Best scrap yard in town. Good prices and cute girls. And the best outside carriers in the business!!

Scammers, they on purpose gave wrong price on copper, we had a lot of number 1 and they labeled it as number 2, after we unloaded everything.
Its not the first time this is happening
Suggesting to not sell your copper hereDec 18, 2025 -
Great place to get rid of scrap metal for cash. Also, they have the best pricing because all of the surrounding scrap yards transport their bulk here anyway because it's right on the train tracks.

Brought a compressor that I weighed beforee going my scale was totally correct it weighed 424 pounds when I got there they listed it as 260 pounds and did not list it as what it was I ended up taking about an 80 dollar loss after making them weigh it twice because I had things to do first problem I've had with them but they lost my business for sure

This place really offended me. I just moved here from Arkansas and I sell metals. I called to find out information and prices a few days ago and after the man on the phone bragged about being a 5 star nationwide chain and guaranteed the best prices for my metals informed me that anyone from Arkansas is not welcome because anyone from Arkansas is trying to bring their stolen metals up to Missouri to sell them easier. Not only was I shocked and offended for being discriminated against, I could not disagree more with him. It is all but impossible to sell any metals up here. Either they won't take a certain metal or they basically want you to do ate it to them at 20¢/pound. I see Missouri has scared their citizens so bad they just don't buy anything that may have been stolen due to its nature, although there are laws and procedures to follow that help ensure against buying any stolen metals and easily locate the thief if so. But no matter what the local economy is on the subject, discrimination is frowned on in any situation, when you're a national chain you're begging for a lawsuit. That reminds me, I need to contact a discrimination civil rights lawyer tomorrow. If nobody holds business owners responsible they'll continue to take advantage of the public. Shame on these folks for discriminating, I just can't believe it. If you can't believe it, call up and ask if you can sell metals with an Arkansas id, see if he's dumb enough to say it again.

Good experience for parents to get money but if I want to bring my kids to see how to recycle for earth you can’t because it’s a drive through they need bigger signs for there own rules and regulations

A few years back i took a truck load to this place including a heavy metal gate.
They paid me 79 cents.
Don't take mixed metal. Separate it and take it separately.
I'll never take my metal there again!Jun 11, 2025 -
Numerous times now taking different people to this scrap yard! The employees here are not putting my copper metals in the correct categories and on purpose. Only thing I can think is their changing the numbers around at the end of the day. They did this to me with my different brasses and coppers too! It's real quick and slick!

Service was straightforward and fast they helped to unload using the giant magnet. Would recommend.

Usually I'm in and out of this place. Pricing is average, seems based on market. Office feels a bit outdated, but seems to work fine.

The man at the scale is extremely slow and causes everything to get backed up. The women are much much faster and friendlier. Things seem to run smooth when the women are working the scale.

Usually I have a pretty good time with those folks . Overall this place gives competitive prices, but every once in a while you’ll get a worker who doesn’t need to work with the public from Their attitude towards customers to their lack of abilities to communicate effectively and in a timely manner. But that’s expected being scrapyard workers. Just wish they would treat people like they treat them and leave their home life drama outta the workplace.

Very easy to recycle aluminum cans and get paid. Pull up to the "small scale" area, wait your turn, they'll bring out a container for you to dump it in, they'll take your ID and print a receipt for you and you'll take that to the front office to get paid. There was a bit of a wait but once it came around to my turn it was fast.

Outstanding place to do business with! Bryan is so helpful at the small scale side. Very friendly people! Always working their butt off. Thanks so much! You guys rock from top to bottom!

I’m a third generation scrap metal hauler. This place was awful. The man running the magnet was terrible. He unloaded the trailer that was ahead of me by “pulling” the scrap metal off the sides of the trailer! I was then asked to pull to the side to unload by hand because that man was worried about breaking my back glass (over a ton of short steel). I reluctantly agreed and the worker pointed and said to unload it there and walked off!! I just took their clipboard and weigh sheet to the front and left. Took my load somewhere else and somehow I weighed two hundred more pounds hmmm?

Great place to do business with. The office workers are always friendly. The yard workers are very helpful! A huge shout out to Jay, we are kind of newbies at the recycling thing. He made us feel like we wasn't just a bother, he showed us where to go and even helped us unload!

Very friendly employees, the office was clean and the front desk lady was very helpful

Aluminum cans are bringing $60 cents lb in Springfield MO. Why so much different in Northern Arkansas an Southern Missouri were you only get 35 cents to 45 cents a big difference

Excellent loader. Friendly folks. Easy in and out. The only bad thing was the dang railroad racks.
WATCH OUT FOR THE TRACKS!!!
ROUGH.
You've been warned.Oct 07, 2020 -
Watch for their lunch hour so you don’t have to wait for them to return.
Get a feel for the place because it is confusing to know what to do.
The workers were great help.
Be watchful and careful.
Support this review to boost approbation. Thank you.Dec 23, 2018 -
I was turned down as a customer as I didn't come in a car or bicycle (I own a car but decided to walk). This policy is extremely unjust as someone's mode of transportation should NOT be a requirement to be a productive member of society. Its extremely disheartening to see such elitism, I would not recommend CMC Recycling to anyone until walk-ins are accepted. :/

We scrap our junk hvac units but try to wait until the prices are right to haul off any components. We had a large load of fan motors and they literally changed the price while we were there and then tried to give my employees less than what the new price was. My employees had the since to load our scrap back up, we will not be back.

I am a Springfield resident and made my first trip to CMC to take aluminum cans. Above and beyond friendly, helpful and professional service from the attendant managing the small scale to the personnel that manage the office. Why would you go anywhere else.

Confusing set up. Have to weigh multiple times. Poor instructions for new comers. Do not go here unless you have small items. Less than 100 lbs can use small scale. I will not waste my time coming here again

Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. One could always wish to be paid more but, unless you scrap everday it is hard to determine what you will make. The workers seemed fair, they seperated my metals to give me the most for my load. The office ladies were extremely kind, similar businesses are not like that.

I visit CMC on a weekly basis, and usually have no complaints.
I do find it completely ridiculous that they close The entire place three times a day for breaks. Seems like you could do a little bit of scheduling and stay open all day like a normal company would do ..Jul 12, 2016 -
First time visitor and I will never return. Their scales work well. My Cast Iron stove (fireplace) weighed 580 Ibs, but they labeled it as shredder tin which it's not, and would not make it right. I would have gladly taken it back home with me ( I could have sold it for hundreds of dollars on Craigslist) if I would have known how little I was taking home but the way they work you don't know what they pay till the very end. They had it destroyed and piled before I got my $17.40. The people were nice, it's a shame there are companies like this that take advantage of people. I highly recommend not to use this company. I wish I had my stove back. Lesson learned.

The good thing about this place is that they make it easy to bring whatever and get the right price for it whether you have a truck load or a bucket full. The bad thing is that their computers reboot several times over the course of the day slowing down their intake and they aren't open but half a day on Saturday so their last hour makes for a really long wait. (Update) Since this post I haven't had to wait on their computer system at all so I believe they must have got it all fixed up? Right on CMC, you rock.
