In early March 2025, my 2018 Porsche Macan S began jerking and slipping in 1st gear. To avoid further damage, I stopped driving it immediately. After researching the problem(mostly online forums) I found out the PDK transmission has a common failure issue w/ the mechatronic gasket. Which leads to valve body damage. So I bought the necessary gasket and valve body repair kit. I dont have a lift, so I called around town seeing who would be willing to do the work. Mostly everyone I talked to wanted nothing to do w/ Porsche PDK transmission repairs. But I finally was able to talk to German Motors, and they said they have some mechanics who have dealt w/ PDK issues before. So I set up the appointment, and brought the car and parts to them. Explained what was going on as best I could. Of course though, like most shops, they do their standard diagnostic routine. So I waited until the next business day, and I wasnt happy about the news they gave me @ 1st.
They concluded that they didn't recommend doing the repair I was requesting, and instead recommended replacing my entire transmission. A $20k+ job. My car warranty had just expired, so I told them that this repair kit service was my only option. They agreed to do it, but had me sign a "no fault" waiver, because there was no guarantee this would solve the issue. Which was 100% understandable. However, I was very confident this service would solve the problem, based on other online stories I had come across. So I was willing to spend the $ to at least try, before ripping out the entire transmission.
Low and behold, I got the call from them the next day telling me my car was driving and shifting like normal again after the test drive. After 3 months of stress, frustration, and being garaged, this fix saved me tens of thousands of dollars. I was finally able to drive it normally again, and I am very grateful that they were not only willing to do the repair, but I also helped them learn how to fix this particular issue w/ other similar PDK transmissions like mine. Because they are shared in many other German vehicle models.
Moshe was the guy who handled my service @ their front desk. He was very professional, patient, he listened to all my concerns, and didnt treat me like some idiot who didnt know anything. He even apologized to me for having some doubt about this repair even working. I got to walk back and meet the mechanic who was lucky enough to dissect my valve body, replace the gasket, and button up everything back to specs.

The picture posted, is the common failure point w/ the mechatronic gasket that lots of others have had the same issue with. Once the material strips away, transmission oil leaks in and starts to damage and/or throw off the normal operating functions of the valve body.
First time customer extremely pleased. I got in with an hour notice, and they got the car (Merc SL500) diagnosed and fixed the software problem while I waited. Actually they told me they were not sure everything was reset properly, but after a driving cycle all the little functions of the computer systems started working as designed. Definitely a return customer!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ German Motors saved me when my 2014 Audi Q7 decided to act up right before smog time. The diesel particulate filter (DPF) went out, and they were able to get the part in quickly so I could pass smog without dragging this out for weeks.
It wasn’t a cheap fix (DPF stuff never is), but they still came in noticeably lower than what Audi Henderson quoted me — which I really appreciated. Since the repair, I’ve had zero issues and the check engine light has stayed off.
Shoutout to Moshe for keeping me in the loop the whole time — clear communication, no runaround. And the girl at the front desk was an absolute delight. Everyone there was genuinely nice and professional.
If you’ve got an Audi and need people who know what they’re doing (and won’t treat you like a number), I’d definitely recommend German Motors.
Very thorough and the price was very reasonable I had several different quotes and they came in lower for waterpump replacement which isn’t an easy job. They ordered the part and it was completed the next morning! I would recommend them for European vehicles. The whole staff was very friendly and nice to work with.

I had a breakdown with my Jeep right outside their shop. Even though they are a German auto shop, they brought the Jeep in and got the water pump and thermostat repaired. New to town and tried German Motors for the first time to work on my GLC. Had oil, tranny, and diff fluid replaced. Also had them replace the motor mounts as the vibrations had gotten really bad.
Moshe and Jessica took great care of me from a service and communication perspective. We had a slight delay on getting the motor mounts, but I had another car and just left the GLC there.
The work performed seems solid. Pricing was fair, and better than the stealership.
I'd definitely give them a shot if you're looking for work on your European car and live in that neck of the woods!

My car broke down while I was out of town, I googled repair shops and found German Motors so I called them and was told to get my vehicle into them and they would be able to take a look at it, they diagnosed the problem, got the part and had me on the road in 4 hours, they are life savers! I was able to be home the same night 400 miles away. This all could have ended up really bad but it didnt because these guys are ALL fantastic!
We were on a road trip on our Mercedes sprinter Airstream Interstate to visit the Utah national parks from California. On the way, with temperatures around 100 degrees F, we realized that the AC was not cooling as it should. We were in Barstow and it was the evening, so I called German Motors in Las Vegas (on our route) who understood our situation and agreed to see us in the morning. Dave met us when we got there and made arrangements to resolve our issue. They topped up the coolant and added a dye to show up if there was a leak. We were back on the road in a couple of hours. I am extremely grateful for the deep understanding, empathy and professionalism by which they approached our situation. The work was expidited considering that we had a lot to drive and had to reach Zion NP before sundown. The estimate was reasonable and the final charge even lesser since it took less than the estimated coolant to top it.

We were traveling from Salt Lake City to California when an alert about a battery issue on my Mercedes popped up just outside of Vegas. My husband found German Motors online, called them to let them know i was coming, and they got me right in. They were amazing to work with. Gave me a new alternator and had me out of there within a couple of hours. Moshe was so great to work with. He was patient as I told him I was stressing about the cost of this repair as we were on our way to Disney. He was able to find me an alternator, save my basically brand new battery, and keep it within a price I was happy with. Plus they washed my car! It truly was so lucky we found them so we could still make it to CA that night and have the issue fixed. They were the best! My overall experience with German Motors is very positive. I work with Dave and Moshe and they are very accommodating and knowledgeable when trying to find the correct solution for your vehicle. German motors also beats out all these other car dealerships when it comes to price. They try to find the perfect price while still keeping safety and performance into play. Another positive thing is that they are able to work with extended warranties. Only negative is not providing a car like some of these dealerships, but that didn’t bother me as my warranty was able to cover my rental car.
