Not advised going there because they have a new worker and they will cuss you out for no reason call you everything in the book and threatened to whoop you just because I had to do their job
Easy drop off. I only had cans this time, both tin and aluminum. They helped unload, which was cool. Easy outside window for cashing out your receipt as well.
NEVER GO HERE FOR SCRAP! We NEEDED THE MONEY and went with 300lbs of metal today and got $30. In Illinois, we get $1/lb. So we got THIRTY DOLLARS instead of $300… we will be driving 2hrs to Carbondale IL from now on. Such a freaking rip off. And of course they can’t give you the option to get it all back because they crane it up in the pile as soon as it leaves your vehicle.
If I could give a zero star I would. These people would not know customer service if it slap them in the face and they deserve a slap in the face, my opinion. I saw a couple of gentlemen who were out of gas and trying to get money for scrap. They made them push the vehicle across the scale. No offers to help anybody. They pretty much laughed at them and I watched those poor men sit there in a heat advisory with nowhere for over an hour in their yard. No one would help these gentlemen at all. The staff here is lacking customer service in all aspects. I understand that this is a man's junkyard or whatever but there should be some kind of civility as well. Update: They even screwed these gentlemen on their price. The scale goes by 20 lb increments. It was settled on 4900 but when the man moved around in his truck, it would go between 4900 and 4920. So even if it weighed 4901 they are not going to pay you for those 19 lb. They jipped them on 20 lbs. This place has one one goal in mind. That is two screw as many people out of their metals as possible. It's saddens me to know that there are people like this in the world. This, the reason why the world is all about $$$$. The Walker bunch are just like them. I recommend Germans in Poplar Bluff Missouri. Hwy 142 across from Briggs and Stratton.
The website, Google, and your sign says open Monday through Thursday 8 AM to 3 PM Not one car here. Not 1 person here. It is Monday July 1st. How do you run a business when you say you're open when you're not. And there's no answering machine on the phone, so how do you leave a message?
If you have a very, very good plausible reason as to why you are not open today. At this time, I will change my review, but all 3 places should Not say You are open when you are not!
Person in the office is an a**hole and is very rude and sometimes the wait time is sometimes long due to the employees moving the equipment out in the road in front of you and it's not really worth going there anymore
My husband Craig Berry goes there Alot they are always really good too him and they was All really kind too me and our grandkids when we went with him! They're good ppl trying to make a living as well.
A few years ago, the owner, or owners son, mistook me for someone he had loaned money to. At first I thought he was joking, but no. There was a confrontation, he threatened me, and I've never been back.
I do not recommend.
Weighed my cast iron before and steel before going in, they didn't weigh the same they pushed us through like cattle, would not allow us to separate our metal, I wouldn't suggest anyone going to this scrap yard, come on peeps these peaple need turned in for stealing money from inacent peaple, I put a call into better business barrow they need shut down. Some of us have everyday struggles, households to take care of, and this place steals our money.
This is the better place in the area, yes they have made some mistakes in the past on my non-ferrous metal sales but have ALWAYS made it right, unlike other places.... Not a problem with them and i will return.

Would be nice to know they were closed on their website. Then being rudely accosted while we were in the parking lot attempting to find another place to get unloaded.
They are super fast and extremely friendly. They are also, undoubtably, the cleanest scrapyard/recycling place I have ever been to. It makes sense because every time we see there, you can see how everybody is doing their part. There's definitely some great leadership and teamwork going on here.
guys working the non ferrous metal area know their stuff, they got my metals identified properly, got the weight correct and didn't make a mistake on my ticket.
