This place really bums me out. When I first moved to the area I was excited to have a local shop nearby. The idea of a reliable neighborhood mechanic was great!
Then that quickly changed. Initial routine oil changes were completed decently. Then a couple of years ago I had an inspection done on my vehicle as it had recent issues. During a phone call before coming in as well as when dropping off my vehicle I confirmed with them that it would be a full vehicle inspection. I wanted everything on the car checked out, bumper to bumper, and was promised that would happen.
When I came to pick up my vehicle they gave me the inspection report that only covered some major mechanicals and not all parts as promised. I attempted to talk it through with an additional employee/manager to see if we could sort it out and he quickly dismissed it. Essentially telling me to pay up and that they never would have promised a full inspection. So, I stopped going there for a while.
I went back a few weeks ago after staying away for a few years. Figuring maybe the deceptive employee was gone so why not give them another chance. I got a routine oil change which took a bit longer than most places, but was completed as promised. During the oil change they tried to push me to replace my rear license plate lights. I declined since it’s simple enough to do at home. And when I got home I discovered the lights were fully functional.
They had carried forward a work recommendation for replacing those lights from my last visit…years ago. No one had bothered to read the service history for my vehicle! I even called back to ask why they said my working lights were not working. The only explanation they had was that someone had noted they were not working while also having inspection pictures on file showing they were working. It’s disappointing to know that they recommend “repairs” for non-broken parts. Seems like they’re looking for suckers that don’t know any better.
For anyone that goes here, your experience will probably be better than mine. While I strongly encourage you to ask challenge questions about the work you need done. You may find you won’t get what you ask for and maybe don’t even need the service to begin with.
They are just trying to make money. PPI was full of lies. I tried them at their Corcoran location very recently again and felt the same way. I also see they only reply to positive reviews so they truly don’t care about customer service!
After 35 years of owning a car, I’ve finally found an auto service business that I genuinely trust and one that is committed to the customer experience.
Great service. I came in with a coupon, provided by them. They didn't try to upsell me or tell me things were wrong with my car that I needed to fix immediately. They over estimated the time it would take and I was out a half hour earlier. I recommend them.
Very un profesional people I went here for a light bulb change and one of the guys take out my car’s light bulb and broke it. And then blamed me for the damage. They will you car a part and the manager chris will have an arguement with you. Be aware of the lack of responsibility . They break your light bulbs and take away the parts because they broke bulb and took some parts of it . Take your busines elsewhere. Be carefull and run because will pay the price at the end of the day.
These guys take no responsibility the damages they do to your car . They broke my sons low beams light bulb and said “ I have never seen this kind of light bulbs I think they are not oem” We left there with twice the damage we arrived with . Their manager also supports this kind of behivour. Take your car where it is treated best.
Friendly, professional staff with reasonable prices. I came in for windshield wipers and ended up having a good experience all around. The waiting room was comfortable, the snacks were a bonus, and the vibe was welcoming.
Tried GVT for first time for oil change and your rotation. They were easy to schedule with and price was good. Have detailed report once done and felt confident in their work.
The people here are AMAZING! They address issues promptly and work to resolve them. They make you feel heard and are patient with explaining things in a way that is understandable to a "non-car" person.
They fixed a problem that was caused by someone else and understood my frustration and were empathetic.
I would recommend this shop to anyone as I find them to be fair, honest and willing to go the extra mile for their customers.

They were very receptive to my questions on the phone as well as getting me scheduled in a timely fashion. They did what they said they were going to do in the time frame they provided…and that isn’t always easy to find. Reasonably priced. Did not feel that they tried to upsell me or overcharge me. Absolutely will be visiting them again.
Needing to get my tires swapped out seasonally as a lot of places were booked. Got in, and I was estimated an hour and a half to switch out tires. A bit long in my opinion, as where I've gone previously usually takes an hour or less, even during afternoons, but I can understand. Ended up leaving 2 hours later.
However, I'm a bit disappointed that my seasonal tire change compared to other places was $164 with tax. With chain tire shops costing almost half of that, I do think this is very steep.
I also do wish they disclosed, prior to taking my car, the fact that they did some sort of fluid top off. While appreciative for some, I only came in for a tire swap, and I would appreciate an ask if I wanted fluid top offs, because I would have declined, had I known. I was a bit surprised to see my car's hood open when waiting for my car outside, for a tire swap. Receipt doesn't even say what fluids they top off. I expect some transparency about what they are doing to my investment of a car.
Guys in the garage were friendly, however, so I want to give some kudos to them!
I can't say their other services aren't great, but if you want to save money for professional tire services, I would recommend elsewhere.
Quick honest service. I brought my car in for an alignment. It was within all specifications, so they only charged for an alignment check and I was on my way in under 30 minutes.
Brought a company vehicle in and was very transparent on what needed to be done to keep it on the road and what could wait. Very knowledgeable and considerable for your needs.
Tire service was good. They were able to get me a tire in 24 hours and back on the road. Unfortunately though, my battery died and I needed one fast, and I was already behind schedule with my car being sidelined for 24 hours. They were able to sell me a new battery, which was great, but the price was outrageous, which is why I'm only leaving a four star review. I would have given them a five. The battery was really, really expensive. Go there for tires, if you need a battery, pick it up at a battery place. Cheers!
Called the day before to see if they could inspect some speaking brakes. They said I could drop it off next day for inspection. Day after that was the repair. Quick, friendly, and competitive prices.
I cannot say enough positive things about my experience here!! From my first phone call everyone I worked with was helpful, honest and kind. A huge thank you to Chris who made me feel comfortable and never pressured me into fixing additional areas. Joseph and Josh were also very nice to work with. I highly recommend using their services — especially if you’re a woman looking for a pressure-free and trustworthy shop.
this place is great. i had to have my timing belt replaced and compared prices at a few places in town; gv tire was the best price, easily. they did a great job with the repair (the car is running excellently) and were transparent about what else may need to be done (without forcing the issue.)
regarding future repairs, i was told that the cost of the diagnostic (super reasonable; and, again, the best price i found) counts towards the cost of the repair ~~ which rules; not every shop does this! definitely grateful and will be happy to give them my business again.
Brought my car in today to fix some tire leaks.
They wanted the car all day, but weren’t able to find any leaks. I’ve had to fill up 3 times in the past couple weeks and I checked pressures myself beforehand. They didn’t want to diagnose any further, because the “machine would damage the wheels” and suggested I try elsewhere. I have some nice wheels, but does this imply damaging wheels is part of their normal process? They can’t remove tires without damage?
So I am back at square 1, and had to arrange rides to drop off my car and pick up my car. Also, the employee there called me “buddy” a few different times. You should call your customers by their name, or Sir/Ma’am.
At least they didn’t charge me. 2 stars for that. Otherwise a waste of everyone’s time. I won’t be back.
Golden Valley Tire & Service provided the most professional, yet, friendly customer service I'd ever experienced in an automotive shop!
Josh, the Service Manager was especially helpful and informative without over-selling unnecessary products. He explained AND showed me what my car needed and why.
Ryan, the GM was a gracious host by directing me to the waiting area. He offered me to help myself to a variety of drinks and snacks, including a coffee bar. He also handed me the TV remote and said to watch whatever I'd like.
Finally, though I hadn't much interaction with technicians, I did observe the group to be extremely professional and friendly. One thing did stand out. The professional courtesy and communication between the general manager, service manager and techs was superb. Everyone understood their individual role to provide great service as a team.
I had an outstanding experience with Golden Valley Tire, even though they weren't my preferred shop initially. They performed a routine oil change on my Camry. Less than 700 miles later, my car unexpectedly shut off and was completely out of oil. Another shop discovered that the oil filter O-ring hadn't been seated correctly, causing all the oil to leak out and severely damaging the engine.
When I brought the car back to Golden Valley Tire, they took full responsibility for the mistake. They replaced my entire engine, provided regular updates throughout the three-week process, and even gave me a loaner car during the entire repair period. Their honesty and commitment to making things right was truly remarkable. Ryan, the branch manager, went above and beyond to ensure everything was handled professionally. Despite the initial mishap, I was thoroughly impressed with how they turned the situation around. I now plan on using them for future services and highly recommend them for their integrity and excellent customer service.
This place is amazing! I have been going to Honest 1 for YEARS! Honest 1 was telling me for 2 years I had a serious problem, that it had progressively gotten worse. I happened to check with this place. The repair Honest 1 wanted 1400 for was a complete SCAM. Golden Valley Tire and Service did a complete check on my car, and there was things they found that Honest 1 never mentioned. But the best part is, they took pictures of everything so I can actually see and understand. Prices are comparable or a bit less expensive than others. The customer service is Amazing! So friendly and welcoming! I would definitely recommend 10/10!
I've been going to GVT for years with multiple vehicles. Their service has always been on point. I've never felt like I was being pressured or sold on anything like other auto shops. This last visit they really came through for me. For the first time, the work I needed done was unplanned. They made a stressful and expensive situation so much better. They found me the best deal, gave me great advice, helped me with rebates, and delivered on all my requests. They got the work done so much faster and for less than initially anticipated so I wouldn't have to miss work and break the bank right before the holidays. Having them in my immediate community gives me immense peace of mind. Highly recommend these guys.
Fair prices and great service! I called a few places but no one could get me in SAME-DAY to change out my tires to winter ones. Golden Valley Tire and Service took care of me. PLUS provided drinks/snacks in the lobby.
Can 10/10 recommend and will be using them from now on.
I found a new auto service shop for my college aged daughter! I appreciated their prompt service in squeezing my daughter’s tire repair/new tire in the same day. Service is always top notch. They hire experience to take care of customers properly. If they don't have something they can usually order it. Just purchased a set of snow tires and for the first time maybe ever, I DIDN'T have to drive back to the shop & have them rebalance the tires; something that has happened just about every single time I've bought from Discount Tire. Can tell these are dead on 0.0 balanced. Thank you GVTS!
