Bought a car there after a few months engine light came on ran a bunch of tests now to find out that it needs a new engine stay away from this place there is a lemon law that i will contact

Don't recommend nobody to go buy a vehicle to this either. They couldn't even get you a get me a spare tire for the car said that they did all types of things. We never did so that, as is basically sold me. A lemon couldn't send me the title or registration for the car in 6 months. And when I finally got the registration to use the vehicle, the vehicle broke down. Couldn't get an answer from them.Always giving me the runaround waste of money, say no.Responsibility for it anything they sold me

Let me tell you something. Majority of my life, purchasing cars has been a day I’ve been excited for but also dread because of the shenanigans involved with the industry. Big Lou and Les over at Payless Auto on River Dr in Garfield made this process the easiest ever. Highly recommend you shopping here EVERYTIME YOU NEED A CAR.

I purchased a 2011 X6M which had accident they didn't tell me Valve leak which I was told when I got a oil change they 20 000 and I gave them 5 500 trade which they low ball me for a 2008 tundra

Thank you big Lou! I spoke to him on the phone, then flew out from Michigan. They walked me around it , took it for a nice long test drive, they answered all my questions. They addressed the few minor issues I had immediately , was unable to get the dash vents to blow but all other HVAC worked wonderfully. Bought the van, then sightseen around the area for a few hours then drove it 12 hr straight home to Michigan. I had no problems, the van drove beautiful with no issues. Didn't shut it off for more than 15 hours and had zero problems. Thanks again big Lou. Will be back if I need another one. Would recommend your lot.

Bought a van from les and big lou .. while I was driving it home after the sale i felt some heat on my foot and then found that the ENTIRE FLOOR was completely rotted out and missing .. this was on the driver side .. I called big lou as soon as I got home to tell him about it and he assured me he would speak to the owner about this issue .. I also let him know that the transmission was slipping and there were a few electrical issues involving the interior lights .. lou did NOT tell his boss (shocker) .. so then i decided to just show up with the van at the dealership and show it to him (les) in person .. fortunately Les was there when I came by byt had not recieved any message about these issues from lou .. to his credit (the only credit he deserves) he got the floor fixed at a local muffler shop the next week .. initially I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he didnt know about the floors condition (not sure how thats possible, but I did). As of now and given the absolutly gross unprofessionalism of this man i am now convinced he 10000% knew about its issues and thought he could just get over on yet again another person .. now as im attempting to get the rest of the issues fixed I am being COMPLETELY IGNORED! !!! several calls .. numerous emails .. and NOTHING .. THESE GUYS WILL SELL YOU AN UNSAFE VEHICLE AND NOT BE CONCERNED 1 BIT .. BUYER BEWARE .. I really should have come and checked the reviews before shopping there .. but this van was my dream and given my good nature i foolishly got a bit overzealous thinking people can be trusted to do the right thing .. I bought a Ford a few months ago and the engine and transmission were damaged. It had more mills than the car said it would have. The owner is a liar and so are the workers. First they tell you everything is fine and when there are complaints they don't respond. They sell you a paranoia that is a lie. Personally, I feel scammed. They are liars. When I called the police, they told me, "Now men, we will help you." They are liars. Don't buy cars here. These cars that they sell are badly damaged and they are not responsible. Tenant beware, friends. This is the worst car dealership in New Jersey.

Where do I even start? I went to purchase a vehicle from Payless auto in September of last year. I was buying the car from out of state. Everything was going great until they called me and told me the car failed inspection - and they couldn’t sell it to me. I had to fight tooth and nail to get my money back from these guys - and I didn’t even get it all back. They took a $500 deposit to hold the car in my name. Then I paid for the vehicle in full. Upon being notified of the failed inspection - I called them for weeks on end trying to get my $7000 back. The $500 deposit? It’s as if they have no records of it. I have called these guys at least 20 times since October in search of my deposit money back. And it’s always the same response “oh we will get it to you soon” “Oh I will have the manager take care of it” Yet nothing ever happens. I shouldn’t be surprised - it’s a used car dealership in New Jersey. But seriously? I’m quite close to filing a civil complaint against these guys - take your business elsewhere!! If you are a manager at Payless Auto Wholesale - and you would like to see this review removed - why don’t you get me my money back that you’ve been withholding for months. Then we can talk. Went to pay less auto wholesales in good faith met The owner Les, Les appeared To be a honest man of his word told me that if I had any problems. With the vehicle to let him know that he would take care of the labor if I paid for the parts. I travel 2 and a 1/2 hours to get home only for the vehicle not to start and the AC which he repaired not to work when I contacted Les to speak to him about ( which took me 2 weeks to get a hold of him) about what happened. He was more concerned with a $400 closing fee than my problem. Not only did he go back on his word. He refused to even engage in the thought of trying to make it right. In fact, he told me. I should have purchased a warranty and I wouldn't have this problem. But he forgot the problem. I had was having was one that he was supposed to have fixed. It cost me $750 iN parts to repair the problem and $350 in labor And a $100 in towing. which he paid no part of and Would not engage in any conversation about him paying any part of. In fact, once he got his money. That's all that counted. I was out the door on to the next one. Make sure anything you get from him is in writing. Make sure anything your promise to you is done on premises. Before you leave Witb the vehicle. A man or a woman is only as good as there word. That doesn't apply hear.

I bought a 2019 Metris van with them and the car didn’t have the vin number the one in the windshield, so the car wouldn’t pass in ct inspection, so they told me to check it out with Mercedes dealer and I did the price was $16 hundred and to help them out I said I would pay half , at the end the dealer only charged me $1000 and I paid everything and Mr Les told me he will send me the money never received till today! So beware of do business with them he know I was fair with them because my lawyer told me to return the car . If I receive the money I will be back to this page but again be aware with this dealer. Les you never sent me the money show the proof and the dealer never used your account you are not telling the truth send me the money that you promised and I delete the review otherwise will stay here.

2nd edit: now I had a minor fender bender and when it was taken to the shop, it turns out that when they put it on the lift the frame is bending and crackling cause it's so rusted. I told him I I had rust issues with my last truck anf he had me drive to NJ from CT after lying and saying it wasn't rusty. Then when I called out the hole in the frame he said that's the only spot the rest is just surface rust, which was bullshit. They are liars who stole 10000 dollars from me, knowing Im poor and used my entire life savings to buy it. They act nice but it's to sell vehicles that turn out ste dangerous to drive. DO NOT BUY cars from them. **edit: now I'm trying to change the oil and the drain plug must have been leaking cause it's so tight that I can't get it off. I know they did this cause the oil was brand new when I picked it up. I've literally broken two tools trying to get it off. Clearly they fo whatever it takes to get problem vehicles out the doors long as you give them your hard earned money fo them. Oh, and I've had to continuously add transmission fluid to keep this thing going. What ever happened to pride in your work?!?** I bought a ram trx4 from them. I was coming from CT and I needed a vehicle asap. I told them if it was rusty I'm not buying it and so don't make me come down for nothing. I got there and there was some rust but it had a six inch by two inch hole in the frame but it dove well otherwise so since I needed it asap I got it. Once I started driving it the ball joints started squeaking badly, which it didn't do in the test drive. They probably oiled them up to hide it and it eventually, after a day of driving it the squeaking started. It was also leaking tranny fluid which I only found out after it put itself in "limp" mode and it was completely out of tranny fluid. It also started overheating cause it needed a thermostat and when I connected to the aftermarket stereo with my phone I found out it boot loops basically Everytime I drive it. It usually works if I don't connect to it but with Bluetooth or Android auto it will most of the time just keep resetting, tho it sometimes works. It is a nice truck but it would have been nice to know ahead of time so I could have paid a fair price considering the ball joints, the radio, the thermostat, the leaking tranny. The guy was actually nice and out of frustration I put some stuff in her that was mean but I deleted it. He was nice to me and other than those issues the truck is really nice n I do like it but I should have paid 3000 less for it, give or take

they were deceptive about providing vehicle history report. Purchased my own and found out the car they were trying to sell had 10 previous owners and 2 accidents including frame damage. They claimed they did not have access to the vehicle history reports from autocheck or carfax. Every dealer in the world uses these services . Sketchy place. They also pay for fake reviews on here. I was initially very happy with the service while purchasing an affordable, seemingly well-maintained 2013 Nissan Juke. However, within months of purchasing a car here, albeit past the 90 day warranty, the car began to sputter and shut off at very inconvenient times. When I advised the staff here of the issues, despite offering to assist with any problems I might have in their shop, they told me they didn't have any time in their schedule to fix my car, but they would help me diagnose my issue. I'm now looking for a new car.

IF YOU ARE YOUNG AND LOOKING TO BUY YOUR FIRST CAR DO NOT COME HERE! First off this place is an absolute joke and I can’t wait to the bullshit response they come up with to this review ? Me and my partner came here looking for a Nissan and found a 2014 Altima that had everything we were looking for. Everything was smooth and they assured us multiple times that they were going to take care of everything for us INCLUDING PLATES AND REGISTRATION. that was four months ago and it’s now January and still no plates. Everytime we call we get told to call back or hung up on. We’ve been told multiple excuses like they don’t know what’s going on, they’ve checked and it’s on its way and straight up that they don’t have it. This place could not be more of a joke and the salesmen don’t care about you. I’m not sure if it’s our age or because we’re first time buyers but these people love to take advantage and are our biggest regret. So if you’re young and looking to purchase your first car, LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE. I’m honestly surprised they’re even in business but hope they get what’s coming to them soon ?

Payless auto wholesale use to operate in nyc in the Bronx and has since closed down. The owner has then opened a shop in nj and selling damaged cars. I took him to court for the horrible service he provided . I won my case however did not persue any further because of the harassment from him. Would not recommend spending your money here. Worse experience ever . I’m sure he will attempt to reply to this review to defend himself. Consumers be ware he has been sued various times and all this info is online . There are also reports with the better business Bureau in regards to his fraud.

UPDATE April 2024: I was forced by this dealership to take this review down when filing an insurance claim. They outright refused to send my bank the cars bill of sale required for the process. Extorted me to take this review down in order for them to finally send the paperwork (after 3 tries they finally got the right address) in order for me to complete the process. They also never transferred the title from the previous owner to themselves before selling me the vehicle, causing the DMV to have to track down this previous owner for verification. Again causing many, many more delays. Just now putting this review back up as the process has finally ended.. Wanted to make sure they couldn't mess up the process anymore than they already had. October 2021: Purchased a car from them and had it shipped cross country so all of my interactions with the dealer were either over the phone or online. Took about 3 months from purchase date to get the car to me because they repeatedly sent paperwork to the wrong location. After asking them to change the address (i had moved) it was sent to my prior address (happened 4 separate times). For about 5 days they did not answer a phone call, text, or email, after they returned i was told one employee was on vacation and the other had covid. While I understand vacations and sick leave they didn't even bother to let me know, and they're voicemail box was full, with no message about the leave. After finally getting the car ready for shipping i was promised a set of tires and rims to make up for the delays. No surprise to me they weren't in the car. Now finally on day of delivery i receive the car and it's battery is dead, and the car has 15 miles of gas in it. Rear axle blown, as well as all wheel speed sensors, and rear left baring assembly. I called to ask for reimbursement to replace the battery and i was told i was getting a call right back on a different line... Still waiting on the return call. Don't buy from these people, buying and shipping a car off facebook marketplace would have been easier. Lou was straight up irritating to work with. Update / Reply May 2024: I'm sure you do remember the circumstances. In no way were we requesting the dealership to be held responsible, that is laughable honestly. We needed the bill of sale to make a claim on it at all for our own insurance, sense the title was not transferred properly (by you). "Weather conditions" were not the excuses you used in the past, rather a vacation and COVID diagnosis. Which was again told to me after a full week of no communication. At no point was the delivery truck responsible for the delays "due to outside circumstances". No weather issues reported by the truck company. I informed you of the window of arrival which was all I was given, and I never heard anything back or anything about renovations.. once again. Once the car arrived without the wheels I did reach out and was told to "figure out shipment". I sent over a greyhound quote to ship from your location to mine and you denied the quote, regardless of how payment was split. I was plenty reasonable, and respectful especially after dealing with these issues. Hilarious that all review responses are you saying its the customers fault or "circumstances outside of anyone control". No I am not calling your chop shop to waste my time hahaha!

Bought a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT last week with a couple mods on it (tints, cold air intake, wheels, etc.) Looks and runs beautifully, very happy with my purchase, only wish negotiating went a little smoother but all around great deal.

So I just purchased my from Payless auto Wholesale and my experience was very good. From beginning to end! They were very friendly on the phone and when we arrived we were greeted pleasantly. Ive had negative encounters with other dealerships in the past even to the point where I had to walk away, but PAW were very nice to me and made me feel comfortable. They offered me a test drive and had one of the workers come with me since I wasn't familiar with the area ( I was coming from 2 hours away). I like this place because they didn't force me to do anything, they listened to me, didn't put pressure on me, were willing to negotiate and they explained everything to me that I was signing. I really appreciated that. No games and no gimmicks. They worked with me and I really like my car ! My mother and brother will definitely be here next. Thank you guys so much : )
