MUST READ!!!!!!!!
Customer service over the phone has been extremely unprofessional. One of your drivers ran a red light on December 4th and totaled my van. When I called to request the correct information regarding the incident, the representative refused to provide it and also refused to give me her name.
At the scene, the driver who hit me was recorded yelling in my face to the point where bystanders had to intervene and tell him to back away. He claimed he “had the right of way even with a red light because his yellow blinking lights were on.” Both the responding officers and witnesses confirmed that this is not true. The driver was found to have pulled out into traffic almost hitting two other cars, then goes in the wrong lane and then ran the red light. I also had an undercover cop who saw the whole accident as well. These people are arrogant and not trained correctly. The cops agreed. This silly guy was on his way to an accident and caused another!!! This guy also said to the cops how he was in fact informed by other police men he is indeed allowed to run a red light; the cops informed him right back very kindly that no, no sir no one ever said that.
When I called the company, I was told that all supervisors were “on vacation with one-way tickets,” and that I would only hear back when they chose to contact me. This response is unacceptable. The representative then hung up on me.
I have the call recorded and can provide it if needed to show how this situation was handled.
UPDATE AS OF 12-15-2025!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE GUY NEVER MADE THE REPORT!
this guy gave inaccurate information, which is on the police report, , but he got the wrong one this time! I also got a lawyer!
I personally filed the accident report, ensuring that all information provided to the insurance company was accurate and complete. I am in possession of the official police report and am willing to provide a copy with all identifying information redacted, clearly documenting what occurred.
What is most concerning is the lack of care and responsibility shown in this situation. Because of one reckless decision, my independence and ability to manage daily life were suddenly taken from me.
In response to the incident, I also sought medical attention through the emergency room and followed up with my primary care provider. These are the steps responsible adults take—addressing their health, documenting what occurred, and handling matters properly and promptly.
I am a college student and a parent to three children—ages 16, 12, and 7—who all attend different schools. The loss of my vehicle has meant the loss of reliable transportation for school drop-offs and pick-ups, attending classes, managing appointments, and fulfilling basic daily responsibilities. I have been forced to go without transportation entirely due to someone else’s carelessness.
With the holidays approaching, the financial impact has become even more overwhelming. Money that would normally be used for essential needs and holiday expenses for my children is now being spent trying to secure transportation. I have had to rely on others for rides, often accumulating IOUs just to keep up with daily responsibilities. This dependence has placed an additional financial and emotional burden on my family during an already difficult time.
This situation is not a minor inconvenience. It has had a direct and significant impact on my family’s stability, my education, and our day-to-day functioning, all as a result of a failure to act responsibly. I can only hope that accountability and responsibility are taken seriously moving forward.Dec 15, 2025 -
They have a contract with my apartment complex to tow irregular cars. My car was not violating any rules, but still got towed.
When I contact them, I was told that I had to pay to get my car back, and it wasn't until I contacted the police that they agree on releasing my car without cost.Dec 14, 2025 -
Be warned, they are predatory and will tow you within a short time of leaving your vehicle.
Need to be reported to better business bureau.Dec 12, 2025 -
If I could give this "business owner" 0 stars I would 100%. He is rude and disrespectful, wouldn't recommend to anyone. Save your money!

Absolutely horrible business. They have their teenage daughter working as a receptionist and the people who do the towing have no idea what they are doing. They damaged my car and WILL damage yours too! The way they tow will damage your car 100%. If you have to willingly get your car towed DO NOT COME HERE. THEY ALSO OVERCHARGE! If YOU PAID MORE THAN $175 (I paid 200 something and it looks like so did everyone else) you are being overcharged and it is against Manchester city laws. Please do not let these corrupt clueless men tow your car, take your business elsewhere where; your car will thank you in the long run.

SCAM ALERT
Be careful, everyone! They towed my car Sunday night while I was visiting my sick grandpa, even though I had a valid visitor sticker , at Oakbrook Condominiums in Manchester, NH.
To make it worse, they only accept cash . That should be an alert
And the guy there when I went to pick up my car? Absolutely awful , rude, disrespectful, just plain trash behavior.
Stay alert. Don’t let these scammers get you too. I have no idea why would anyone hire themOct 12, 2025 -
On Sept 3rd at approx 9:45pm I went out to put the convertible top up on my car, as I walked out the door I saw a tow truck backed up to my car, the boom was not engaged and my car was completely on the ground. I started telling the driver that I have a valid sticker on my rear window as required by Greenview village. As I was standing next to the truck, the driver lifted the back of my car off the ground. I repeated that my car has a valid permit sticker on the rear window as required by our association. He informed me that he was checking with dispatch, one would think at this point any reputable tow company would have told the driver to verify the permit and once verified, drop the car. Now anyone who knows Dan's Towing in Manchester knows that's not how they operate. The driver was instructed to collect $175 before dropping my car. As angry as I was at him initially, something about his demeanor reminded me it's not this guy's fault, he's just doing what dispatch instructed him to do. And of course tonight was his first night, which I only found out when I mentioned that my top is always up and he must have seen it on any previous time he had check out the lot. So it was 175 cash atm or 225 In the morning. And by now he and I are talking at normal tones as I kept repeating over and over to myself that it's not his fault he's just doing his job on his first night. As he was filling out the receipt for my 175 cash, I did put the top up and asked him to look and verify that my sticker was valid, which he did. Now I fully plan on speaking to the office in the morning about this and I'm pretty sure Ive kissed that 175 good bye for good.for now, I do plan on making sure that dans towing is following , to the letter, their agreement with our association. And if I find even the smallest error on their part I will be taking them to small claims court and I will happily follow this to a judge.

I had my car towed last night because of a registration mix up. The tow truck driver was nice and didnt charge me an extra day for the impound fee. Easy to work with.

They towed spouse’s car from apartment parking lot with an invalid reason. They mentioned that it was because car was unregistered, but it had stickers and inspection in the front, the rear was missing and was fully registered. They did not reach out to us via the apartment office or try any sort of communication. They did not notify us of towing, had to figure out using the tracker on the vehicle.
Turns out we were not the only one, they have done this to several others and it’s a known practice for them.
During the towing process they damaged our car. They have carefully crafted the pickup process so that they are not liable for any damages. You cannot checkout your car unless you pay. Once you pay they force you to sign a waiver which says you cannot hold them responsible for any damages during the towing process. They do the complete transaction in cash.
At the moment, I thought it was just my bad luck. But then after research turns out they are actually doing this to many people. Most have the same experience.

Even AI summary says the same. Check photo attached.Aug 28, 2025 -
You should fire your lady answering phones. You tow a newly registered vehicle because it's a day away from getting its inspection sticker 2 days after it's registered you should update your procedure. Pressing charges here I come

I had my car towed from Colonial Village in Manchester and retrieved it from Dan's City Towing. While I understand towing is never a pleasant experience, I encountered some communication issues that made the process more difficult than necessary.
I called ahead multiple times to confirm the $175 cash payment and was directed to the Shell station up the street to get cash since they don't accept cards or have an ATM. However, when I arrived to pick up my car, I was told they required exact change only - something that wasn't mentioned during my calls or when I was directed to the ATM.
This policy meant I had to pay more than the quoted $175, which was frustrating after making multiple calls to ensure I had the correct payment method and amount.
I want to acknowledge that I let my frustration get the better of me and was rude to the staff member who helped me. That was unprofessional on my part, and I apologize.
For future customers: I'd recommend asking specifically about their exact change policy when you call, as this wasn't communicated to me upfront.Jul 10, 2025 -
Whoever the driver was of this tow truck on July 1 at 11:27 PM in the colonial Village parking lot just tried to tow my car for no reason I have a parking permit. I have an inspection sticker and my registration is up-to-date. You’re mad because you can’t get money.

Staff is less than pleasant to engage with. Got hung up twice in the matter of two minutes by the person upfront after I was asking nicely about something. Customer service is poor. Definitely would never recommend them. I got my car towed for reversing into a parking spot. There is no discussion with the apartment complex about cars being towed for reversing in. The only reason they would be telling is for people with no parking permits or outdated registration. Thankfully, my apartment complex paid me back as there was no reason to my vehicle. Not to mention, they kept jacking up the price. Apartment complexes should be a Avoiding this company going forward, unless they want to lose tenants

This place is very suspicious as hell I got my car towed went to go pay for it and I had temporary license plates on the car, but when they pulled the car out of the lot for me, my temporary license plates were missing. The driver himself promised me that there was no license plates on the car, but when I went to go pay, I realize that he took photos of my car and when I looked closer Into the photos, my license plates were on the car then he jumped to the conclusion that the license plates must’ve flew off while he towed the car not only did he lied to me but they took my license plate off somehow I don’t know the reason for why they would do this, but it was funny catching the driver and a lie. I ended up calling 911 not much was done when they arrived, but this place is 100% if you get towed by this place good luck.

Doesn’t answer the phone and damage property without saying anything had my car towed by Dan city towing and they broke my bumper. Front office is unfortunately immature and very disorganized and rude.

Absolutely awful experience with Dan Towing in Manchester. I parked for just a few minutes at my aunt’s apartment to drop off some important medication—there was no available visitor parking, so I used a regular spot temporarily. By the time I came back out, my car was already gone. No warning, no grace period, nothing. I get that towing is part of the rules, but the way this company handled it was beyond aggressive and inconsiderate. On top of that, the fees were outrageous and they refused to explain the charges. It felt like a cash grab. I wouldn’t wish this kind of service on anyone. Avoid Dan Towing if you can.

Stay Away from Dan City Towing and Recovery!
I had a terrible experience with Dan City Towing in Manchester. They towed my car, and when I tried to ask why, the girl at the front desk was rude. Their fees were ridiculously high.
I even had a flat tire and asked if I could change it on their property, but they told me to leave and do it somewhere else. There was no kindness or understanding, just a money grab.
It feels like they’re working with my apartment management to take advantage of people. I highly recommend you avoid using their services. They’re rude, overpriced, and don’t care about people at all.Feb 19, 2025 -
One of your drivers needs to learn how to drive. Not only did he quickly cut me off with no blinker on south willow street, but I then watched as he proceeded to tailgate every person he was behind on the highway. No lights were on. ( I understand it is the law for people to move over when the tow trucks are approaching a scene etc. and when their lights are on and flashing) however this dude just doesn't know how to drive. Was more likely to cause an accident.

These are scammers. rude and arrogant. their job is to take people's money. They towed my car from my new home site without telling me. They charged me $340 for 6 miles. I will exercise all my legal rights.

Very upset a friend had her car towed today she is a disabled single mother of 2 on oxygen parked in a handicap spot at her own apartment which yes she should not have parked there.she was parked there cause she ran out of her o2 tank and was in house 10 min dans towed her car for 350$ would only take cash to get the car then when we arrive the woman on phone neglected to mention a gate fee like really so now at Christmas this single mom had to pay 425$ to get her car which was last of her money and can't even afford gifts for her kids since she was recently hospitalized and now disabled was told sorry guess you learned not to be in a handicap spot. OK I can see payingbthe 350 but your company could have waved the gate fee for this poor lady. (This is the type of world though we live in nobody cared for people anymore sure the hell not this place)

I wouldn’t even rate this place one star. There was only two people in this business that I would ever want to deal with again(woman at the front, and might have been a good day for him but Dan was easy to work with and understanding) Everyone els was very unprofessional, laying across the couch that’s for CUSTOMERS in the lobby, trying to put their nonchalant rude 2cents into CUSTOMERS business as they are tying to pay and deal with a situation (more then one occasion and not the same person they do this to each time).DO NOT GET TOWED HERE IF YOU PLAN TO TAKE A LOSS ON THE VEHICLE AFTER A CRASH. You need to pay the full bill to even look at the car. I’ve gone plenty of other places for family and friends with no issues like this. Also never had so many people laugh at me at a tow yard so that was weird.

Staff is very rude. There is one girl at the front that could not provide answers, yet carried herself like she knew everything. They do not listen or hear you out and are not willing to negotiate. They do not take card, but rather exact cash. Signs say ‘cash only’ not ‘exact cash only’ but they apparently don’t carry change? They refused to take $200 cash for an $175 transaction and told me I had 5 minutes to get the cash at the gas station (5 minutes away) before they threatened to close for the day. From that point you have to schedule an appointment with after hours dispatch. Also, if you got towed, they will not let you see car unless you sign documentation first. They will damage your car upon towing, once you sign the documentation that waives any of their responsibility to repair any damage they may have caused. Good luck if your windshield gets damaged in transition. Disaster of a business and terrible customer service. Zero empathy and morals. I wish you never find yourself inside those disheveled walls. I’d give this place 0/5 stars if I could. Stay away

Predatory towing company. Went to an event at an apartment complex where we were told to park near the club house. The property manager was notified about the event and supposedly informed the tow company. Within twenty minutes, we come out from the event to find our car missing. Had to wait in the rain for over an hour for someone to come and give us our car, because it was a Saturday. Also, they are cash only, which they didn't inform us of until we got to the towing office.

Predatory towing company. No other way to look at them.
My apartment complex signed a contract with them giving them permission to tow any unregistered or illegally parked cars.
The rear registration sticker on my girlfriend's car was missing so they towed her car, not taking the time or the 5 steps to check and see that the front registration sticker was still intact. When we got there the manager threatened to charge us the price of the tow when we were asking her why we were towed in the first place. The entire time one of the drivers was chuckling at us in the lobby as we were explaining the situation to the manager. We were not allowed to even look at the vehicle before being told to sign the release form "per company policy" absolving them of any damage or wrongdoing done to the vehicle.
Absolutely despicable people working there, and shame on any apartment complex or residential community that chooses to do business with them.Aug 23, 2024 -
Terrible. The fact that they are in business is disgusting. Slimy, conniving people working here. Towed my car in a VISITOR spot at my in laws apartment because it “didn’t have a permit”. IN A VISITOR SPOT! When I told the dispatcher this, she hung up on me.
They were slow on accidents due to a winter storm and no one was on the roads so they and looked for any and every car they could find to tow in order to make a buck. They only take cash, so conveniently, when I finally got the car back the tow truck driver didn’t have change. So instead of paying $225, I ended up paying $240. This guy must’ve been company mascot because he was the prime example of all the other negative reviews we saw on google for this company. Careful where you park your cars. Even visitor spots aren’t safe. Lots of evil in this world taking advantage of hard working people.Apr 04, 2024 -
Worst tow company in the history of tow companies. These people don’t have a heart. I’m not one to write negative reviews but this one is warranted. They have a contact with my landlord to tow from my building’s parking lot, they tried to tow my mom’s car from the guest parking where she was completely allowed to park. Another time I had a friend park in an open spot next to my car because our two guest parking spots were full and they got my friends back tires on the truck before I had time to make it downstairs. I pleaded with them to just let us move the car now that the guest parking spots were open and available, but he wouldn’t release the car without $180. Insane. They did the same thing to my car when I was saving my money to get it repaired and it didn’t have a current inspection yet and they tried to take my car out of my spot that I pay for and charge me $180. They are ruthless people who don’t care.

I rented a truck through Home Depot in Concord, NH. The truck lost its side view mirror and needed to be towed to Manchester, NH for repairs. Dan City came to pick up the rented Ford F-250 as it was safely in Home Depot’s parking lot. No danger surrounding the truck at the time of it being towed. Dan City charged my insurance company, Progressive, $420 dollar to tow my truck 24 miles. It’s the company Home Depot hired and I had zero say in it. Awful. Flat out awful. It’s totally legal but doesn’t make it right. It’s hopeless treatment of people.

My wife’s car was towed due to my mistake of parking where we shouldn’t have. While waiting for the tow shop to open. I decided to get some info on the company, location, opening time, cost. I also read several reviews, all negative. Mostly things like, “they were rude”, “They towed my car illegally”, so on.
So I went there expecting the worst. But I was greeted by a very nice woman seated behind the counter. She was friendly and helpful. After we completed our payment and release paperwork. I told the woman about reading the reviews and expecting the worst. Her very gracious response was basically. “When a person’s car is towed, they get upset and angry.” Mostly they believe they did nothing wrong,.” I” don’t take it personally.”
I’m writing this review to point out. Don’t believe everything you read in reviews. Most people are writing them when they’re angry and upset. They are venting. Usually people don’t take the time to write a review for a generally positive experience.
I took time to write this because, the woman I dealt with on that day. Was the complete opposite of the person I believed I’d meet that day. Based on what I read.Aug 19, 2023 -
Our vehicle had been stolen from our repair shop Friday night and we were extremely stressed over the situation. On Monday morning we got a call from police department that it was recovered and towed to Dan's City. My first phone call with Christina was very pleasant, the second time she was extremely helpful. When I went to pick up the car, the owner Dan was also very helpful with our situation. I was unaware of cash only policy but there is gas station up the road with ATM, so that was an easy fix. I would happily use them if I ever need a tow service!
