Got stuck on an off ramp with an empty trailer in a snow storm. Highway patrol made the call and they were there very quickly. Had to be pulled out three times due to my not having any weight in the trailer. There service was outstanding and quick in the midst of a bad snow storm.
My experience with Dan's Diesel in Alexandria was, to say the least, exceptional. They got my truck and trailer in and had the lighting issue I was having diagnosed/fixed in an incredibly short period of time. I barely had time for a shower at the Pilot next door before the truck was done and returned to the parking lot. Everyone I had contact with at Dan's Diesel was pleasant and attentive. Everything that was done was explained to me and all my questions answered. Good shops are rare but Dan's Diesel in Alexandria is definitely one of the good ones. I highly recommend.
We couldn't be more grateful to Dan's Diesel Towing & Repair. Our trailer hit a bump and went off down a small embankment. Dan's diesel helped us out right away fixed whatever needed to be fixed, and we were on the road from the time and happen to the time we were on the road was an hour and 40 minutes. They were super nice on the phone, super nice in person, and I couldn't have asked for more. Their prices were reasonable and fair, and they knew what they were doing. A big thanks to Dan's Diesel.

Broke down with a Clutch Fan belt issue. Dan's Repair responded to the situation immediately and had us up and running within a 1/2 hour.

Overpriced and if you’re truck stuck at the weekend they charge “ after hours call out fee” $100….. one new tire replacement they charge me $698.03. The new tire is $350 & rest their additional fee & tax.
Well had to change my fuel filter/water separator and oil filter, on a Cummins ISX, $235.69. Outrageously insane.
Be carefully getting service here. Cause a pm will cause about $400 or $450, at TA or loves. But just two filters $235.69.
If I could have Done a PM service it will be what $900 or $1000?
Had an issue with my truck, and call the lady off the receptionist very friendly, roadside assistance team came to me right away. They fixed it on the spot for a very reasonable price. Excellent service – 10/10!"

I was picking up the load at SUNopta DC on the cross steet. there’s a robber seal on my trailer door was missed. then they rejected my load and told me that to get fix it. Then i drove to this shop I was not feeling well because i was thinking about this part will messed me up. Because i have another load was booked from OH. Also my driving hrs running and pushing me. Then the nice lady full of respect at the office tried to call couple of places for the parts she tried her best. but ended up NO.
She called her machanic. hard working skinny guy found my parts somewhere in the junk around the shop and fixed right away.

Great place! Stopped in there today with battery/alternator issues and they got us in right away! Very little wait time, had the parts needed on site and the bill was very reasonable. Not the first time we’ve been here and won’t be the last. Give them your business they are amazing!
these guys are simply the best. got picked up today on my road trip after getting a flat tire and then realizing my donut was also flat. they reached me in the middle of nowhere in 60 minutes from being dispatched. super friendly! they drove me all the way to fargo and the price really wasn't that bad. the driver even helped me get to my hotel in fargo which he absolutely didn't have to do. super grateful. if you ever need anything in the area, give them a call!
This is best place I have been to and they helped me while I was broke. Literally No money for more than 2 weeks. They gave me time to bring money together. They finished the work same day but still gave me time. Most mechanics/shops would never do that. Anyway english is my second language but my point is that this is the best shop in Alexandria mn. And I'm here to thank the young man at the front counter and his name is zack. Thank you guys.
Our camper siding peeled off like a banana!! Not great!! I tried multiple RV repair places and no one could help me out. I called Dan's out of desperation bc I wasn't sure he could even help me out. He had someone out in 30 min and we were on the road in an hour with it fixed. Vacation saved!
They came out of the way to help me out. The part I needed was not available but still they helped me with a temporary fix. Really appreciate the effort. Thank you.

The water pump failed on our Jeep late on a Friday evening. I called Dan's and they said they could help no problem. Zac was very helpful! He was up front with the pricing and said they would have someone heading our way shortly. We were about 30 miles north of town. I asked if he knew of a good repair shop that was open on Saturday and he recommended Diamond Buick GMC. (See review. They were wonderful!) Jordan arrived in about an hour. He was very nice, courteous and professional. He delivered the vehicle to the dealership and my wife, our dog and I to the Holiday Inn nearby. Excellent service! Great people! Thank you Dan's Diesel! You made a difficult situation so much better!
Usually my wife manages to get pregnant and have a couple of children before I wait for the tire on my truck to be replaced. But these guys worked in Formula 1 and changed wheels for Schumacher at circuit racing.
I was lucky that my rental car stopped worked a mere 1.5 miles away and they were able to tow within about 30 or so minutes from when I called them. The two guys who met me on the side of the road were nice, and one of them was married to the woman I talked to on the phone who was also very helpful.
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE FOR ROAD SERVICE!!! I NEEDED 4 FITTINGS ON MY BRAKE LINES. CALLED AT 7:50AM. Was told the guy would be in at 8, okay cool. Told them what parts were needed. Was told all good. Even sent them pictures of what was needed. THE SERVICE GUY SHOWS UP FROM 5MILES AWAY AT 9:10 WITHOUT THE PARTS!!! 35 MINUTES TO GO GET THE PARTS.
OH DON'T GET UPSET BY THIS, YOU'LL GET A PHONE CALL BERATING YOU FOR SAYING ANYTHING.
Now at over 2 hrs and he's finally starting what should be a 30-40 minute repair. Took 3hrs. And I'm sure we're getting charged extra for the mileage he should have never driven! He charged for and put a hose spring(the wrong one). And never attached it. Also it was rubbing on the hoses. So he's not even a competent mechanic.
I could go on, but these guys simply should not be used for road service.
I happened to lose not one but two drive tires in the Pilot parking lot at night. Service tech Aaron spoke with me and assured Dan’s could repair my truck. The next morning I checked in with Katy who was genuinely courteous kind and understanding to my situation. I left my cell number so I could be contacted. As I waited in the Pilot drivers lounge, Katy didn’t call, but took the time to walk over to the lounge to give me an update! Then when truck was complete, again, she made the walk!! A professional service was fine to my truck! Great customer relations. To Katy, Jon, Drew, Aaron, and the rest of the crew, I truly appreciate your kind, professional courtesy!!
I’m an OTR truck driver and had a load to get from West to East… going trough MN before stoping for my 10 hour break in Alexandria Pilots truck stop my truck started vibrating and i stopped to check it out on the side of the road! I was 20-25 miles away from Pilot!
When i opened the hood i had oil everywhere… called the nearest tow company Dan’s Diesel towing and repair ( a friend recommended them)
Katie answered fast(it was arround 2 am)! Jon got The tow truck where i was as fast as he could and helped me get to the shop in Alexandria MN (Dan’s Diesel inc)!
Even though the shop was closed on Saturday he checked the truck out to see what the issues can be besides a broken oil pipe that goes from the transmission to the oil cooler!
To make the story shorter i ended up having a bad transmission because it went out of oil , a bad clutch because of the vibrations that were created by the transmission, oil lines that go the oil cooler , a lot of work had to be done! The parts are realy hard to get these days but Jon and Katie and Pat tried their best to find the parts as fast as they could!
Usualy to get a transmission and a clutch in most shops takes over a week … i got everything done in a few days!
Besides Jon and Katie i also meet the entire team Nathan, Pat, Aron, Ryan, Dan and all are professional and nice hard working people!
Jon and Katie got me from and to the hotel daily , treat me good… just amazing people!
Whenever i will have repairs or when I’m traveling through Alexandria MN will definitely stop by this shop! Amazing people.Amazing service!

These people. What a trip back in time when good service was the norm, not the exception. Chief lady boss is phone busy like no relief, yet with each individual you receive courteous and complete service. Mechanics were thorough and quick. Got me in and out in one day, while prognosis was 2 day minimum, and did end to end work. No short cuts, no skipping. And they shuttled me to a hotel, and back the next day. Out of their way service and happy about it. ?. Thanks to them.
Very honest people! Definitely a breath of fresh air from the usual grumpy mechanics/workers you find at most shops who seem to be ready to give a driver an attitude. These guys are friendly and actually greet you with a smile and show concern! Come in with respect and you’ll get respect in return.
