UPDATE: Still the best. Since my review I've used Derek for various services on my 4 cars. He is the only mechanic I'll use. In fact, I now only use him for basic oil changes too.

I could not be more impressed. From the initial phone call to the drop-off to the pickup, excellent and 100% professional. Top-notch work and German made parts. This is my new mechanic. I used to use Millstone Getty, and they're good too. But Derrick is better IMHO.
Very good experience here! We got repairs done on 3 cars in the last month and they are very reasonable and can get you in the same week, diagnose the issue and fix it.

I came for an oil change on the recommendation of a friend. I was able to get an appointment quickly and the work was done quickly, too. I sat in the waiting area where there is a sofa, coffee table and large TV. When finished, they thoughtfully parked my car so that it would be easy for me to exit the lot.
Derek’s has helped me out a lot, as I am someone who doesn’t know much about cars. Between my old car and current, they have constantly provided me amazing service and help for all of the niche issues that I’ve had.
Had a great experience with Derek’s Auto. Staff is friendly, they quickly fixed my 4runner the same day I dropped it off, and are honest and have really fair prices. So happy and relieved to have found an awesome reliable mechanic!
Derek’s has saved me multiple times with work on my engine and replacing a wheel bearing without unnecessarily insisting on replacing the other one. Derek does great work with competitive low prices. I highly recommend the services to anyone.
This is the first time I ever used his service because a friend’s referral. I think Derek is one of the most honest technicians you will ever encounter. When I call him he gave me a very short and straightforward answer on the potential cost of the repair in a few possible situations, what is the best and worst case scenarios and what could be done to save while not compromising safety. There is no dancing around like some other sales/techs I have encountered in other places. There is no enticing technics, and all with very trusting communication manners. You know by talking with him for a minute that he is not sucking up to you to get you to spend money and he is definitely not giving you a bad attitude thinking he already treats you fair. Last but not least - I have never left a mechanics shop paying less than initially estimated with jobs well done, just amazing
I went to several places, but Derecks Auto gave me the best and most fair price. They were very kind and will answer any and all questions you may have. They are professionals and know what they are doing. Im very pleased with the work they did on my car and plan to come here anytime my car needs something fixed.
They’re super friendly and understanding they know exactly what to do, I literally went for an oil change and he checked my whole car and told me something was wrong and then fixed it! not overpriced, recommend this 100%
Derek's is excellent, they provide very honest and accurate estimates, as well as great service for your vehicles. Definitely a family mechanic. They will take care of you.
I came to Derek's shop since my brother had a good experience with him replacing his wheel bearings. I thought my car had the same issue but after Derek checked it was the tires. Thank you for your help Derek :)
My family and I have used Derek's Auto several times over the years and they are everything you want in a repair shop -Fair,honest, and trustworthy. Derek and Isabel are such great people that often go above and beyond to take care of everything that you need. They treat you like family. I highly recommend them for all of your auto repairs.

Our family has been using Derek's Auto for a few years now. I first went there at the recommendation of a coworker. We've had four of our vehicles serviced from oil changes, to brakes, to other repairs. The owners are very nice, trustworthy, and Derek knows what he's doing. We drive from Franklin Township Somerset area, because we're very happy with them.
I'm so happy to have found Derek's. Took my 05 Saturn Vue in for some brake issues and they fixed it within a day. Picked it up the next day and my car wasn't starting after I got it home so we took it back to Derek's. He explained the issue and what happened (my fault) and told me how to remedy the issue myself. No charge..I'm impressed with Derek's courtesy and honesty as well as the staff-the receptionist is SO KIND and pleasant. I have found my new mechanic and will be doing business with Derek's again!

Came to Derek years ago to get a problem fixed another mechanic couldn't solve and he figured it out quickly, have been going here ever since.
I have been taking my cars to Derek since I was old enough to drive and I can honestly say that he is an incredibly honest, reliable mechanic, and a great person in general. My parents had been taking their cars to his shop for years, and in probably 15+ years of service he has always been extremely generous and easy to deal with. If you live in the Manville/Hillsborough/Somerset County area and you're looking for a mechanic, you're doing yourself a disservice by not taking your car to Derek.
