We visited This Thomas Dambo structure as part of a w connection - widows helping widows outing. These are great. There are 172 structures in the world. We first visited the Thomas Dambo trolls in Denmark and now we make sure to visit one wherever we go.

Trolltastic. Could combine with a jaunt on over to the White Dotte Dairy Bar. Could be a goofy roadside attraction but I feel like it's probably a bit out of the way for most long road trips.

We had the pleasure of meeting big Rusty yesterday, he was the absolute coolest. Pictures don't do justice. It's a beautiful area where he is. Surrounded by art and other graffiti. But he set back off the road and it's just so peaceful back there and it's beautiful. You definitely need to go find him.

It's fine for a quick stop if you're in the area. Impressive sculpture in front of a graffiti strewn building you can explore.

Tucked away behind an attorney's office is Big Rusty. There are some conflicting signs about whether or not you should enter, and a camera watching as you do, but regardless it seems like it's a safe place to go when the gate is open.

Very cool! Entrance is dirt road just after diner, look for Lawyer sign. Road will have road closed sign but seems fine to go down it and park...short drive. The posted no trespassing signs appear to be for junk yard adjacent to dirt road. Very eclectic site, lots of cool graffiti...and Rusty...what a Gem!

Check out my video on my Jersey Joyride channel on YouTube to see Rusty in his splendor. There is a very small driveway to enter that you can easily miss off the highway. Once you enter that driveway there is a private business residence on the right side. Do not go that way. Simply continue straight and you'll find big rusty sitting there waiting for you. Seems like there is three main reasons for visiting here, big rusty, fishing or tagging the building behind big rusty. There's plenty of parking here and on the day I went had a few visitors other than myself. Be careful when walking in the buildings. If you watch my video you'll see a spot where I step in and hear the floor begin to give away. It was on the right side of the building.

Enter at your own risk, very cool, graffiti covered rooms to explore. Be careful of lose steps, stones, nails and wood.

That's a great spot! You should also check out the graffiti in that old building. It's some really cool art. We love hunting for trolls.

Perfect pitstop during South Jersey adventures. Great spot for pictures and photoshoots. Double check that the signs in area say open.

I have been to see other Dambo Trolls. The abandoned house that Big Rusty is leaning on as part of the piece is fascinating! Definitely recommend. Also, if this is your first Dambo Troll, be sure to go to Thomas Dambo 's website and start using his Troll Map! It's addictive!

What's not to love? A slow drive up a deserted dirt road. Past a Stephen King-worthy junkyard and signs warning, NO Trespassing!!! A massive troll made of junk lounging in front of an abandoned graffiti-covered pottery factory. Rooms to explore, interesting grounds. Bring a marker or spray paint to add your own artistic touch.

🌎 Awesome artwork made from recycled material! 🌎 💥 Focus on Location 💥 Refer to photos If you can not find it safely is it worth the trip? ⚠️ This awesome big guy is located on a 50mph divided highway and there is NO SIGN at the road/driveway back to it ⚠️ ⚠️ Just past Pandora's Diner on East Bound Rt38 slow down and look for 'Law Office Mark J Molz'. Pull onto shoulder and turn onto road/driveway back ⚠️ If you miss it you will need to use the next jug handle to make a U Turn back west to another jug handle to try again! ⚠️ ☆ Once you are on the road/driveway back you will see a sign 'ROAD CLOSED' and under it a little sign saying 'Private Property Keep Out', on the right hand side. This is BS. This is the property owner next to those signs. Just past the BS signs on the left is 'ROAD IS OPEN By Order of Hainesport Township' (including a surveillance camera warning), nuff said. ☆Note beyond the first 30+/- feet of concrete the road is gravel ☆If the gate is open drive back to a large gravel parking area. ☆Recommend going when the gravel road and parking area is dry. ☆There is no designated parking spots so there is no designated handicap parking spots. ☆Old Rusty can be viewed from car. ☆The abandoned buildings and grounds have become something of a graffiti display work in progress. ⚠️ Understand these buildings have not been approved for the general public access so caution while exploring ⚠️ ⚠️ Be mindful⚠️ there are many comments about bringing a can of spray paint and adding to the what is already there BUT I have seen nothing officially stated by the Township approving this. SO at any time a ticket could be written for vandalizing public property. Just saying. ☆This art display is definitely worth traveling to it and finding it! Everyone has there are own experiences and opinions. This one is mine.

This place is really cool! My best tips are 1. Drive past the no trespassing signs. 2. Wear shoes to protect feet from glass. I took 3 kids from ages 6-15 and they were all fascinated. We went on a weekday so we had the place to ourselves. I've done a little more research on the building; it was an old pottery factory. I bet you could do cool pictures here too. I felt like the cool mom for taking my kids :)

A phenomenal local experience, Big Rusty is a giant troll made of assorted trash and scrap materials. He sit against an old abandoned industrial building that has been converted by visitors into a super-terrific street art experience. Probably one of the coolest things to check out in Burlington County. Dutch artist Thomas Dambo has created a number of giant trash trolls, each with their own personality, throughout the U.S. and Europe. We are really lucky to have one here in South Jersey. When visiting, be sure to wear shoes, and watch out for stray nails and debris as you roam around the site

A fun stop while on a road trip. Note you can drive back to Big Rusty as long as the gate is open. We were confused by the signs and decided to park and walk back. You can bring your own spray pant and add to the art just as long as you keep it “clean.”

I have been trying to get here for a while and finally had the time during a trip to Philadelphia and made the drive! 1000/10 worth it. Such a neat spot to visit and would be soo cool for a real photoshoot!

This place is soooo cool. Big Rusty stays the same, but the graffiti buildings, walls, rafter, ceilings and floor all change with people's 'art.' Take your time, walk around and have fun.

Very cool piece! You can wonder in the abandoned building (at your own risk). As others have said it’s a small dirt road you take to find it, there is a small sign saying that the road is open by order of the town.

Big Rusty has been on our bucket list for awhile, we were very excited to finally see him in person. We had a little difficult finding his exact location but now we know! Very cool place for a photo session too, definitely go on a sunny & clear day.

Very well worth a visit p if you are anywhere in the area, please stop by. It is well worth your time. It is an amazing gift to find people so creative that they can make something amazing out of what most other people think is junk. I am so thankful to Thomas Dambo for creating something wonderful out of nothing! Am very thankful it wasn't damaged by the nearby wildfire.

So this was an unexpected experience. I've lived in the area for almost 20 years and traveled down RT38 many times and never knew this sculpture existed. It is definitely off the beaten path. I was a bit nervous entering the driveway because it was a dirt road and I thought we were going to end up at someone's house. The dirt road opened up to a clearing and there was Big Rusty sitting there waiting to greet you! Behind her is an old building covered with graffiti. Great place for photo shoots. Big Rusty is a hidden treasure and everyone should take the time to visit her. I gave it 4 stars because of the dirt road leading to it.

Turning off the highway, you go down a quarter mile path that is surrounded by deep wilderness. You come to a large opening with a huge parking lot and an abandoned house. Resting on the side of the house is the 20 foot tall, troll Big Rusty with his left hand placed on top of the house.. he’s sitting there holding a large piece of trash in his right hand, as if about to take a big bite. Rusty looks like he was made from scrap metal leftover and he could come alive at any second. Along the grounds is an area you can walk around and it’s all covered in graffiti. The back area is a large courtyard. And there is a trail leading to the waters edge behind the house. This is definitely a hidden gem of New Jersey and worth taking a trip out to come visit when you’re here in the area.

Finally got a chance to take the 1 hour drive to see Big Rusty. The creation itself is impressive and certainly huge. Rusty is seen leaning against an old abandoned building. A lot of the graffiti on the buildings walls is also pretty awesome. Colorful and well drawn with little vulgarity. We had our dog with us and was very careful where we walked with her as there is some bits of broken glass scattered about. Wandering through the condemned buildings was creepy but also fascinating! We stayed for about 30 minutes before leaving. We were the only ones there but 2 more cars pulled in as we left. You may think this is not a good idea driving the road leading in but all is good. If you decide to check out Big Rusty tell him we said hi. 😄

When geo hunting, we came across this amazing man made sculpture made entirely out of recycled materials. This was previously some sort of factory (I'd presume) that is now abandoned but was made to be visited! Behind Big Rusty is a little area to walk down towards the water-it's a huge loop around the sculpture and the factory area but is worth seeing! The structure itself seems stable but is starting to fall apart -just be careful! The graffiti is also kind of cool, although I know some people may disagree. There were many writings that served as daily positive reminders to those needing it. (There were also some that weren't, those aren't pictured) #weirdnj

Amazing attraction! Loved going to Big Rusty and seeing the magnificent structure. Was amazingly put together and saw a lot of friendly people coming to visit. There’s a view of the South Bend area of Rancocas Creek. Loved the graffiti and being able to explore the place around Big Rusty.

This is such a cool piece of hidden art to come across, by a renowned Danish artist, in New Jersey of all places. Turn at the attorney’s office and just keep following the dirt road until you get to the spacious clearing. It’s impossible to miss. The gate was open when I went, but if it isn’t you can probably just park by it and walk the rest of the way. I was relieved my car and pop-up camper would fit and be able to comfortably turn back around. Lots of good graffiti, too. Please don’t litter.

Absolutely amazing! My little guy loved it! He also loved walking through the building and exploring. Some of the graffiti is pretty amazing! Doesn't take long to check out but definitely check it out! Rusty is incredible!
