Got my car towed by T&T Overall they did their job towing from point A to point B However - the young tow truck driver did not seem like he was in a good mood. I requested for a tow and he went to a different side of the parking lot and blamed it on me saying that I did not provide enough details. I was nice and polite during the complete interaction but he seemed agitated for some reason. I was uncomfortable to the point I was close to asking him to not tow my car and I’ll pay him for showing up and call another towing company. Please treat your customers with dignity and respect.

Jordan screwed me on a horn install. I asked him up front to let me know if it was gonna be a quality, louder horn - to test it first, and let me know. He just installed it and surprised me WITH A $600 BILL. To make matters worse - the horn doesn't even work half the time and when it does, it is weak/no louder than my stock horn. I brought it to his attention and he tried billing me again to remove it, while telling me "yeah, those after-market horns are notoriously unreliable." WHAT A DISSERVICE & he showed his true character: ignore customers' requests; do the wrong thing; and make money off them at all costs! UN-BELIEVE-ABLE!!!

So they quoted me the exact same rate as the dealer (I checked both), but due to a friend's recommendation I went with them. The work he did turned out to be a quite a bit more than the dealership would've charged me, and I circled back with them and they laughed and said they wouldn't have charged me extra for the same stuff that he did. Lesson learned.

Recently took our van to T&T for a tire issue on the morning it was discovered for an older model minivan. We knew the tires were in need of replacement, but had been dragging our feet since they weren't readily available in retail spots. They were able to get the tires in that day and we got our car back that afternoon. Jordan is always very helpful and not pushy/sales-y.

I got a tow from Mark this morning. I’m not used to good service from a tow truck so we he pulled up to not only tow my car away but he also looked it over and accessed what was wrong for me. No mark didn’t fix it on the spot but he did help me more than most tow drivers would. Good work Mark, it’s appreciated. Once to the tow shop I noticed mark helping some mechanics opening a car that was locked shut. The man steps up when needed.

Jordan, Mike, and the rest of their team are the best! Super honest car repair without all of the up-charge tactics that you see at chain stores. I'm a loyal fan and will bring all my cars here for service!

During the pandemic, I had a very memorable AAA tow truck driver (the owner, or someone in the owner’s family?). It was late at night, he was very kind, and it was very admirable that he was working through the night to keep the business alive during a difficult time. Since that night, I made it a point to go to T & T for gas instead of big chains to at least try to contribute to a small business. Last week when I discovered a nail in my tire and a lot of air leaking out, I knew exactly where I wanted to go! I called Monday morning to ask if it was something they could help with, the older gentleman on the phone asked if I’d be willing to leave the car with them for the day. No problem, so I asked if I needed an appointment and he said no. Unfortunately, it was raining and I wasn’t keen on walking home in the rain after dropping it off. My other ride became available after lunch. Since I wasn’t told to make an appointment, I figured it wouldn’t be a big deal. When I arrived at 1:30 I told the older gentleman the issue with my tire again and that I had heard I could drop it off and they’d be able to take a look. I was received with a long stare and, “Oh you heard that, did you? Well I don’t know if we can help you”. That threw me a bit and I wasn’t sure what to say. I thought he was joking so I said, “Ever? Like, you won’t be able to help me at all?” The elderly man began to respond, “Did I say that? Did I say we couldn’t fix it?” The whole interaction became tense and weird. He was really adamant on telling me he couldn’t guarantee it getting done today, which I never assumed, expected, or asked for. I tried to make that clear by saying I would just be happy if they could take a look eventually at some point when they had the time. The man said, “Well we don’t just keep cars here for weeks at a time” and that he had expected me right after we spoke in the morning, that they were waiting for me, and that I should have called to let them know I wasn’t coming in. This confused me quite a bit since he had told me earlier that I didn’t need to make an appointment. I’ve never been asked to cancel for an inquiry. It was clear at that point anything I said was going to upset the older gentleman. It got to the point where I asked him if there was something wrong. He told me I came in with a “snotty attitude,” he didn’t like the way I told him to look at my car, and that if I was worried I should probably just put air in the tire. Towards the end of the interaction he asked me what I was “crying about.” I usually don’t let people get to me. I even feel silly writing a review on this and I don’t have any intention on smearing your business. But it was such a strange and extremely rude encounter. That man came out the gate hot, and I didn’t deserve it. I really wanted to give you my business. I don’t doubt the work you do at T&T is great. But I wouldn’t know.

Six months ago I took my daughter’s 2017 Nissan in to get the check engine light diagnosed. I was told it was a bad fan that was putting out too much voltage and that they could replace it for me. I asked if I could get the fan and have them use it and I was told that it was a “special” type for her vehicle and he had already checked eBay and everything and there wasn’t one available so he had to get it from the dealer. They charged me over $500 just for the fan which I came to find out later that day was available at every parts store in town PLUS eBay (eBay wanted $35-$80 for the part) the parts stores wanted $130-$180 for the part brand new. I also got charged over $400 for labor. Then I get a phone call (before I found out about the price of the fans around town yet) that said it turns out that the voltage the fan was throwing out blew something in the control module which cost me another $900 and which he had to program and unless I could bring him the extra key before he was done programming it I would have to pay another $300 to program the second key. My daughter was in school so I had no way to find out where the extra key was so he had to go ahead and finish programming it. (Somehow the second key magically worked with the module he says he reprogrammed which as far as I know would be impossible if it was actually replaced. Be that as it may, three weeks later the engine light comes back on and it’s throwing the exact same code it was before it was “fixed”. I couldn’t get the vehicle back in right away because my daughter was using it for her finals at the u of m and the first time I took it in it wound up having the keys accidentally misplaced by a mechanic who went on vacation amongst other things. Anyway, I get it back in for them to look at and he says it’s a bad MAF sensor (which I JUST replaced a month earlier and it didn’t change anything) so he tells me I must’ve bought a brand new sensor that was bad. I know it happens occasionally but the odds in this case are astronomical. They say they will replace the MAF sensor for me for over $500 (it’s a $100 part and literally is right on top and takes even an inexperienced person ten minutes to change), so I tell him I’ll have to talk to my daughter but we’ll just pick the car up later. Then he tells me that it’s gonna be $150 for them looking at it WHEN HE EVEN ADMITTED IT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN THE MODULE THEY FIXED IN THE FIRST PLACE! So I’m just supposed to keep overpaying for things to be replaced when they don’t even figure out what it is? On the $150 bill there was a charge for “disposal of hazardous materials” which is supposed to be for tire or oil disposal, etc. So when my daughter sees it she goes back in and asks what that charge is for and the old man there says for disposal of oil and my daughter tells him she didn’t have her oil changed so the old man looks at the bill and says “well, that’s just what happens when you bring your car in to be fixed”. So to sum it up, I have no doubt that they do some people right. Its kinda like a lawyer, they’re only as good as the case they have. In other words, if there’s room for them to soak you THEY WILL DO IT WITHOUT HESITATION AND NOT EVEN OFFER ANY APOLOGY NOR EXPLANATION! This is your fair warning. If it’s a simple straightforward repair they’ll probably still way overcharge you for parts and labor but most people really have no idea how motors work or how shops operate and as long as they have friendly service they’ll pay for whatever and call it good service. I’ve been to several shops around the Minneapolis area with several different vehicles and this is the only place I can honestly say just totally soaked my daughter and I by totally misleading us and being dishonest intentionally.

I called , a few minutes later I stopped by to confirm an appointment with mechanic, we had previously had spoken on the phone , I was to have my truck towed by the end of the month, and when I went in to confirm, the person at front desk/cashier was extremely rude and turned me away. I do not recommend. Next day I took my truck to another mechanic in St Paul, the only problem it had was a couple of bad wires, problem was fixed in less than 30min and it started right up.. do not recommend this place, rude

Tire repair Didn’t do what I asked The tire was driven with low pressure and I told them that I asked them to remove tire and make sure it was ok They put an exterior plug in and said that didn’t have time to take tire off. They could have told me that when I dropped tire off I will never use them again A shop with a attitude They say I have the wrong place and I never used them I have credit card charges and phone records showing they were the shop I used. The front guy has a attitude issue and they never did what I asked them to do. It was their shop. They can contact me if they need proof.

I've had three great experiences at T&T and will certainly go back. I would say the most recent repair required some creative work, and they got it done in minimal time. Excellent people. Excellent shop.

Jordan is respectful and fair and will give advise before wasting time and money on senseless repairs. I've used him for work since 2007 and he has always offered good options. Estimates/quotes are free. His rates are set from a service guide but if it goes over the estimated time, he has gone beyond the time without padding his bill. He even apologized when a previous mechanic had glued in a plastic part and he had to cause some minor cosmetic damage to assemble everything correctly. When my engine needed to be replaced, he recommended I just sell the car for parts and replace the whole thing as the repair was more expensive than the value of the car. He is always willing to tell you what he would do if he had the situation you are in.

I took our '07 Ford to T & T Automotive for an emergency tire repair after it was punctured by an errant screw on the road. Jordan was extremely helpful and friendly in explaining my options and got me up and going again in record time on a Monday morning! We've been going back to the dealership for service for years, but it's nice to know there's a shop closeby with friendly & knowledgeable professionals.

Went to this place a few times, first couple of times were fine, got tires done for what seemed to be a fair price. Last time I went in, and it will be THE LAST TIME, all I needed was my passenger side mirror replaced. Jordan Was going to charge me $90 for mirror, $200 for labor because he had to get into the door panel. I agreed, he said it would be done in 1-2 days. I called 3 days later as I received no update, said he ordered the wrong mirror and couldn’t get a call back from junk yards with the correct one. I immediately checked Amazon, there was my mirror for $50. I called back, told him this and got my car. I replaced the side mirror myself in less than 10 minutes, watched a YouTube video, just popped off a panel, undid 3 screws, put the new mirror on, then put the screws and popped the panel back on. Done. He was going to charge me double what my mirror actually costs and didn’t even think to order parts from Amazon, no follow up, and going to charge me $200 for 10 minutes of work. Very disappointed at the dishonesty, lack of ingenuity, and unprofessionalism. Thought this was going to be my go to auto shop, turns out they just care about upcharging. Find a better, more fair auto shop that cares about its customers.

My car completely quit on me after work as I was merging onto the highway. Does it get more inconvenient than that on a Monday during rush hour?! T&T sent a tow as soon as they could despite it being shop closing time. They called me the following morning with a diagnostic and started repairs that day. I was able to get my car back the next day by my lunch break. I really wanted to avoid putting any more repairs into my old car, especially an alternator and the labor it entailed due to the inconvenient placement in my old ford taurus, but I felt completely supportive of giving T&T my business. Everyone was friendly, professional, and just seemed genuine. I was given options and advice along the way to make the choices that suited my needs. I will definitely be using them in the future for maintenance and repairs.

T & T Auto, where have you been all my car's life?! It turns out you have been right in my back yard this whole time! I only wish I would have found you years ago. I have a 2003 Hyundai Elantra. Several months ago I was told by the dealership that serviced my car that I had an oil leak and needed to replace my engine with a new ($8000) or used ($6000) engine. Since the Blue book on my car is only like $1500 I said no to that. They said to check my oil every other fill. I started doing that. Over the course of several months I only added 2 1/2 quarts of oil. Well, I should have noticed that the accumulation under my car indicated more than a small oil leak. It turned out that the extra liquid was due to a leak in the radiator as I found out a few weeks ago when my car overheated while I was on the freeway and smoke started pouring out of my engine. It shut off at the top of the exit ramp. My sister brought some coolant and I was able to get it home (about a mile-and-a-half). I figured that was it for my Elantra and I said my sad "thank you for your service" goodbyes.Out of curiosity I called my dealership to see what a new radiator would cost. They quoted me close to $800. I didn't think it would be worth putting $800 into it if overheating had affected the rest of the motor. I started using my Mom's car while trying to decide what to do. I drove by T&T's on 66th and Portland and thought, "Maybe I should call them?" I ended up bringing my car in and speaking with Mike. He told me I had dodged a bullet and that no other damage had been done to my car as a result of overheating. What a relief! Mike put in a new radiator and it only cost me $310! As opposed to the almost $800 that the dealership wanted. Mike also brought up the issue of my oil leak. He said he didn't agree with the dealership that I needed a new engine. He said in his view the leak was in one of two places. He could clean the engine and determine where the leak was. If it was in the easier place it would be about $210; if it was in the harder to get at place it would be about $900. That $900 would include changing the timing belt, which most likely needed to be done based on the mileage on my car (170K). I am so completely impressed. They put in my radiator that same day and told me to let them know if I wanted them to work on the oil leak. Meanwhile, the battery in my Mom's car died. They replaced that the next day. It was as if I was their only customer! Mike is very good at thoroughly explaining what the issues and the options are. Oh, and get this. The car dealership had said that my Mom's tie rods were loose. Mike said that he would look at them and if they were just a little bit loose I could let that go for now. But if they were very loose he could replace them. Well, it turned out that they weren't loose at all. Now, obviously, even a "slightly dishonest" car dealership would have replaced the tie rods and taken my money. Not T & T! They have proven themselves and gained a customer for life! I have already told two friends about them and will continue spreading the word! An honest car repair shop does exist! And it's right here in Richfield! T & T Automotive!

I had called 8 other places sadly before T&T. All of the other sites did not want to do the job and tried to charge me an arm and a leg for it! T&T showed up within 10 minutes of my call and was very professional! My driver was amazing and super friendly and was the best experience I have ever had! If I need a tow, I'm definitely calling these guys!

These guys are awesome! Have worked on several of my vehicles over the years. Great service and always find the root cause of an issue quickly and affordably. Also, very honest and open about the work they do. Even make referrals when they don't think they are the right shop to do certain kinds of work.

Went in 5pm yesterday asking about a tow and service for my vehicle. I stressed it was in a lot and it had to be towed. He told me he could not tow until late at night and AAA gives them enough business. He told me to go to Bobby and Steve’s or Chief. I reiterated that I wanted it serviced at this shop. He shrugged his shoulders and looked at me like I was not wanted at this shop and my business did not matter. I cannot believe he did not care about my business. I was stressed and needed my car moved and he didn’t even show empathy and tell me if I could get it there they would love to service it. Just “call Bobby and Steve’s or Chief” I am loyal to local shops and this was an awful experience and I will never be back. I would not employ morons that do not care about building your business. Now my car is at Bobby and Steve’s at the request of your employee.

I can't praise Jordan, owner of T & T Automotive highly enough. He's the most honest, reliable, mechanic I've ever known. As an example -- I brought my car to the dealer because of a Factory Recall. I specifically told the service dept. I was there only for the Recall, I didn't want anything else checked or done. I was ignored, and a "safety check" was made, at which time I was told the transmission fluid was very dirty and should be replaced. A few months after, I had an air bag Factory Recall so I had to go back to the dealer. Again, a "safety check" was supposedly done, and nothing was mentioned about transmission fluid in spite of the fact I had done nothing about it after the first Recall appointment. This week I went to Jordan to have the oil changed and all the fluids checked. He did his usual exceptional job, checked everything and assured me everything was fine and there's nothing wrong with the transmission fluid. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. Jordan, you're the best!!!! Bonnie Erickson

T&T staff was extremely helpful. We were selling our old car to my younger brother and wanted to have the car checked out for safety, etc. I asked T&T to rotate the tires and give it a once-over, fully expecting to pay extra for the service. They gave it a thorough inspection, road-tested it, evaluated the condition, everything. In the end they only charged me a small amount for the tire rotation. Staff was very accommodating and helpful - definitely will be returning for all my mechanical needs in the future.

I can't express how much of a great experience I had with T&T Automotive!! My driver, Tony, was quick to: respond via phone, arrive, and hook my vehicle up to the tow truck. Also, he was really nice and courteous. I needed a tow on Saturday night (12/21/2013); four days from Christmas. The following Monday (12/23/2013) I received a call from Jordan, the (manager?/owner?), who said they were going to waive the remainder of my bill, and only accept the $30 I paid in cash up front. Jordan explained that Tony requested to help me out if there was a way; since I expressed that money was kind of tight at the time. There has never been a tow company, or driver, that has done that for me. If you need a tow in the Minneapolis area; call these guys. They're quick to respond, efficient, courteous, experienced, and the staff is excellent.

If you want honest, dependable work done at a fair price...THIS the place. I've been going there since 1984. I took my cars to Jordan's dad! Jordan is just as competent as his father but better looking........ I totally trust these guys. They have gone the extra mile for me each and every time. I have overheard conversations with customers and each and everyone was treated with respect and given options for their repair. Great guys.

really fair pricing and nice staff! I also went here a 2nd time because I thought my car had a gas leak. They put 1/2 a tank of gas in to check it and I was charged less than $40! Diagnostics included. 10 our of 10 would recommend

Honest and trustworthy! We all know how hard it is to find a honest mechanic in your area. Well, thanks to their reviews I gave them a try. I brought them in with an issue that I felt needing fix, from a relative. They got me in the next day, and in the morning called to explain to me why I didn't need to spend my money and there was not a problem, I just had misunderstood. Then, they invited me to show me exactly what they were talking about, potential future fixes that might be needed, and showed me how to check my oil. They sent me off and I had to pay nothing as they did no work on the car. SO appreciative and grateful. I will definitely be coming back for help!

I've always stated I will give any mechanic my repeat business if they treat me honestly and fairly. As others stated, Jordan and his team tell you the truth and give you options before anything has to be fixed. Ultimately the decision is yours. However you can trust they are giving you everything they know about your issue and from all their experiences. Then after all that I would ask them, “Now knowing all that, what would you do if you were me? I trust his answer as much as I would my Brother who is a mechanic or my father who just knew everything :). On top of all that, they stand by their work 100%. For example: Lexus garage (brought in for a recall) surprised me with a “you need to replace all your breaks”. They said they were worn so bad I shouldn't drive off their lot. I did and went immediately to T & T Automotive. My family was heading on a 2300 mile road trip and wanted to know from Jordan what he thought. Answer: They are getting warn down and will eventually (soon) need to be replace. However, there was more than enough left to handle the mountain driving and the 2300 miles. One Colorado trip and 4 months later I stopped into T & T Automotive and had our breaks replaced. I wish every business was this honest and trust worthy.

Amazing service. Took my car there last year for a tire patch, only cost $18. Had to take it again this year for the same tire, but had to get it replaced. Ended up replacing all four tires for a reasonable price. My exhaust system also had been rattling and they fixed it without asking/charging me for it! Would recommend this place for anyone.

Jordan and the rest of the staff here are outstanding. Gives free estimates. Tells you when something is not worth fixing. He does skillful work. He is accommodating and helpful. He is friendly and understanding. Most importantly tho, he is completely honest and up front with me. Having Jordan work on your car is like having a trusted friend of family member that will always be honest with you. For example...he tells me when I can do work myself and will advise me on how to do it! Sure the building is not glitzy and fancy like Bobby & Steve's, but the service makes up for it.
