Everyone here is friendly and knowledgeable. They had exactly what I needed. I got both garden soil and concrete sand for the chicken coop. Definitely check them out before you spend too much at the big stores.

So we have ordered from Hermans before as we try to buy local, but this time around I was very displeased with the quality of the garden soil I purchased. Besides being filled with weeds (ok yea its soil) but the soil turns to almost cement as it starts to dry so not very good for your gardens. We had to mix a ton of peat moss just to get this soil to not turn to hard rock. There was also a lot of clay in the soil. Sadly we will not be purchasing from Hermans again in the future and will be looking for another alternative. Sadly the dirt is already put into our garden beds so we have to stick it out for this year, but please steer clear of purchasing the garden soil from them. Oh and the driver was so unprofessional, did not even get out of the truck to hand me the clip board to sign, just put his arm out the truck window to give me the clip board. Never had any delivery driver do that for anything.

We had 3 tons of garden soil delivered this morning (actually ended up getting a little more than we ordered which was a nice suprise.)??The guy who came with the truck was professional yet still super cool & relatable. We filled up two 8×4 raised beds, a 6×2 foot beds, 2 big planters with small blackberry bushes and a BUNCH of smaller containers to use later. Im totally pooped from hauling dirt for 4 hours, but my man is outside spreading what's left in back where grass refuses to grow. The guy who came to deliver the soil was the influence behind this part. ? He told us about someone who used it last year where he couldn't get grass to grow & this year his yard is booming with growth,lol. Now he wants to order another 1-2 tons to finish the yard.?‍♀️? The woman who answered phone to take my order was super helpful & personable as well. Great experience all around. A+ business.

Guyyyyyyz!!! Why are we wasting money at box stores!?! The prices here are better! I was stunned by their website and their prices. The service here is better. They genuinely want you to get what you need at a fair price, with no hassle. I can not say enough about my visit. I needed sand. I called to ask questions. Betsy is the reason this place runs seamlessly. From our phone call, I knew what to do, from when I pulled in, to when I left. She gave clear, concise directions and even shared options for me to get what I needed. I recommend calling and letting them help you think through your project. I would say I was there 15 minutes max. Impressive. Painless. Awesome. I am a customer for life.

Really nice and helpful people to work with. I had rock and garden soil delivered for my raised beds without issue. Unfortunately, my peppers and tomatoes pretty much have immediately gone into a nitrogen deficiency, which surprised me based on the reviews here. The tomatoes that remain in their original soil with no additional fertilizer are still green and thriving. So be aware the garden soil mix is not balanced.

I had concerns about the much I had delivered.I called Jim, Herman’s Operations manager came out right away.(I Live local) Jim was very concerned and polite.Ultimately he’s a stand up guy and made corrections promptly.This is the kind of business everyone should have the honor to do business with.

Great place to buy and recycling , friendly, fair price .. very recommended.. if you don't speak a fluid English, they also have a very friendly Spanish guy to assist you with professionalism...

If I could give more stars I would! Hands down the very best soil I've ever gotten anywhere. I've spent alot of money trying different places out because hermans is 40 minutes away and in new jersey and i am in PA so I doubt they would deliver. I pay a friend to help me pick it up in his dump trailer it's that good! Picked up 5 yards of compost today to reamend last year's newly established beds and I will be heading back soon to pick up 5 yards of the garden soil mix for a large new raised bed. All of my veggies that grew in hermans garden soil blend last year did phenomenal!

Stopped in to price out and purchase some landscape materials yesterday and had the great opportunity of meeting everyone there. Michelle #1, Michelle#2, Betsy. and Meredith were all so friendly and helpful. It’s been very noticeable post-Covid to see the lack of good customer service help, so our hats off to Mr. Herman and his hiring manager for finding and hiring probably the best crew we’ve seen in quite some time. Highly recommended, you WON’T be disappointed if you decide to make them your primary source for landscaping needs.

I purchased soil from Herman’s and it is wonderful. I needed a certain percentage of organics and they were able to help get exactly what I needed for a client.The staff is very professional and great to work with.

They have been on time, have the material I need and have an extremely friendly/professional staff. Being in the construction business, I just wish all of my other suppliers worked as smoothly as they do. Highly recommended

I have been going to Herman's for as long as I can remember. When I had my landscape supply yard, they always took care of me and I ordered everything through them. My customers were always satisfied by the quality, especially the mulch. I have installed thousands of yards of mulch and never a complaint. Now I use then for my own property because whatever you need, they have it. Everyone is always great there and it is always great to see Herman out there running his machine!

I have used Herman’s over the years for playground mulch, black dyed mulch, garden soil, and top soil over the years for a number of projects. I have not had one issue with any of the products I have obtained. I have used delivery on 4 occasions and pickup once. Delivery was quick to schedule, on time, and the driver was courteous each time. No issues whatsoever. It is not necessary to schedule pickup but always good to call and see how busy they are if you can ahead of time. The ladies on the end of the phone and at the check in area are the sweetest and most helpful. The machine operators were always aware of their surroundings in the yard and also polite and helpful. This place is amazing and great for your next project needs. Highly recommend.

I just moved to Browns Mills and found the soil at my house was terrible for gardening. I am very lucky to have found Herman's, both for the garden soil, and the beautiful mulch! The staff is very welcoming, pleasant, and patient. I can see this as the beginning of a great relationship. Their Herman's regular mulch is some of the best I've seen. Highly recommended! I have been a customer of hermans for about 5 years and always a great experience. Fair pricing good, good service and a helpful staff. Recently I was there getting stone and it was super quick and the staff knew what I needed. Keep it going Herman!!

The staff at Herman's were friendly and knowledgable. I recently purchased a home and needed mulch and stone for my driveway that runs the length of my property. They went over each color of mulch and the blends they had in stock. When it came to the stone for my driveway they not only showed me selection they had in stock but also went over which stones would work best for a driveway and which stones would look best used throughout my yard. I had shopped around before heading to Herman's and ultimately found that Herman's had the best pricing on mulch and stones in the area.

These guys are awesome! I went in to get my car weighed for a military move and mistakenly showed up about an hour after they closed. The staff who were there still let me come and weighed my car for me. I'm on a tight timeline and was extremely impressed that they were willing to accommodate me. I am moving out of the area so I wasn't shopping for any landscaping services or supplies, but I did look around while the were printing my weigh certificate and everything I saw was high quality and well priced.

We LOVE Herman’s! We have been coming here yearly for all of our home and garden needs. I don’t even plan my garden each year without a trip to Herman’s for our garden soil blend, mulch and stone! I was even able to get a bag of Portland cement when no other place had it. They are extremely knowledgeable about everything and are more than happy to help with any questions. Whether you pick up or have your order delivered, Herman’s is the BEST and they’re local and we love to support local businesses.

Great place for businesses and homeowners to get their mulch, topsoil, stone and so much more at a wholesale price. So much cheaper then other places and box stores. Ya got a pick up truck going here saves me a ton. Great hidden place.

So I have used them before and not a problem. This time I was supposed to have stone delivered on monday. Didn't get a call to say it could not be done or why it was not... I have tried calling and all I'm getting is voicemail. Frustrated...
