My go-to for our vehicles. We’ve been using this shop since it opened and we’ve only had good experiences (not always good news but that’s car ownership). The team is professional and understanding; they listen to the issue and offer solutions (even my unique descriptions don’t faze them). They’ve never tried to upsell or take advantage of us.
Will and Paige were heroes today going above and beyond to make sure we could get the car taken care of!!

I had a fantastic experience at Pep Boys recently. Mr. Will handled my Tesla Model Y and did an outstanding job replacing all four of my tires and getting me back on the road as quickly as possible.
He kept me informed throughout the entire process, regularly updating me on the progress and making sure I knew what was happening at each step.
He went above and beyond to help me, by sourcing the tires from other pepboys stores and I sincerely appreciate the excellent service. Thank you!
I had an absolutely incredible experience at Pep Boys Hainesport, two employees who helped me were Paige (AM) & Will (PM). I get my Acura’s oil changed there regularly. Best method is to drop the car off in AM, uber to work nearby, & get a ride back after work. They’re both amazing to work with, follow up as soon as car is ready, & even make recommendations suitable for my needs. I couldn’t thank them both enough each & every time, I will be back & recommend Pep Boys Hainesport to anyone in the area! Thank you so much for your care & professionalism, I love it here!

After they botched a battery change and I had to leave my car with. The next day when checking in I phoned from another state and was told that they would “wait until tomorrow to strip the car for parts.”
Avoid this place at all costs. I only went because it was a Sunday and was trying to get back on the road with my child. Made the whole experience a nightmare.
Not very helpful - I wanted an alignment done on an electric vehicle and was told "we probably can't even do alignment because the car has sensors and we probably don't have the software to calibrate it since it's new".... From the first minute of our conversation, the woman at the front desk had nothing but attitude to give and made it clear that she/Pepboys couldn't be bothered with my ask for some reason. Just wanted an alignment... I went to Midas instead (they didn't have any issues aligning a new electric car with 'sensors')
On 01/20/26 I took my 2002 Honda Odyssey minivan in to diagnose a solid check engine light. The diagnostic code was P1456, and they said I neededa new evaporation canister, part no. 17011-sox-a50. The part was $1,969.14 and was non-refundable since they had to order it. Due to the impending snow storm that weekend, I decided to go ahead and pay. I later decided to call the local Honda dealer that they said they used, and asked for the price for part no. 17011-sox-a50, and it was $346.30. On 01/21/26 I called Pepboys to cancel transaction because I thought a $1,622.84 mark up was unreasonable. They said I agreed to it and was informed it was non-refundable when i paid. I said I didn't think at that time that I was going to be charged a massive markup but wasnot going to argue, and decided to deal with this matter a different way.
I filed a dispute for their charge with my credit card company. I took the van to a local mechanic for a second opinion, and he came up with the same diagnostic code, P1456, but said it was leaking fuel cap. Total cost including diagnostic, parts, labor, tax was $266.36.
If I continued with PepBoys, the installation would have been $648.28 - bringing the total bill for parts and labor to $2,865.14.
As I truly believe this was a willful act of ripping off TV he customer, I filed a complaint with PepBoy's headquarters. I do not think these people are reputable and I would never recommend them.
Paige was a awesome help getting me new tires. I wanted a different brand which they didn't have in stock but she worked out a deal that was just as good as the ones I wanted. Edwin was also great very informative and thorough with my vehicle. Will definitely do business with them again
I had originally missed the appointment for oil change, but the staff was able to service my car in reasonable time. The staff also explained the upcoming services I should be expecting at my next oil change, and the estimated cost. I will come back for my next oil change.
I recently had a new battery installed at this location. I had made an appointment and my car was taken into the shop right on time. An electrical system check was conducted and a new battery installed. The work was performed properly and efficiently. Kevin, the Service Advisor, was personable and knowledgeable and easy to work with. Very happy with the work and overall experience.
Kevin, Will, & the mechanic that worked on my car (I apologize but I do not recall his name at this time), were very helpful & efficient. They made sure I understood what services I was getting & checked with me before completing additional checks that my car prompted. They were also kind enough to bring me to my car show me something they were concerned about & gave advice for the best course of action! One of my best visits to this Pep Boys!
If you can afford to take your vehicle to the dealer, do so. This shop can only perform limited tasks, especially on hybrid vehicles.
Ensure statement of work matches exactly the reason for your visit.
Request person entering SOW to confirm what is being keyed/summarized in the work order before accepting service.
Front desk will become unresponsive or confrontational if they feel a mismatch has occurred.
Also very unprofessional to discuss customer details (funds/appearance/perception) in waiting areas when other customers are present.
We all have tough days but the behavior is just rude. Please do better!
Stopped by for a headlamp bulb replacement which I've had done there before as it's difficult to get to the front lamps without a lift on 2011 GMC Acadia. I was told just come back the next day at 1 to get that in and schedule some upcoming work. Upon arrival I was informed that this could not be done and they were full. Even after informing them I had spoken to an associate to come by at this time without filing out anything after I had asked, and I intend to schedule future work, the manager informed me she wishes there was something she could do but was incapable. I'd say it was sub par customer service but I don't think there was any.
Not a trustworthy shop. I went in for a tire special and was quoted a price on line and prepaid. When I went in they asked that I sign off and I didnt realize they added an alignment to the bill. Beware this shop adds on work to the bill and then has you sign off hoping you dont notice they added items. They then told me I ask for the alignment which I did not.
We had a great experience at Pep Boys in Hainesport . We had a terrible experience at a prior place with replacing tires for our truck at and decided to come to Pep boys instead. And they made our day. They were all friendly, professional, and had patience and they replaced our tires with no problems at all. Highly recommended!
The staff was very friendly and seemed to really know their stuff. The prices were very reasonable. It does get very busy so I recommend making an appointment and going early in the morning if you can.
They did a great job with my tires. Will made sure they brought over a set of four to get the job done. Nice waiting area while I waited to get car the finished.
Went in with a small nail in the middle of my tire. It was new tire. Simple plug would do the job, but after waiting 2 hours that small nail in the middle of the tire, jumped out of the hole and caused another hole, Of course on the side wall, so the sales pitch, you need a new tire.. if there was a second hold in the tire they did it. Paid my 30 bucks and left, should of read the reviews first.. another lost customer.
Chase and tech Aaron were awesome, got me in and out! The store was clean and the staff was polite. I will be returning in future and bring'n pizza!! That visit help in more ways then just a automotive repair.
Bob was very polite and very resourceful and helpful in assisting me with the exact items and tools I needed to replace and install my trucks battery. With the proper tools, I may not have spent 4 hrs trying to get it out. With the New tools Bob recommended, it was a quicker install.
I will never recommend anyone here please do not come here. I bought tires here for my Ford pick up truck, BF good riches. I had them mounted and balanced by somebody else that is ASE certified. Pep Boys, recommended me the tires because I live on a farm. I cannot tell you how unsatisfied I am with these tires. I had a stone go through my tire. When do you see a stone go through a tire. Never. I went back to Pep Boys to explain what happened and to possibly get it fixed.. They did not want to grant my warranty that I had on these tires. Not even to fix it. They refused any type of service for me when I walked in there. Not even to patch or plug it. Like I said, I will never recommend anyone in the world even if they are the only ones that sell tires to go to Pep Boys in Hainesport. Kevin was the person I spoke to in Pep Boys and he inconsiderately refused service on my tire. I asked to speak to a manager and he failed to answer why I cannot speak with the manager. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated. I want a set of tires that are suitable for my farm and not ones that stones go through.
Had a puncture in a tire and took it to Hainesport Pep Boys. I expected them to say that the tire couldn't be patched (most places just want to replace tires these days), but the technician was able to patch the tire. He could have oversold the repair, but he was honest about it and I appreciate that a lot. I received text updates during the repair and was promptly notified when the repair was complete.
I went to get an oil change and everything was wonderful! Paige is great, she recommended me tires, and other services I needed and gave me really good explanation! My car was done very quickly. I will be retuning
I’ve taken both my cars here a few times. Outstanding service. Their customer service is exceptional and they were quick and efficient with both of my vehicles. I will most def be back!
Nothing but great things to say!! I came in with a busted tire with wire showing and left with 2 brand news tire installed at a great price in less then an hour!! I live an hour away so I’m thankful for the help from the desk and quick care. Recommend!!
Disclaimer- I DO NOT want a generic “we’re sorry” copy-paste, chat gbt response from this Pep Boys location. I’m writing this so other people are aware and maybe change their minds about stepping foot into this establishment.
I almost never leave reviews, but the Hainesport Pep Boys was such a nightmare that I have to. They overcharged me, billed me for multiple items, worked on my car without me being able to authorize the price , and took way longer then said. In addition to all of that- they talked to me like I was stupid. I honestly felt completely taken advantage of because I’m a young woman. I might not be a dictionary for the study of cars - I was just trying to get my oil changed and a new battery.
To make matters worse, the blonde girl at the front desk was rude, dismissive, and clearly not cut out for customer service. If this is her idea of customer service, she’s in the wrong career. It’s really not that hard to be nice, hopefully she’ll figure that out somewhere outside of working with the public.
And judging by the other complaints, I’m not the only one. Those customers deserve their money back - or better yet, this place shouldn’t even be open if this is how they operate.
The only reason I’m even leaving one star is because headquarters admitted I was overcharged and refunded me. Otherwise, this would be zero. Save yourself the time, money, and aggravation. Don’t bring your car here.
Went for an oil change and expected to have a long wait but they were super quick and efficient! And the price wasn't bad either compared to what they charge me at the dealership. Will definitely be coming back!
Great experience. Dropped car off in the morning with a flat tire. They called me before lunch to tell me that my car was ready for pick up and they were able to repair it. No hard sell to purchase a new tire. Excellent front desk service; I was greeted and processed without delay.
Terrible experience and elder abuse. I sent my poor mother there to have a simple headlight bulb installed. Not only did they not install the headlight they charged her 242.56 to have a light in the back of the car fixed. I called to have this rectified, they told me to to come in at 8:30 Saturday, the next day. So I did without my mom this time. They then told me they couldn’t do anything about and that I now had to come back on Monday. When asked why I was told to come in this day and not Monday. They had no good reason. They were just playing games with me. My mom took pictures of the missing headlight bulb in the parking lot of the establishment and was too scared to go back in and tell them. She felt abused and mistreated. I asked for a refund to have the work done elsewhere and they refused even though. I did not get my headlight fixed.
