Walt is the man at Ryan's Pick-A-Part. He never fails to help me with any questions I may have, he'll be completely honest about what ever your inquiry may be. Ryan's has been my go to for everything auto first, they have saved my auto financial life on so many occasions.
The most wonderful thing is that it's placed right within the community.
I had a bad experience today there the security is totally unprofessional. I bought a bumper and a taillight. When I was done purchasing it I get to the door security guard just grabs it off my cart and start shaking his and told me to go head I thought he was playing at first until he would not give back saying I was trying to steal it without checking my receipt my time going and my last that’s how u treat a customer who spent over a $100
Great place! Well organized, friendly staff, and fair prices compared to other stores. I easily found the part I was looking for. I always get all the parts I need for my car from here. Highly recommend this place! I’ll definitely come back again.
Great place to go on a budget and I'm going back but one thing do not do not wear long pants because the h e m of your pants will be picking up everything all the oils dirt on the grind off the ground there oh yes by the way bring some bottle water and lots of paper towel to drink and also wipe your hands
Ryan's is great. I live 40 minutes north of here but it's well worth the drive. The inventory rotates regularly with a huge inventory of vehicles. This is important as i'm usually able to find the parts I'm looking for, even ones in high demand. Staff are great, prices are fair and they are SO smart to have the Hotdog stand at the entrance. Not sure why more places don't do that. Vending machines are a nice touch.
Go check them out, it's worth the drive.
This place is AWESOME! The salvage yard is huge & they have tons of stuff! It's like treasure hunting for affordable auto parts for the fix-it-yourself crowd. Absolutely worth the drive to Detroit!
If I could give them zero stars I would!!!! DO NOT! I repeat DO NOT PATRONIZE this establishment! This I the worse place to ever go get parts or help. They lie and they’re manipulative! I got a rim and tire here it was almost $100. I told them I didn’t need the tire but they insisted it had to be sold that way. I explained that the tire on my car wasn’t bad so they informed me to bring back the rim and tire off the car and they would give me $20 back. I bring it back and they all of a sudden switch the story up and tell me they’ll give me $2 back! I hope this place shuts down immediately for unlawful practices and theft! This is the 2nd time I’ve had a bad experience with these people. I only came back because that’s where the mechanic sent me. WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT SUPPORT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They will try to rob you one way or another! But this will be the last time they take advantage of anyone else
Nice yard, I really like to spend the day searching for the stuff I'm looking to find. So much to choose from in the yard. Lots of new stuff. Keeps me going back.
I purchased some auto parts from these guys yesterday. Somehow by mistake I left behind a radiator. By the time I realized the mistake was too late, emailed them right away, no response. Called them first thing in the morning explaining the situation, been put on hold for some time then the person comes back with an answer ''Come down here and look in the container, we put everything in a container come see which one is yours''. I go over there to encounter a person telling me ''IT IS NOT HERE'' thought I was going there to look inside a container to see which one radiator is mine. Called the office again, this time around the person tells me a totally different story and no container. It took me 45 minutes to drive there as I live in Downriver area. The person I was dealing with was very uncooperative, attitude up to the sky and bothered with my presence over there looking for a lost radiator. See picture below, that is where I mistakenly left the radiator, right in front of the door and security guard. Very unprofessional!

I had a great experience with this website, which provided accurate information and the location of the car I was looking for. It was my first time visiting, and Walter was excellent; he guided me in the right direction when checking in and handled the checkout process quickly, even when another customer was rude and tried to interrupt. I didn’t have to wait long at all. I will definitely keep this place in mind for my future needs.
I absolutely love Ryan's Pick Apart in Detroit! It's my favorite u-pull yard to support. The exceptional service at the checkout, especially from Walt, truly sets them apart. I've noticed Walt consistently opening a third register to keep the lines moving quickly, which is a big plus! His dedication and friendly demeanor make all the difference. Walt is a real asset to this place, and it’s his outstanding customer service that keeps me coming back over the competitors. Highly recommend!
I lost my wallet and didn't realize it for about an hour later... When I returned to Ryan's a customer had found it and gave it to management. Ryan's is a Hella spot to shot and has excellent customers thanks to the guy who found my wallet!
Me and my son went here on the 10 of June of 2025 to try and find a door for my vehicle, I had my e.s.a. with me and as we walked in the manager said you can't bring your dog in and I tried to explain that she was my e.s.a. but he interrupted me and had a very rude tone with me . My son then preceeded to tell him you don't need to be so rude to my mom, the manager then preceeded to get rude with my son and threatened to kick him out saying my son was threatening. I took my dog back to the car . The part wasn't even there anyways
But that manager needs to learn some manners that's for sure!!!!
Im a 3rd generation auto technician and have been going here for 90% of the used parts i need for my customers, families, and my personal vehicles for well over 3 years now... I can count on one hand over those years I left empty handed without what I needed to complete a vehicle. because of the selection of being able to pick from the multiple vehicles of the model im needing to get a part for im able to pick the quality of the part I need to make a quality repair of the vehicle to my satisfaction... other yards, if they even have the model vehicle your looking for that is, only have one car of the make and model your repairing, usually it's also already picked to the bones and doesn't have the part you need, and or the part is in poor condition... I drive past probably 3 yards to get to ryans knowing I will almost guarantee I will get a part of the quality im looking for without wasting anytime at any other yards... guys and gals that worrk there thar have been there multiple years know me and the ones that are newer also treat me respectfully and professionally... id highly recommend ryans for any vehicle or motorcycle repairs you need to complete
Love this yard! Nominal $2 entry with great selection of vehicles to pick from. They have most of the cars grouped together by the brand, so the dodge section or Honda section can be found all in one area. Came here and picked off some parts for my mom's van, easy and friendly service.
Then a week later I texted them pictures of my jeep and within minutes they had a cash offer and came and picked it up with the tow truck within a few hours! I will be back for more pickin!
