I took some copper to sell it to them and I weigh in with my friend inside the truck on the way out I made a mistake and forgot to get on the truck to weigh out so before I when back and sell more copper and i get a call from one of my buddies that work there and he told me about the issue he said in order to sell more I would have yo pay back the weight difference so I agreed I went back sold more copper and they discounted a huge chunk so that wasn’t the problem my big problem is that he is telling other people that I scam him and that im a thief when I went back and show my face and pay the back !! Dont go to this place!! Horrible people
Dealt with them through Peddle. Scheduled the appointment today at 9am. It’s now 11am and the vehicle is gone and i have cash in hand. No issues, and the driver was very nice.
So I used the pedal app, and Ruby recycling was the one that was going to take my vehicle, I have a problem with my phone and it likes to just restart all the time, so I called them set up the appointment, they were supposed to be in between 9:00 and 10:00 in the morning, did everything I was supposed to do ,had flat tires, I made sure that they were inflated so it would be easier for this company, time out of my day, loss of wage, never got a phone call from them, so I called them to let them know my phone is a little screwed up everything set I'm here waiting on you guys, never showed up, not even a phone call to me to say hey sorry we can't make it today we're going to have to reschedule, I don't do bad reviews, I have a lot of people who see my reviews, this is the first time that I've made a bad review, and now today I got hey they're canceling picking up my vehicle, it's just like I made it so easy for these people, they never called me ,I called them three times, like I guess it is what it is ,but I hope anybody that reads this does not use this company, but I know people will because people need to get there things recycled or need money ,however we don't need the money, I'm just trying to get rid of a vehicle that's sitting in my driveway, like I guess this is why scrap dog probably gets way more business, even though they undercut you, again I don't need the money and I'm just going to call scrap dog because they're going to come pick it up and I don't even have to be here, all I have to do is show up to their office and collect my money, I should have just used them in the beginning other than my wife doesn't want to use them, I'm going to make sure the people who do read my reviews which are quite a lot of people ,I'm going to make sure that they know about this and they don't use this company. Bad on you Ruby. Really you guys owe me about 250 more dollars because of my loss of wage, thank God I don't need money. So when I get done posting this I will be posting on my other account, which is not linked to any of my other accounts which has considerable amount of reviews, I think since you guys cost me money that I should cost you money, in the end it's really not going to affect you, but maybe a couple percents, but maybe that should happen, you're a bad company. At least scrap dog never did me dirty, an only Ruby was only going to be paying me $5 more than what scrap dog was so it's really not that bad of a difference, so I'll take my $5 loss, while you take a bigger portion of a loss due to the fact that people will see my other posts and will never use you.
I spoke to the tow truck driver and the dispatch. Letting them know that I was able to open it when they picked up my vehicle, both of them told me to call back and now my vehicle is crushed. Why say I can pick up my belongings if nobody is going to communicate? Now my son things are crushed and I bet nobody is going to replace it
I had a different company that was supposed to pick up my car 1 day ago and never showed up and never called so i called Ruby Recycling and they came right out and got here exactly when they said they would! The driver was so helpful and friendly, he made the pick up process so easy and quick and paid me in cash. Also the cash offer was very competitive with other companies. I would definitely recommend them to anyone that wants to get rid of a vehicle that is no longer needed or no longer running! They are absolutely a five star company in my book!!
They get zero stars for being sleezy backwards dealing scam artists. Had an agreed upon price for a van for 560, then dropped the price over 100 dollars over a technicality. Do not do business with them they lie and dont honor their deals. I have to give them one star to post this but if it were an option they would get zero
A business in a residential area that is supposed to be in an industrial zone… creating unhealthy air quality… how can you feel good about a company with a preschool right behind you!! Causes Dix Hwy to be a danger to drive on with the amount of mud tracks across all lanes of travel, constant dust clouds making visibility impossible… allowing trucks upon trucks parked along Dix making it dangerous to pull out of neighboring businesses and side streets… Extremely loud noises at 7am when residents in the area are trying to sleep or waking up to get ready to go to work… all streets in the area is filthy from your company.. trucks coming down our side streets tearing up our roads worse than they already are… Can’t even sit on my front porch or open my windows when it’s nice outside because of all the dust that blows into my house and on my porch.. The residents are sick of your mindless acts and in works of class action law suits to shut you down… state representatives have been notified… better think of relocating before you are shut down… You have no remorse for the paying off city officials to by pass the zoning laws to move in…
Out of all the junkyards we called, they paid the most for my old car, that died on me. Also, they were friendly and professional. It was a very pleasant experience overall.
THE RUDEST LADY ON THE PHONE 8 HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!!! We had a vehicle scheduled for pickup with these people. We needed to change the time and the location of the pickup and when I called this woman did nothing but cut me off, and yell at me. I have never dealt with somebody who's running a business who's been so incredibly rude to a customer as this woman! I would never do business with them. In fact, when I got off the phone with her, I called someone else. And I got more money and much better customer service.
I had a pleasant experience working with this company. I sold my old beat up vehicle with Peddle who sent me through Ruby’s and I was impressed with how fast Ruby’s Recycling reached out to me and how seamless the scheduling process was! The driver had good professional communication and got the vehicle secured without a problem after doing a quick inspection. Would definitely recommend using this service provider especially if they handle their other services as good as they do with picking up vehicles.
The driver that came was completely unknowledgeable and tried to scam me. They came late, informed me they would be late when the appointment window was 9 minutes from being over. They had came and pointed at the catalytic converter on the car and claimed it was straight piped. They even say they didn't know what that long tube that was clearly a catalytic converter was. They tried get it for 150 bucks cheaper, which i had called Peddle and they said that this was a direct violation of their contact. These people WILL scam you. Be wary, they don't know cars.
Since this place opened, my nearby house and vehicles have been covered with thick metallic dust. There are double trailer coal miner semis, full size car carriers, and smaller car carriers all lined up blocking traffic in the dix turn lane, driving up and down residential streets right across from it, destroying and blocking the roads. Rodent population nearby has gone up. I can only imagine the amount of polluting going on in those big buildings. Is LP so desperate for short term money to let these vultures tear up and pollute the city. Let the taxpayers of future clean up the contamination and repair the roads I guess.
My 2011 Ford Focus was recently picked up and I was very happy with my experience- the driver was super friendly, made everything very easy, and that’s exactly what I needed to say goodbye to a car that’s been in my life for a decade. Thank you so much.
Agreed to sell my vehicle to them for $600 but I agreed to reduce the price to $550 if I removed the transmission. I decided to leave the trans inside the vehicle and confirmed with the same rep I started communicating with, that the price will be $600. They sent a driver with $550 who arrived at my pick up location. I called the rep only to be told that the deal was magical $550 from the beginning with no talk of any transmission. Complete scam artist. It's the principle that counts, if I would have agreed to $550 so be it, I would have done it for that price originally. Don't pull a fast con then play stupid. Do not do business with these people.
Had an evening pickup between 5 and 6 in Hazel park. Never got a call from the driver. Called them the next morning, got put on hold for them to look at my account, sat there for 10 mins for her to come back saying sorry for the hold how can I help you today? Then proceeded to offered zero help after having an entire family wasting a Friday night that could've taken 5 minutes. Absolutely horrible customer service.
I called and made an appointment from 1-2pm and the tow truck driver never showed up. I called back 8 times and would get transferred over to someone else that would never answer the phone or if she did she would tell me she would call me back. From my experience this is a terrible company to rely on to come pick up your vehicle. Strongly suggest using a different company.
one of the owners Jay Mentzel was super communitive and accommodating the entire time I delt with him on the phone and through text. I sent an email one night for info and got a call the next morning. I needed 2 40 yard dumpsters for a large job I had in Southfield. He made the process super easy. I plan on doing more business with Ruby Recycling in the near future! ! 5 star service
