Our old SUV lost its transmission. We crawled it over to John's. They were very patient.

So grateful for the excellent service and quality work from the guys at John’s Auto Shop. Leaving our hotel by the mall for our return trip home and our power steering pump fails, fortunately the shop was right down the road and I was able to limp the car there. Tom at the front desk gave us a loaner van so we could get a hotel as it was in the afternoon and he wasn’t sure if they could get it done so late in the day. Well the guys stayed late and were able to have it ready for us first thing in the morning allowing us to get back in the road as soon as possible. Absolutely fair pricing for the work and we are incredibly grateful for them going above and beyond to get the work done. Thank you to the entire team at John’s Auto Shop! Great communication, fair pricing and excellent work.

10/10 I ran over something on the highway, causing my undercarriage to drag on the ground. I drove to the nearest auto shop and it happened to be John’s! They helped me out right away taking off the dragging piece so I could make it home. They were an absolute life saver! I get overwhelmed dealing with car issues, but they were so friendly and honest. Would highly recommend!!

John’s Auto is unbelievable. My sister uses them for all her car repairs. I’ve been in the car business for 39 years and then retired. I no longer have access to a repair shop that does charge exorbitant prices and doesn’t try to rip you off. Then I was introduced to John’s auto. They are trustworthy and affordable. My son’s car is a beater, but we need it so he has transit work. I was facing a $1000.00 bill for a bad brake hose . John gave me a huge break because I was going to have to junk the car if I could not afford the repair. John’s did it for half the cost and did it in a day . I’ll no longer use the rip off chains like Firestone and Car-x. They could care less about loyalty and honesty. John’s exemplifies great honest service at an affordable price. Hats off to you guys. What a great place! We experienced a blown tire on our way through Minneapolis with our RV. We took the first turn we could to get off the highway. We came upon John’s auto shop. These guys were awesome, they helped get our spare on safely, kept us calm, and sent us on our way to pay it forward! Can’t thank them enough! Super friendly place!

I moved to Richfield because the rent was cheaper than in Bloomington. I wanted to look around my new neighborhood so I got out my bike but I had a flat tire so I walked the 2 blocks to John's auto and I found an old man outside and he took my bike and filled my tire for me! It was the original John from John's auto. So when I came to get my car's oil changed it was not a surprise to me that it had changed hands but it was a happy one that the new owner was John but he was a young man. I have had the best service from this company that I could ever have asked for. I used to drive my car down and they would do my oil change and I would be able to get to work on time. I moved from the area over a year ago but before I did I got my oil changed one more time. I was on my 2nd vehicle and they didn't even blink. I told them I was moving to Edina and I came back to them 3 weeks ago for another oil change and this time there were some issues. I'm a poor kid with a very good job but John didn't let that bother him, I have had a serious brain cancer that I should not have survived 20 years ago and he is going through something similar. He said to me we are in a similar group so we need to stick together. He is covering the whole cost of the parts and labor and I will get a loaner car for the duration. It was a sizeable sum and if he hadn't done this I think he knew it wouldn't have gotten done. I did ask him, what should I do just get another car? He said he would help me out and HE DID! GREATEST MAN ? I WONT TAKE MY CAR TO ANYWHERE ELSE The whole auto shop is full of caring individuals that truly show they care personally about their clients. GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO PROVE IT TO YOU AND TELL THEM THAT SHAWN SENT YOU! Amazing ?

I've been going here for years. Honest staff. They do good work and have a fast turnaround. They can also provide loaner cars which can be a time saver!

I can't say enough good things about John and John's Auto Shop! John is a stand-up, genuine, compassionate man. I had just arrived back to MSP after leaving my vehicle in the parking ramp for a few days. Upon starting it, I knew it wasn't going to make it the two and a half hour drive home. I called a few auto shops and kept hitting dead ends, until I talked to John. He told me they would drop everything and take a look at my vehicle. The customer service was top-notch from start to finish. John and the rest of the staff was not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to walk me through the repair my vehicle needed. In addition to the fantastic service, what truly sets them apart is their commitment to quality and standing behind their work. John even called me later that evening to be sure I made it home. I highly recommend John's Auto Shop if you want dependable service, peace of mind, and truly one of the best guys in the business!

Very satisfied with the work they've done on my vehicles. The staff are friendly and clearly explain their recommendations. They have very good communication including showing photos of what needs to be done and the completed work. Convenient location and hours.

Fantastic place. Traveling through with some transmission issues and called told us stop on down get us in right. The guys up front were awesome and straight forward. Troy the mechanic was a nice guy and knew what he was talking about.

These guys are great. Curt in the office is the best and Felipe who worked on the car did and does the best work. We will be bringing our cars here from now on.

Pull up at John Auto around 3pm on a Friday. Just moved here as a business owner I thought I’d support local. Walked in with pocket full of cash as I needed things done and I was ready to pay for service in advance. But All workers standing around- which I’m glad they could talk to me about my brakes and exhaust but ummmmm… lots of cars were surely needing attention. Ok none of my business. I Asked to get an estimate. The older gentleman in the front sitting at the desk said”well it depends… could be flex pipe could be exhaust pipe, could be… etc!” Literally left me so astonished that this guy provided me an “estimate “ based on his words while not even looking at the car. Clearly this guy had enough customers that he didn’t want my business. I’ve never received an estimate like this before as I was so confused. Then jumped to the brakes saying “if it’s back it runs 700.00 if front n back 1000-1400 depending on if rotors are needed!” Literally thought to myself…right, that’s why I’m here! I don’t know what I need!!! However, this guy doesn’t want to even look at the car, or set appointment up for an estimate, or provide estimates on the spot or say anything to me that would be helpful! I’m in awe! I wanted to tell the guy I’m going elsewhere… but, I calmly walked out thinking ppl complain about kids in the workforce nowadays yet this guy really thought he was helping me! lol what a joke!! so I went and got my clamp tightened in my exhaust and brakes pads n rotors changed for under $400 bucks!!! Somewhere else!! Again I was confused to gain this type of experience at this shop! Too bad! I would hv paid you guys at John’s Auto Shop the verbal estimate of 1400.00 that day for any help or even a darn appointment- but your Customer Service is terrible, the brush off was unwarranted and very unprofessional as well as your prognosis evidently was wrong! Smh Were you the owner? Guy at the desk with white hair, Hmmmm? If not, dear owner, this guy just made you miss money!!!! Too bad!

John and Kyle were very helpful and honest with what needed to be fixed. They were diligent on getting my Jeep fixed in a timely manner. I will definitely be brining my future repairs to them and their mechanics.

John's Auto Shop is an Excellent service department that performs Superior mechanical work on cars. Very nice and professional customer service and trust them with my vehicle. Loaner cars are provided while your car is in the shop for convenience. Come see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

A few months back, I brought my truck in to John's Auto Shop for work that several other shops had actually refused to do. That's the first reason I'm grateful. On top of that, they identified several long term issues that my normal shop had never found or told me about. The main guy I spoke with, John, was very communicative. The work lasted a couple weeks, and I got regular updates from him on what they'd found, what they had done, and what my options were. And speaking of options, the total work needed exceeded my budget, so John was amazing working with me to lay out a priority of work, figuring out which things were the most important, which could wait, and setting it up so we got as much critical work done as possible while staying under my budget. I am extremely pleased after working with these guys. They give very good customer service, they are competent, friendly and caring. I think they provided great service for the money, so I appreciated the value of their work immensely. I would very much look forward to working with John's Auto Shop again. (Also posting on Yelp)

Needed a brake line replaced, very poor job looking at vehicle, its a older truck no rust on truck light rust on brake parts quoted me 4900.00 and told me it needed everything replaced, the truck has 51,000 miles and only needed a brake line. Sad thing is they did all the brake lines on a rusted out gmc denali of mine and charged me 1400.00 and that was a bargain. So they lost my business and I've sent couple dozen people over that way.. oh I left a great review last time.i was an auto service manager for almost 20 years.

John's got my G6 in last minute to fix an exhaust pipe that had detached and was dragging on the road. I don't live in the area and needed a quick fix just to get home after a 5 day vacation! They had me in and out in their last hour of the day! Truly appreciate it, fellas! Thank you so much!

The staff are always friendly, trustworthy, and reliable. Their prices are fair and I never feel like they're trying to push a sale. I always feel good about taking my vehicle to John's!

Brought in my car because I have been having battery/electrical issues. I work two jobs and I am a full time student and car problems is the last thing I needed. They took my car and worked on it a day earlier than they promised to see it. After finding nothing wrong they sent me home with my car without overselling me anything or making up any problems. After about a week, my car is still completely normal and acting fine. John's Auto in Richfield will be my first go-to from now and my recommended choice for how trustworthy, quick and kind all the staff has been.

Kyle was the nicest guy! He was so helpful and very accommodating in helping me by fixing an air filter mod that had worked loose and caused the vehicle to die. Because of his help, we were able to drive back to northern MN without issues or worries. Highly recommend!!!

Browsing through the reviews, I see a pattern! This place went above and beyond helping me today with vehicle issues. I live 2.5 hours away and was trying to get home after flying in from vacation. Jon investigated the issue and after working on it, he sent us home safely. He could have easily taken advantage of me and instead he was genuine and generous. Thank you! I highly recommend this shop. I am extremely picky about where I bring my vehicles and who works on them. I was referred to this shop by a friend and I am glad I went. I brought 2 of my 3 vehicles to them for work and they did a fantastic job. I cant say enough good things about this shop - all the people I worked with were extremely friendly, they got every extremely unique job done as requested, they even gave me a loaner vehicle each time I was there and for the exact amount of time they had each vehicle, and they were even super flexible about other things that I dont want to mention here out of respect for their business, but seriously, I HIGHLY recommend these guys!! Nice work John's Auto Shop team and thank you so much for all your help and kindness.

Jon was such a blessing. I was leaving Minnesota to go back to Illinois but my car started to have a major problem with the oil and I really did not want to drive it back home. I was scared and I had my family with me. Jon was literally about to close but he was such a blessing and still took my car in. Thank you so much Jon! Great mechanic! Amazing service and such a great man!

Excellent staff. Professional over the phone and in person. Pleasurable to talk to. They were straight forward with me about my repairs, what they recommended and the cost of each. They went over and above to communicate with me about the status of my vehicle, and were patient with me in my decision process about different repairs. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking to have quality work done to their vehicle.

Great service, educated employees AND very reasonable pricing. I have used John's Auto for a number of years and I have never been disappointed! I needed my differential replaced and I checked out 3 other places to check pricing. I ended up going back to John's because their price was lower then the 3 others. After it was all said and done I ended up paying almost $60 less then what they quoted me! Again, great people and excellent service.
