This company is owned and operated by some of the shadiest and scummy people I have ever had to deal with! I rearranged my schedule to accommodate the date and time they were supposed to come and install new culvert. no one ever showed up and I never recieved a phone call telling me they were not coming. when I requested a refund of my deposit I was told that wasn't going to happen, even though no work or materials were delivered. Do not , I repeat emphatically DO NOT EVER DEAL WITH THIS GROUP OF CROOKS!!! On a side note the owner Dalston Alstead is running for the state senate as a republican, as a registered republican voter, after dealing with his scummy company I would vote for any democrat before putting him in any position of leadership!
Daltson and Kimberly really came through in the clutch for me. I called on Thursday to get 10 yards of compost to top dress my lawn. It was delivered Friday by 2 pm. I then needed 5 more yards and called Daltson after hours on Friday. Had my 5 extra yards delivered by 10 am on a Saturday! These guys really helped me out in a bind!!
I hired Stone Yard Landscape Center to install a new culvert at our place and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
From the first call to the final cleanup, they were professional, honest, and easy to work with. The crew showed up when they said they would, explained exactly what they were doing, and did the job right the first time. The culvert drains better than it ever has, and looks great.
I can't speak to their quality of work. I ended up going with someone else.
Asked them for a quote. They used some of those high pressure aggressive sales tactics. "If you don't do it soon the price will go up and the work will be pushed out many months."
They pushed me to admit I was getting additional quotes and acted a little offended by that. "We will do it cheaper"
They wouldn't provide a written quote.
I had all my permits ready to go also and they made me feel stupid for bothering getting permits even though it's required by law. This was the biggest red flag honestly.
Also check the reviews for Michigan Culvert. I have heard they are related companies. I have not 100% confirmed this but it seemed plausible. This combined with everything above was the final nail.
I imagine if your looking for a quick and dirty job or just getting your own supplies from them it would be ok but for what I needed they didn't give me a good feeling.
I signed their contract (unfortunately) had buyers remorse and after giving them a deposit of $1586.00 within 24 hours asked for my deposit back. No way Jose' argued with salesman and even talked to owner and still no refund. Ok then asked for them to do at least $1500.00 work on my culvert they wouldn't even respond . On social security here and needed my money back. These people are thiefs and they should be ashamed. DON'T DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE.
