My car broke down this past weekend on the Spaulding Turnpike in Rochester. Joe & Cheryl from Rochester Truck came to my rescue and helped make an extremely stressful situation less stressful. They were absolutely wonderful and I cannot thank them enough!

I manage the tree division for Northeast Landcare. We recently had our 60 foot bucket truck in for issues with the hydraulic boom. Not only was this issue diagnosed immediately, but we were updated every step of the way. We expected to be without our truck for about a month but it was done in just over a week, that is including ordering a very specific part. I couldn't be more pleased with how I was treated or how quickly we were able to get our truck back to work.

We had an electrical issue with our 2023 motorhome (MH). The MH would not start. My husband tried jump starting the MH with no luck. Rochester Truck sent out a mobile technician, Noah within a couple of hours. Noah was pleasant, knowledgeable, and had the issue resolved quickly!! I highly recommend this company! By sending a technician to us, we were saved having to tow the MH and all the costs and issues that entails. Thank You Noah and Rochester Truck!!!

This is only in regard to truck rentals, the guy was very informative and nice. We didn't end up renting for paperwork reasons but very nice and seems to have good options with liftgates and non-cdl options. Would recommend for rentals! Have not used them for any repair or towing.

This is probably the first 1-star review I’ve ever left — and I own a business that relies heavily on reviews, so I understand how important they are. But there’s a reason this place has a 3.8 rating. On Monday, August 4th, my 4x6 trailer broke down in New Hampshire. Since I live in Maine, I was trying to find someone nearby who could fix it. I first went to a mechanic shop where the tech quickly diagnosed a bad hub, but they didn’t have the part in stock. After calling around, someone recommended Rochester Truck. When their mechanic came out to take a look, he initially said it might be the axle — which would’ve been a much more expensive repair. I told him I didn’t think that was the issue. After about 20 minutes, he came back and confirmed it was the hub. I asked how much the part would be, and was told $70. (Later, I found the same part online — $65 for both sides, not just one.) I figured with labor, the total might come to around $200 max, especially for what I was told would take about an hour. I drove back on Tuesday, August 5th — another hour each way — to pick up the trailer, and was surprised to be told the total was $450. That’s $170 more than expected, and more than I originally paid for the trailer itself ($400). When I asked how they came up with that amount, I received vague explanations about inspection time and checking other things. I’ve worked on vehicles before and know how long this job takes. Even ChatGPT (yes, I checked) estimates: In a professional shop: ✅ Estimated time: 20 to 30 minutes per hub The process: 1. Jack up the trailer 2. Remove the wheel 3. Remove cotter pin, castle nut, and washer 4. Slide off the old hub and slide on the new (pre-greased) one 5. Reinstall everything and lower the trailer They rounded the labor up to two full hours. I can only assume that time includes things like breaks or delays — but to be clear, that’s just my assumption, otherwise, I cannot justify the extra hour. I let the manager know that I’d be leaving a review — not because I can’t afford the extra $170, but because others who care about where their money goes deserve to know what to expect. I don’t mind paying fair prices for honest work, but in this case, the cost was excessive and poorly explained.

We were fortunate to have been guided to Rochester Truck. We’ve learned that not every garage can repair an RV, but Rochester Truck was willing to take on the challenge. Being from out of state we entrusted the company to not only tow, but put our RV on their busy schedule. It was a long wait but we were kept updated by their receptionist regarding the status. They were able to properly diagnose and repair the vehicle and gave us a call it was ready for pick up. Not only were the employees respectful of our property, but they were knowledgeable, kind and witty. All appreciated in our time of need. Thank you to the entire team at Rochester Truck! Our warmest regards.

I recently picked up my brother's car after it was towed in an accident and I couldn't believe how terribly we were treated. Mind you he was hospitalized the night of the accident. The charge for the tow is understandable but to charge three days of storage fees for a car being in a lot for less than 48 hours is absurd. The way we were treated by the associate was even worse, that's not how to run a business when you repeatedly hear "that's not my problem." When we are simply trying to explain our situation. I would change this review if I could speak with a manager or an owner.

Tows your car Friday for winter parking ban in a public lot. Then is closed for the weekend so you cant get your car back until Monday. AND charges $75/day storage when you'd actually like to pick up your car, but you can't. City of Rochester needs to use a tow company with weekend hours. Less than useless.

I’ll start by saying that Rochester Truck used to be awesome a long time ago. My father used them for his business from 1991 to 2003 and they were always fair and easy to do business with. However, since they sold to the Key Auto Group, they have gone down hill and a place to stay away from. I purchased a commercial service truck and wanted a local non-dealership to be my go-to for the truck. From the start I should’ve known that something was up. First PM with them was a full wet PM (including a transmission flush and filter) which took several days to do and they called telling me the transmission needed to be re-built for $10,000. I called BS as the truck was fine when I dropped off and magically the “error codes” went away a day later. Second issue was on a tow, they charged me $200 extra on a tow because they didn’t ask the size of my truck and they sent out their largest tow truck. Third issue was with the electrical harness for the service body. Was having a loss of power on different sides and the trailer harness. They stated the problem was fixed but after a week it came back. I found the problem myself. Main “junction box” had gunk in it and both pig tails on the rear of the truck were chaffed into the wires. Last problem was on a state inspection, exhaust manifold was leaking. They wanted $8,000 to $10,000 to fix the manifold gasket. I called around and the second most expensive shop was a dealership for $4,700 to $5,300 and a warranty to go with the job. There was a point of miscommunication at this point as well where the parts were ordered before payment was received (which is against their company policies) and I was left on the lamb to cover the parts. An agreement was made that I would cover “at-cost” total for the parts and we would go our separate ways. Instead, Rochester Truck bought them from their Key Auto RAM division at a dealer mark up and I had to pay over a $1,000 extra. Even with Rochester Truck taking advantage of me, I had Tri-City Dodge do the work, paid Rochester Truck for their parts, and still paid a lot less then having Rochester Truck do the job. All in all, my experiences with Rochester Truck were terrible and they proved that they are a money first company. They proved their mechanics don’t know what they are doing if their billable man hours are so high to complete a job (their book hours were about double that of a RAM dealer). I will never go back here and advise you all stay away as well.

Used them twice and ripped off BOTH times!! 1st time: vehicle brought in for a $10 door handle replacement and adjustments to a wheelchair lift. Final price 2nd time: Blew a spark plug. Although loud, the van was DRIVEN in to them. 2 days later got a call that the threads were damaged and they recommended replacing the engine heads (the engine only has 24,000 miles on it) and that it would be $3000-$7000 to complete or they could attempt to put in a helicoil insert but they could not guarantee that it would take. We opted to try the insert option. At this point we were told our vehicle was already apart and our current cost was $375 plus the cost of the inserts and the labor time of the repair. NEXT DAY receive a call that “there is no way for them to get at the location to do the repair without removing the engine and a bunch of other parts and we would be looking at around an additional 30 hours of labor.” We opted to stop at this point and have the van towed home. When we asked for our total we were given a price of $1305, with 410 of that being for the tow I called another company and had the vehicle towed For $250 saving me 160. I cannot see how the price jumped from $375 to $895 when they did not complete the job nor did they put the vehicle back together. With zero work being done other than realizing that they could not get at the location I do not see how I incurred in additional $500 in fees. I’m sure the mechanic didn’t attempt it for 4 solid hours- and the vehicle was not reassembled. The End result was I had a mobile mechanic come and do the job in my driveway with nothing more than a compressor and some hand tools. He did NOT have to remove the engine and it did NOT take 30 hours! Rochester truck will rip you off over and over! Their so-called qualified mechanics could not do in their shop what someone was able to do outside in the elements in my driveway with limited tools! And a vehicle that was DRIVEN in to them Was towed back DISASSEMBLED for a very hefty price. A family member who owns a very reputable motorcycle repair shop agreed that this was completely wrong. I will never be back and will advise any personal or business associates against ever using them!

Was told get there at 7am and they would get me in and out bc I had two other app't's.... 4 friggen hours later I'm still waiting....sent the guy out for a tow! They also said 4 bulbs were not working... funny I checked everything before I left, literly bc I was towing my vehicle behind and maybe 1 left bulb was not working correctly...brake and running lite maybe... 150 bucks for the bulbs, 80 bucks for inspection and 4.5 hrs later...missed both app'ts Seems dishonest bc they never showed me which ones were out ... just said had to be replaced if I wanted the sticker!! Our vehicle got towed due to a winter storm and us being parked on main st. And thats fine i get it. But when we called them after the pd told us they towed it the buisness cant help cause their hours are wrong. They are not open when they should be and refuse to help till monday. I will update this Monday when we get the car. Sadly already going into this with a negative mindset toward this buisness. They seem dishonest and underprepared. Kind of disrespectful to me.

Their hours are not correct, had my truck towed there after an accident, not my choice, and they wouldn’t let me get my stuff until someone paid for the tow, which I understand but they wouldn’t even let me get my house keys or my medication that I have in there. Then I show up when it is posted that they are open to get my things and there was no one there and no phone answers… they should at least post on their fence what their hours are because online it shows they are open and they are not. Such a waist of time and gas.

I had my RV inspected and a couple items looked at here. They were fast for getting in, and great once I got there. I worked with Jack and had a memorable experience. He was friendly and inviting, understanding and accommodating. They didn't push any work that wasn't necessary, and they did a great job with keeping their promises and timeliness. I would recommend this place to anyone needing truck or RV mechanical services.

As much as no one likes having their car towed, Mine was by this company. Long story short it was towed from a friends house for at the time unknown reasons. It was brought here. My dilemma let’s just say was one that no one could even make up. After 6 days of playing a crazy wild goose chase game(not their fault) I was finally able to get my car. They were the most patient, professional, helpful and caring people I have dealt with. I honestly can’t thank these people enough for helping me and dealing with my crazy crazy dilemma. One which I hope I never have again, nor they have to deal with again! Thank you again guys and gal ? for all your help!

Really pleased with their customer service. My husband and I both experienced such nice people, it was unexpected and honestly so refreshing. Usually you go to a repair shop and the staff treat you like you're a nuisance. We didn't come across any of that here, everyone was just so nice! Highly recommend!

I had a great experience with Rochester Truck. They handled our family’s RV checkup. They didn’t try to upsell on unnecessary work and were very pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend them.

Andy in the service department did a great job taking care of all my concerns. I had a few issues with the trailer he and his guys took care of all of them and even fabricated the gates to open further for me. Great job very happy with my experience.

Worked with Chris, he ordered the exact trailer I was looking for and it's perfect. He was knowledgeable, patient and helpful throughout the whole process. There was one other person that also helped at delivery, I don't remember his name but he was great too.

Thanks RT, just called looking for a little help diagnosing a problem with my starting system on my HINO. couldn't give me the time of day. Thanks for nothing. A few suggestions maybe a word of encouragement would have gone a long way. Its a cold world out there. Place wasn't so stuck up when HULK was there.

We bought a trailer to haul our tractor and traded in an enclosed utility trailer. They gave us an awesome deal on it along with a veterans discount. We looked into some place in Louden and they were snarky and low-balled us. We were very happy with the trailer and service!

I needed a fifth wheel hitch installed within a few days. These guys got it done with 1 days notice and the cost in the end was less than half what most had quoted. They charged for the actual labor, which turns out was less than the manufacturer's recommended. Great to work with and they did a perfect job.

My husband and I started our towing business and we purchased a used 2013 Hino tow truck here in May 2017. The truck immediately needed work, it would go into limp mode and kill all power within the first two months of owning. It was brought in to Rochester then for a laundry list of repairs that cost over $8k. Through the fall and winter of that year it had several other trips to the shop for nickel and dime repairs. Imagine the stress on a new business owner just trying to get going! That was just the beginning. Fast forward to May 2018, the start of a busy tourist season and lots of money to be made! The truck again is going into limp mode and cutting all power. We brought the truck back to Rochester May 9th, they racked up all sorts of labor hours troubleshooting the fuel system because they didn't want to replace the fuel pump unnecessarily. They racked up a labor bill near equal to the cost of the fuel pump. In the end, they ended up replacing the pump and fuel lines anyway, as well as a head gasket, water pump, injector rails, injectors. The truck was down until the first week of June 2018! The bill was over $12,000 and the truck was out of service for a month, so much revenue lost. Rochester refused to budge on any of these repair bills and stand behind the vehicle they sold. The entire time the truck is in the shop the sales team is trying to get us to just buy another truck while also telling us that we bought a lemon! Total repairs & maintenance expense for this truck in 2018: $34,964.08!!! Fast forward to December 27, 2018 we have front brakes on this truck worked on. The truck has pulled to the left every time you touch them since it was purchased and it is to a point where it is a safety issue. Total bill this time over $2700. January 1st Hino issues a recall stating that the brakes are recalled because they pull to the left when applied, and to bring the truck in to have them replaced at no charge. We call to ask why we are paying for brakes that should be no charge and again Rochester refuses to help at all. Sorry, that was before the recall. Yep it was, 4 whole days. As a business that appreciates their customers, especially a customer that has spent so much money with them, I would expect them to go above and beyond to help. Instead when I asked to speak with the service manager I was told there wasn't one available. I was given attitude by Andy over the phone as he gave me the number to call Hino directly to see if they would help us. Then told good luck. I have a call in to Hino, but got a voicemail. We will see if they will be any help I guess. I am writing this review because I see the owner replies to many of the other reviews and I feel they really need to hear our story, what is written here is just scratching the surface. I would like them to know just how frustrating and disappointing this experience has been. I manage a fleet of commercial trucks professionally and I have had similar issues with warranties and recalls. All of the vendors I work with have gone out of their way to rectify issues such as these, not given me a number to nowhere and wished me luck. I am completely baffled that Rochester truck won't lift a finger to try to go to bat for their customer. We really wanted to love you since you are the closest dealer, and it makes sense to have a great relationship with your service provider, but we are just not feeling valued as a customer.

I am from Ohio and inquired about a used truck they were selling. As the distance from Ohio to N.H. is more than a few hours, I asked that the truck be completely gone over so that I didn't waste a trip. The salesman agreed to pick me up at the bus station (after recommending I take a bus from Boston to a town near the dealership) he then forgot he had a dentist appointment and left me at the bus station for an extended period of time. Upon arrival, and starting the truck, it was nothing like described, it was leaking from three places and the frame (which I specifically inquired about) was swelled and separated ( a huge problem). I barely got an apology and a ride back to a bus station. $800 waste of travel expenses not including my time. Dishonest, and unprofessional operation.

They fixed a problem in one day the dealer in indy wasted a week on. Brought two different trucks here, with ongoing issues resolved when there is nothing anyone could do about it. Yard was secure. No suspicious activity within the premises. Nothing stolen or broken.
