The customer service and communication via their website are outstanding. On the rare occasion that there has been an issue with recycling pick-up, which has only happened once every other year, it was quickly and efficiently resolved.

I visited Star City recycling for the first time today and was greatly impressed. The staff we're friendly and professional, and the manager/owner was very helpful explaining how things worked and what they could recycle. He even took my plastic bottles with my aluminum recycling and an old big flat screen TV that I needed to get rid of since it was broke. Highly recommend and I will definitely go back.

The work ethic of these employees is through the roof! The company works so hard to ensure that nothing gets wasted! If you want to work with a wonderful local recycler, look no further! They volunteered their time and staff for a local environmental event and they did not disappoint.

Had an appointment with Matt and he completely stood me up without any response after hours of preparation when he said he'd be there the previous day. What a waste of time. Not recommended!

We've only ever dropped off. But you can drop off 24/7. Thanks goodness for this company! Even take appliances and electronics. When we drop off during work hours they help unload and are the NICEST people. 6 stars would be better!

This company is terrible. Very un-professional. Never on time to pick items up. You will be better to recycle on you own.

I think they had a few issues to work out to begin with, but overall a great experience. The owner is one of the nicest guys I've ever dealt with. To me, it's not about the problems you have, but how they are taken care of and Star City will go above and beyond to take care of you.

We used them for several years, and only stuck with them because of the variety of things they take. But the lack of professionalism has just gotten to be too much. They would just not pick up for a week with no notice. I’d contact and would be told they were short staffed, there was bad weather, equipment issues, etc and they were just skipping that week. For a service that only happens once a week, it’s ridiculous to just skip a week. Also, there has never been a credit given to account for that. Billing has been messy and confused over the years. And now trying to cancel has been a ridiculous nightmare in which my emails have gone unanswered, phone wasn’t answered and voicemail was full, and they were just ignoring the fact that I’m telling them we are done. We switched to a different and cheaper company who has been far more professional from the start.

They've missed us several times with no reason given. They've switched days on us in the past without notifying us, when I called them out, they just stopped responding. They told me they were getting automatic billing about 5 years ago and thet would notify me when it happened, and I have yet to hear anything. They miss sending me a bill from time to time. I've been a customer for over a decade, and I'm cancelling service with them because I'm tired of it. (Edit: They literally missed my recycling on the day of my review with no notification. I am revising this to a 1 star review).

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! First, I didn't get my recycling picked up every week for like a month. A very nice lady on the phone did give me a month credit. But then I didn't get picked up again, and the owner told me that I had trash in my recycling which there was no trash mixed in with the recycling. He told me that the problem had been happening for a while, but for some reason did not bring it to my attention until that minute. He also tried to tell me he called me about late bills which was also a huge lie! The owner also complained he was the only one out there in 5 degree weather which apparently they don't have enough staff to pick up the recycling. Don't use them your trash service is probably cheaper ours is 8 bucks a month. And these people are liars and unreliable!!!!

I really appreciated the variety of items they would take. I paid ahead of the monthly service because I believed in what the were trying to accomplish. Suddenly without warning our service stopped. A month later we were notified our community would no longer have service. One day notice was given we have our last pickup day and turn in our bins. I discovered the email after the day of pickup. Billing and responses from this company are poor. Dissatisfied with this altogether.

This service takes the most variety of any service in Lincoln. They are committed to the cause and take things that aren't even profitable for them. I know they've had some staffing issues lately and pickup has been late, but I've used this service for eight years without issue and am confident they will work it out. Thank you Star City! You make my regular trash super tiny!!!

After doing well for awhile picking up the recycling they stopped picking it up on time and where in fact a few days late. I am a disabled person living in an apartment and I couldn't just have the recycling sitting out there and had to have someone throw it away twice.

Bad news people. Seen it with lots of costumers. They answer phone if lucky. Over their head... Don't show up. Seen this with my clients.

They return calls quickly (can I put in xyz) and we pay via check from our automated account at our bank (I assume the guy below who doesn't pay his bills was told the T&C's when he took the service, perhaps he should have thought about how he was going to manage his payments before he signed on.) Very glad to support a local small business.

These guys always do a great job for us and I'm so happy they will recycle most anything including glass which we could never do when we were in Omaha. The owner is always flexible and courteous.

Service is pretty good, not expensive, and they take a TON of stuff which is AWESOME!!! The totes are a bit small for cardboard boxes; I have to put them on top a lot. My pickup is Monday which occasionally sucks if it's a holiday or ice storm as they just skip me that week. Also, I occasionally don't get my tote out early enough . . . or maybe they skipped me that week. Regardless it sucks because my bin definitely cannot hold 2 weeks worth at my house and I have to start bagging the recycling which is a pain. Over all good, but definitely a small company without a the backups that a large company would have. Still, a larger company would charge more.

Hardly ever recieve an actual bill. When it does come, there is no return envelope. There is no way to pay online. The bill piles up because there are a billion other things to tend to. Then I start getting calls about my amount due being over $100 dollars. I call the number listed on the website to make a payment. They can't do payments over the phone, but apparently I can get up at the buttcrack of dawn to give my check to the pickup crew or maybe PayPal. I haven't used PayPal for years because it's way behind the times and is really screwy with it's authentication security. When I ask for my amount due, he says he's not at a computer, so can't look it up. This service is extremely unprofessional and in need of a major update.
