Great service - had a car issue unexpectedly and this was the closest place I could get to. They got me in with no wait, listened to my problem, checked everything out and got me on my way so quick I couldn’t believe it.
Great Shop. I'm sure they aren't the cheapest shop, but almost always in and out same day (compared to almost anyone else they are more than fair on their pricing). They kept my Honda running to 300k miles and offer free courtesy rides to pick up and drop off. They also stick to their estimates, sometimes the bill is less. I have never had them quote the proposed bill, and then the end bill is higher. They confirm cost amd work before commencing so I have never had a surprise "we already did the work". When it has been their error, they have been good at correcting with no cost.
The guys that work here are very honest and trustworthy. Even though we had bad luck with my mom's vehicle after spending $1,800 on it. They found out a few months later that her back shocks we're about to go through the frame they were honest about it and told us that we shouldn't put no money into it. They were very upset at the fact that they didn't do a overall inspection the first time before we spent the 1800.00. even though my mom was out money she appreciates them for being honest with us and you will always have us as loyal customers. They didn't charge us for the inspection which was delightful. Justin and John and I believe the other guy's name is Jake you guys are awesome
On our first day of vacation, we got a flat tire on the drive to our destination. Fortunately, we were near The Garage and they were able to order and pick up our tires, install them, and have us back on the road in a couple of hours. Great service. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing car service.
On Wednesday morning before work I realized I had a flat tire. I called The Garage of New Brighton for help. The person in charge encouraged me to bring the car in so they could take a look and potentially repair it. To my surprise, they were able to repair the tire on the spot and I got to work on time. This is one of many examples in which the team members at The Garage have been professional, transparent, and really helpful. I highly recommend this place!

Coasted into the parking lot with a bad alternator, immediately the owner of the shop went out of his way to help me with the issue. I decided to take the alternator off myself in the parking lot since I had a trailer hooked up. The owner was extremely kind to let me use his tools and once the alternator was off, I began to walk to the parts store on foot. The owner stopped me and told me he was not about to let me walk there in the frigid weather and gave me a ride to get the new alternator. I was honestly blown away by the kindness I was shown. If I could give these guys 10 stars, I would.
Snarkily told me my car was burning oil, and there was nothing they could do about it. They finished some other work which seemed overpriced.
Turbo Tim's took one look at my engine and said it's not burning oil, you have a minor leak in a gasket. That is causing the oil levels to deplete. They had videos to show the leak and everything.
I discovered this shop from the Nextdoor app whilst looking for a reliable mechanic in my area. All of the reviews were 100% actuate! This is the only shop I will ever call. I have an older Honda and was having some issues, I brought it in and they checked it over thoroughly at no cost. Finally because the issue was the starter, it went out and I had my car towed in. They spent time with me as I was considering a new ride with all my questions and concerns inclining reviews of the models I was considering.
End result my car has a new starter and a clean bill to keep driving which is a huge relief (who wants to used car shop in -11 temps).
I can't say enough positive things about this place!
They are honest, patient, affordable and reliable. On the trip back to the shop with one of the mechanics I had a wonderful discussion on career paths and cars as well so I know they also employ great people.
As a single woman without adequate space to do larger car repairs at home I've found my place.

Very courteous. I stopped in with my brake light on. I had checked the emergency brake (obviously not well enough). He popped the hood, evaluated the brake fluid, then fixed the emergency brake. No charge and I was on my way. Honest and helpful. I would recommend.
Terrible experience all around.
Came in for an oil change and 2 hours after getting my car back my check oil light comes on telling me to check my oil. I checked the dipstick and the oil was bone dry. I filled it back up and low and behold check oil light goes out, no leaking and everything was good to go.
Brought it back in to get a refund and was told the tech did a full oil change and I overfilled the oil.
No refund.
Don't let these guys steal your money.
A very nice experience here. As an older female, it is wonderful to not be taken advantage of or talked down to. The desk staff of The Garage were very efficient, honest and easy to talk to and ask questions of. I will continue to take my vehicle here for any work that needs to be done. Also, the prices were extremely reasonable compared to other places I have worked with.
Came in today because of a low pressure tire that came up randomly. They took my car right away with no appointment, they found a big staple that punctured the tire and patched it all within about 1.5 hours. Good pricing, great service, would recommend.
Battery replacement lacks foresight- 5 yrs ago had a Buick battery replaced.
1) Over Battery bar overtightened- Had to drill out one bolt. 3 hrs wasted
2) Had to remove fuse box to access 1). caused hardware loss
3) Negative terminal screw rusted. Visegrip removal worked luckily
4) positive terminal screw rusted.
5) battery hold down screw completely rusted. unable to remove.
6) Red plastic cover for positive side left disconnected. Risk of short circuit.
Be wary about using this facility when replacing batteries unless battery is easy to replace. 6 hrs of unnecessary labor due to prior shop negligence.
I have been going to this shop ever since I moved to Minnesota (4 years) and I won’t go to any other shop! Not only are these guys super friendly but they don’t make you feel stupid when you ask questions. They have done maintenance on all 3 of my cars and I love going here because I KNOW my vehicle will be in good hands and I won’t get ripped off. These guys know what they are doing and they run an amazing shop. I would give 10 stars if I could. Definitely THE BEST repair shop in Minnesota I think.
Was quoted triple the price across the street at New Brighton Ford for water pump replacement and a few other things for my ford fusion and 1 week of them keeping the car. The Garage was able to go above and beyond, they even offered me a coupon for the services and my car was ready within a day! I am so impressed, on top of everything they communicated with me throughout the whole process. THANK YOU!
I’ve been here twice, both times for tire leaks. The first time was told there was no issue and that they couldn’t do anything. Ok little strange since it was flat this morning but whatever. Took it to a shop down the road. Found a giant screw in my tire and plugged and was good to go.
Second time same thing, was told there wasn’t an issue and that there wasn’t Any air leaking from the tire after I had to fail on me on the highway. With a tire that deflated to the rim in 5 minutes, I’d assume they’d find the issue, but apparently not.
Now I haven’t actually had any work done here, but I feel like a place that can’t diagnose two very basic tire problems is a place to take caution with. I’ll give them two stars because the man at the desk was very quick and friendly, the accuracy just wasn’t there. I’d advise you to tread carefully with these guys and get a second opinion.
They were incredibly nice, filled my tires with air and it took about five minutes. Super friendly and they are also local heros! My parents live down the street and the neighbor's house caught on fire. The garage employees saved the two dogs inside. :) Definitely recommend!
Today was my first experience with The Garage of New Brighton. I will absolutely be coming back in the future. The staff was extremely friendly and polite and I felt very comfortable during my visit. They helped me find a time to get me in as soon as possible, and the service time itself was much quicker than what I'm used to as well. Waiting area is really comfy too, which is great because I usually always stay and wait whenever I get my oil changed. Excellent pricing as well. I would very much recommend coming here.
Super impressed! I was not expecting the service I received. They were really genuine, told me how much it would cost ($20 less than another shop in NB) and had me waiting for only 10 mins. I have to prove my car knowledge at other car shops for them to talk to me normally, or I go to the same guy I've been going to at the dealership. It so happened that guy wasn't there when I went, I felt like the price was too high for the service my car needed so I shopped around and I'm so glad I did! From the get-go, they spoke to me normally, were super casual about the price, time and labor and made it very easy for me to choose them.
I highly recommend them to anyone shopping around for any work on their car, get ready to save your hard-earned 💰💰 💰and not get taken advantage of!
So I went here because I read a great review about a woman who wasn't charged for a sound when nothing turned up wrong when they could have easily sold her in things. So I brought my just bought 2000 f150 for an oil change and asked to take a look at my loud exhaust leak. They came back and said it's prob just a missing bolt and would take care of it and was only charged 10 dollars it was great then then said I need to show u something and brought me under the luft and showed me my frame is almost completely rusted through. It sickened me I just paid 2000$ that I spent all winter breaking my back doing snow removal in my neighborhood to make that, it was every penny I made so now I'm a single father with no vehicle and spent every penny i had and now also I had all sorts of work lined up for the spring. Now I have nothing. No way to work no way to get anywhere and no way to make money but I would def suggest these honest guys mechanic shop
They have always done a great job, not pushing unnecessary repairs, and only recommending work that makes sense for my high mileage vehicle. Nice people that are always flexible when I constantly reschedule my oil change.
They've secured my business for a lifetime. They're honest, trustworthy, and more than fair. We've taken two of our vehicles to them over the past five years now and they've always done right by us — sometimes even given us the benefit of the doubt when an issue was tough for them to troubleshoot and insisted on us taking the car home to drive for a few days to see if the problem persisted before settling up on the payment we owed them.
They continue to surprise us with how quick and efficient they are, and often times come far under price what you might pay elsewhere, too. I'd highly recommend giving The Garage of New Brighton a shot.
I live in the neighborhood and have used this shop in the past and the service was good and fair. This time, I stop by to get my heater fixed because it stopped working. I was told that the the car will need a new heater blower motor and it will cost me little over $400 to get it fixed. I got couple estimates from other repair shops and they were $100 less, so I went back the 2nd day and asked why their estimate was higher than everyone else and Paul didn't provide a convincing answer. He also charged me $62.00 for checking the car because I decided to take it to another mechanic shop. I am very disappointed at the service and expected to get a fair estimate especially that I live in the neighborhood. Also checking the car didn't take more than 15 minutes and he charged me $62 for that which comes to an average of $248 labor fee per hour. Not very happy and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone or go back.
They have great customer service and always make sure to fix your vehicle the right way for a fair price. One shop estimated fixing only the tie rod ends on my car to be $500. The Garage did that plus two new tires, rotars and new wiring for a headlight for $630. I highly recommend them.
Been using them for a number of years now. They have always been upfront and honest about things. My 10+ year old truck had the transmission on it go out on it and it needed a full replacement. the repairwork and parts cost more then the truck was worth... They helped me find a buyer for it for a fair price and was able to get at least some money out of the deal.

My parents paid for car repairs as a Christmas present in 2013. The care was a 1995 Mazda protege. The body of the care was not in very good condition, and it was developing some problems, but I couldn't afford to get it fixed my self. The blue book value for that model in the condition it was in is around $800 (I'm being generous).
When they called my Mom to confirm that she wanted the repairs they suggested they told her that the cost of the repair to fix just some of the things that were wrong was going to be $2500. They actually wanted her to spend more than that to fix all the problems they said that the car had. When she asked if it was really worth it to fix the car, or should she just get a different used car they told her that it's a good model and they think that she should get it fixed. The car fell apart 6 months after the repairs.
These people are crooks, don't go there
