This review is for Expert Oil Change...Pennzoil...recently acquired by Bayview. All they did was change the oil and filter and check my turn signals and lights. I paid for full service....almost $100. They did not check my washer fluid, tire pressure, transmission fluid level, air filter, wipers, etc. like the receipt says they did. Not going back!!
We had to have the A/C compressor replaced in our car before a road trip in August. Bayview was excellent at communicating promptly and got us in quickly for repairs to be completed. They also worked with us to make sure we were able to afford the repair.
We were visiting from out of town and our mother’s van was making a strange noise. They took it in right away on a Sunday and fixed it within less than 24 hours! Pleasant to work with and affordable!
As female who knows little about cars and drives a high mileage vehicle, I felt very comfortable and grateful for the service they provided. They were professional with keeping me up to date with my repairs and up front about the costs. High recommend. I wasn’t planning on having them do the work, but as I was paying to leave I noticed their awards for customer service and now under why. Also, I was really only in contact with Brandon and he was great.
Beware Hidden Price For Inspection!! ($115-135)
Be sure to EXPLICITLY ASK for Yes/No to inspection and ask for price for Inspection because they don't have it posted in the walkway / office.
I personally knew everything wrong with my car already, it states on their wall anything over $50 is a written statement BEFOREHAND. But they asked for my consent AFTER they already charged me for Inspection (WHICH I DIDNT UNDERSTAND WAS HAPPENING) There was a clear miscommunication and I refuse to believe I had all the information prior to working with them. Complete and total fix if they had signage of some kind referencing the COST TOTAL of a MANDATORY INSPECTION?? Like I had told John or Jon several times I need to know the total cost UPFRONT BEFORE ANYTHING WAS DONE. WHICH WOULD HAVE INCLUDED THE 135 DOLLARS I HAD TO PAY BESIDES THE ONLY PART I NEEDED INSTALLED. all I'm asking for is a genuine sign and telling me there will ALWAYS be a charge of $115 for INSPECTION REGARDLESS OF WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE.
If they actually CARED about my PREACHING to my BUDGET they should have %100 told me PRIOR in any fashion about the inspection charge. I would have consented to it THEN ON PAPER NOT AFTER WHERE I CANT REFUSE THE SERVICE BECAUSE IT ALREADY HAPPENED.
Bullshit. The work they do is good no doubt.
But I can still hate and loathe the treatment I received with an iron fist.
I consider your Inspection a hidden fee from my circumstance.
Unfortunately I had to change my review. The staff are really nice, clean shop, and good location. My issue is that I had a flex pipe replacement just two years ago, it already blew out. I just had it replaced again which I'm surprised that it had to be done so soon, but also the bill was 30% higher. The increase for any business within a two year span should be between 4% and 10%. I also know a couple that brought their Jeep Latitude in for the same thing at the same time as I initially did, their pipe needs to be replaced again as well.
I've been going here awhile and always get great service. They almost always accommodate my schedule. They are always up front about cost of service and conveniently send a quote for approval. If anything ever seems amiss with a repair always discuss it, they will make it right. Great job! Thanks for everything!
listen, I may have just driven through far too much winter wonderland weather, but my car was not okay. I was on my way out of town to drive five hours south and found this body shop right on schedule, thankfully. this crew jumped right to test driving and throwing my car up on a lift. turns out nothing was broken, despite the intense shaking my lil subi was experiencing. they were able to knock out all the ice and snow buildup and get us back on the road without danger. I am so grateful! Also, they sell mature jades in the shop- hello, beautiful ?
Owner and mechanics have loads of experience, great customer service and patience with questions. 100% recommend and will go back for future services!.

They answer the phone when you call and schedule appointments that aren’t weeks away and do good work. It’s good to have someone that understands that time is valuable to both customer and mechanic. Efficient.

Always a great experience at Bay View Car Care. Ron and fellow mechanics have helped me numerous times. Even with a full parking lot & workload, they’ve been able to easily and quickly get my vehicles back on the road. Just out of curiosity, we recently took a vehicle to a different shop for an estimate. Bay View Car Care was able to get our car fixed up three days early and for $1k less than the other shop. They didn't want to share a whole lot of info about my new tires which was wierd to me, I guess because I'm a girl?. They were also directional and 2 we're put on backwards
Seems like a scam, I bought my own parts not knowing they don't do customer parts. I asked if I returned the parts I bought and them just go buy the parts themselves and their response was they didn't want to do the work now for some unknown reason lmao. Because I knew what my parts actually cost?
This is an excellent auto shop to get your vehicle worked on. The people that work there are genuinely nice and do very good work. I’ve been taking my truck there for a few years and they always get it in and repaired in a timely fashion. I highly recommend this place.
Would highly recommend, will use again. My alternator failed on my only vehicle while my friend was visiting, basically stranding us. I called around and everyone was booking several days out, and in most cases over a week. I called this shop and explained the situation, and they gave me an appointment the next morning. And they did the repair while I was waiting. Phew. The vehicle has been running great ever since. I really appreciate the work these folks did.
Service is always top notch, they get you in & out in a timely fashion, pricing is very reasonable….what more can you ask for, highly recommend Bayview Car Care!
Have been blessed to establish a fantastic relationship with the two John's & crew here at BCC! Great communication, good work performed & reasonable warranty work/part replacement provided should it be deemed necessary, and good ethics practiced here. With all the drama created by covid-19 ?? these guys have continually worked through to keep their clients on the road. Definitely worth checking them out for yourself the next time you require vehicle maintenance or service.?
They wanted to charge $345 for a remanufactured alternator when a new one can be bought for $188. All the other parts were marked up to nearly double what they actually cost. When I dared to question it the owner became very rude. I had my car towed to another repair shop because I will never allow them to work on it.
I was in town for work and my muffler fell. I called first thing in the morning. They told me to bring my car in. By the time I got to work they already called and let me know what was wrong and they had my car done in 1.5 hours!!
My car had a rodent's nest that exploded in the fan. By the time it went into Bayview Car Care decay (maggots) had set in. John replaced, bleached and deodorized. He went way over the top to fix the odor. I took him a plate of cookies! ♡♡♡
Bayview is an awesome business with a great knowledgeable staff. Highly efficient and friendly, they treated me with respect. I am from out of town and limped my vehicle to their shop. I communicated with the staff over the phone while I was in the Upper Peninsula for the week. When I returned the car was repaired flawlessly and waiting for me to pick up. I jumped in and drove it home without issue. Would recommend to anyone seeking quality work, honest people, and a fair price.
Ok so we were stranded in Petosky Mich. 300 miles from home and halfway on our vacation. My starter went out. We called everywhere we could find....4-5 day wait. So we were done.....BUT...NO WE WERENT!!! This place took our truck and put a starter in it in like 1 1/2 hrs. Not only that...they told us a close place to walk to get something to eat. They are now part of my family and I cant thank them enough!!❤
