Finally a competent and caring mechanic that I can trust. More than helpful with repairs and really fair with price. It's a good feeling to pay a bill and feel good about the service. Will recommend to family and friends. This is the first Google review I have ever left and it's because I am sincere about what a good experience it was.
I had my vehicle checked twice for shaking steering wheel, but was told they could not find anything wrong. I then took it Bauer and Sons Mike found the problem right away. Thank you Mike. It needed new brake calipers, brake pads and machined both front rotors. NO More shaking. I will go back to him if I need any work done again

Went in for my air compressor and serpentine belt, and found out, that they absolutely know nothing about them, when their supposed to be mechanics.
Never again, they absolutely sux

Mr. Bauer is a very upstanding human being as well as a great auto mechanic.
I've had a strange issue with my car for awhile. No other mechanic was able to diagnose it.
The car was a backup car that I intended to work on myself as a fun project. I had bought a bunch of parts on Ebay and Amazon and I was going to install them myself hoping to solve the issue. Unfortunately my health hit a bit of a rough patch in the past year so I can't really wrench on cars. Then last month my project backup car became my sole car.
I took the car to Bauer & Sons with all my parts I've collected fully expecting him to do what I was going to do - throw them in and hope one of them solved the issue.
Mr. Bauer could've have just taken my money and done needless repairs but that is not what he did. He too the time to pin point the issue. Yes it meant taking the car back into him a couple of times but when you're trying to diagnose issues with cars that is not only normal it's expected. There are lots of things that go wrong with cars and trying to find the exact thing causing the issue can be like finding a needle in a haystack.
I am grateful Mr. Bauer took his time in finding the root cause rather than just tossing all my parts in and crossing his fingers.
Turns out I wasted a couple of hundred dollars buying parts that I didn't need but saves a lot more taking the car to an honest guy who was raised right.
Don't think twice about taking your car to Bauer & Son's. He's as honest as the day is long.

There are very few options in town for getting your vehicle fixed right at a reasonable cost! So give him a break if he can't get your vehicle in immediately! Thank You Mike for all you do! I hate to do this. But I'm reducing my review to one star. I had an apt. With Baur. Due to circumstances beyond both our control, I canceled. I gave him 3 days notice. He said to call him next week and he would acomidate me. What that means is he will give me an appointment 3 weeks from now.
This for a simple oil change and tire rotation. Unnaceptable.
