was unloaded. I have before and after photos, they have before and after photos. They did $8500 in damage, and yet still claim it’s not their fault. I photo of driver have witnesses of them unloading, and damaging the car. I’ve had this car towed before, (its stock height) along with other high-end cars that were much lower, and never had an issue. They obviously just sent out an inexperienced driver. They’re tow truck drivers truck drivers do not know how to properly load / unload a car. In the case of something happening they hide and act like it never happened , knowing very well what happened by the pictures they took, and from the driver. 0/10 would not recommend. WORST TOW EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. The company won’t stand behind their drivers. Photo of driver (bumper intact in background ) Photos before tow (bumper fully intact) Photos during tow (bumper fully intact ) Photos after tow ( bumper handing off car with mounts ripped out, and carbon fiber under carriage hanging with a lot of damage) Photo of part that driver ripped off under carriage Photos of bumper intact at place of pickup, and loaded onto truck. I also want to add, they called me hours before pickup and had me email photos of the car so they could ensure they sent the proper truck. Their words where “Our main goal is getting your Vehicle moved without any damage “ They obviously don’t stand behind that when something actually happens. I guess we will have to settle this in court.
