These guys know their stuff. Brought my 2016 duramax with a fuel priming issue and they figured it out within an extremely reasonable time and ease. Merchant is extremely top notch with how they treat their customers and their customers vehicles. Very hard to come by nowadays. Everything you would hope for from a business specially a shop. Especially Kevin, he was VERY communicative, and let me know exactly what was going on. And when other problems arose he was sure to let me know. Dudes great at his job.I seriously can’t recommend a shop more. Excellent service Won’t be going anywhere else.

Stuff is a little pricey but it's good quality and they know their stuff so you are getting good knowledge along with it.

Came in thinking i had to and willing to buy a new valve body for my transmission walked out with a couple of parts at a fraction of the price. Took a tour of the shop also, really cool. Definitely coming back!!!

Installed a merchant auto severe duty steering box with gm pitman arm on my 06 duramax and it made a world of a difference. Made it a lot easier to steer the truck, and fixed the old sloppy feel. Shipping was quick.

These guys are AWESOME!! They went way above and beyond to help me with parts, expertise and even so far as bring a couple tools out to the parking lot that let me get past a challenge reassembling my own transfer case. I drive a 2012 Chevy 2500 with a 6.6 Duramax LML. It’s been down for almost 4 weeks while I replace all the injectors. I’ve had all the injectors out multiple times over the last few years (mostly due to a ruptured o-ring) but this time was different. Normally I could have all of the injectors out and reinstalled within two or three evenings but the #6 did not want to let go. Over the years I’ve modified various tools to help me remove the injectors. Sometimes a slide hammer, sometimes a ratchet strap for tension and then lightly tapping on the injector. This time we used an arsenal of tools including an air chisel but it would not budge. This past Sunday, my neighbor and I were at our breaking point when I decided to look at Merchant Automotive again. I had looked at their injector removal tool a week prior but honestly I was skeptical. Finally I bit the bullet and ordered it with 2nd day shipping. It arrived on Wednesday of this week, once I opened the package I had the injector out in less than 10 minutes. It fought me the whole way but this tool 100% does what it was built to do. Thank you MA for making a great tool!!

They have always had what we needed and price and advice was great. Charlie, in Customer Service , as well as others I have spoken to, have been friendly, knowledgable and fabulously helpful! I called ahead to pickup a new thermostat for my LML after I got out of work. Upon arrival I was greeted with many happy faces welcoming me into their clean and decorated waiting area/lounge. Within 30 seconds of walking through the door I had my new part in hand and was paying them. The service writer Kevin was super professional and nice. He even threw in a handful of stickers that I proudly put on my truck. 10/10 recommend and they will always receive my business in the future.

I’ve been buying parts from Charlie, Eric and the team for over 11 years. They are great communicators, they offer amazing solutions to problems that no one else in the industry does, fast shipping and always a joy to work worth. Wish all vendors were as good as Merchant Automotive.

Ordered parts for my duramax 250hd needed them over nighted. Ordered and shipped out Friday and didn't received over weekend Federal Express looked up package and tracked it said we could pick up sat or Sunday but part didn't even reach destination tell late sunday nightso had to wait for Monday delivery. Package wasn't marked overnight when it cost more shipping overnight will not order anything overnight from them again.

Part kit was perfect fit and has worked great since the install. Couldn’t find it anywhere else but merchant auto. Definitely glad I found what I needed !

Update: I received a call from Charlie with Merchant Automotive shortly after my original review was posted. He apologized for the lack of communication and made it a priority to fix this for me. They took care of filing for lost items through the shipping company and immediately shipped out the lost portion of my order. Nice to see a company that cares about their customers. Thanks again!! Poor packaging and a shipping company that just doesn’t care led to only a portion of my order arriving. I ordered (4) individually packaged items that shipped in the same box. When it arrived the main box had burst, in transit, and was re-taped by the shipping company. When I opened the package I found that the packages on the inside of the main package had also become open during shipping and only (2) of the (4) were in the box. I documented the packaging with pictures and contacted Merchant Automotive to explain the situation. I was told that the individual that I needed to talk too was busy but they would call me back before close to business. That was over a week ago and I have had zero response. One thing to note: I placed this order while I was on vacation and it was delivered while I was on vacation. I didn’t get to open the package, or discover the missing items, until 2 days after it was delivered. Their website says to contact within 24 hours with any shipping issues. Maybe this is why I haven’t had a call? Not sure because I got zero response.

I purchased a transfer case pump upgrade and housing rebuild kit. Like it says, it came with everything I needed. To include technical support within minutes of dialing up the # on their web site. It was a very technical question that the tech needed to get confirmation on. He got his confirmation and a very clear answer to my question quickly. Totally worth buying directly from Merchant for that kind of support. Not to mention they had the best price I could find online.

I know of so many people who have had a terrible experience here, as well as myself. They didn’t pay off my trade in for MONTHS after the purchase, even after I’ve already made my payment on my new car. After talking to other people, turns out I’m not the only one this happened to. This has negatively impacted my credit score along with several others. My credit score was significantly decreased because I had over 7 inquiries even though I qualified for a special rate through Honda. The contract has a completely different date and signature than the one I originally signed. They wouldn’t give me my title application for several weeks so I couldn’t get my tag registered and got pulled over twice BUYER BEWARE. They only care about making sure everything is settled on their end, everybody else be damned. Not PAYING off my trade in for months after my purchase isn’t legal.

So, I ordered a set of the Merchant Automotive engine mounts for my 2002 LB7. As I was lowering the engine down into place the passenger side was 2" off from lining up. So after about an hour of wondering what was going on I reached out to a diesel Facebook page to ask for help. Within minutes Kevin Rozema who is a manager at Merchant Automotive reached out asking what was going on and tried to work it out and told me to shoot him a call first thing Monday morning. Note: This is 8pm west coast time so 11pm east coast. About 20 minutes late Eric Merchant reached out to me and helped me through the issue. Come to find out when I ordered the engine saddle one side was for a Duramax and the other side was for a 6.0 LS. I would have never expected to have this type of customer service at 11:00 pm from anyone. I will deal with merchant automotive for my diesel needs from now on.

I ordered 2 gallons of AC Delco Dexron VI automatic transmission fluid on Friday morning. FedEx had them on my front porch Sunday morning. 2 days! Fast shipping! Now that's how to do business! So I’ll be open about it; I’ve been a customer for 15-20yrs and have gotten to know the team and owner pretty well. I’d go so far as to say they’re friends. I recognize them and they recognize me when we see each other. They’ve always done me well and take care of the things I when I ask or need them. I recommend them first and foremost out of many of the places I know that do duramax and Allison work. They also supply and offer accessories and better quality products that are available. Many of which are made right here in Michigan though from the other side of the state. Pictures are of my Allison after they built it and before it was installed.

I had the head gaskets go out in my 2014 lml. There was never a question as to where I was going to take my truck to get to get them replaced. I was not disappointed! From the time it went to the shop, until the time I received it back, there was great communication from Kevin, the service manager. He was able to answer any question I had quickly with their messaging feature. These guys are the Duramax specialists! I got the truck back and 3 days later hooked my travel trailer up and headed out on vacation. Never had a doubt in my mind that there would be any issues! I have a stock 2005 Chevy duramax with the Allison1000 and the transmission started slipping and giving us problems. I called Charlie at Merchant Auto and he was very helpful. He didn’t try to sell me what I didn’t need. He sold me the work series rebuild kit with the valve body and single disk torque converter. I had never rebuilt any transmission before this one. During the rebuild I came across a few things I wasn’t sure about, I called Merchant Auto and talked to Joe, one of the specialist and he was very helpful and patient with me. They answered all my questions and the whole process was very smooth. I couldn’t believe how well it shifted the first test drive. We have since pulled several heavy loads with it, and it is working great. I’m very happy with the product and support I got from Metchant and definitely recommend them. Thank you!

Merchant Auto should be every Duramax owners first stop for replacement and performance parts! the guys are very knowledgeable and great to work with. installed the MA transfer case brace on my manual 2004 Duramax that is pushing over 560hp and over 1000 ft/lbs at the rear wheels on the dyno. I knew from the second i called that Merchant Automotive was the company to trust with all my needs. i have worked on friends Duramaxs as well and they will tell you nothing but good words about their experience with Merchant Auto after i sent them to the website for fuel system parts.
