Had my mustang just recently worked on at transmissions & more. Had a set of 3.73 gears put in the rear axle. Mike gasperich, he did a great job. Reasonable priced for job and everything is sound and tight no noises in rear axle. Very happy with my experience with him he is very good and honest. Very happy I went to him to get that job done. My experience with Mike Gasperich, the owner of Transmissions & More, is that he is honest, professional and not out to gouge anyone. And in the automotive repair business, we all know how rare that is! My wife and I were in Escanaba visiting her parents for a couple of weeks and I took a quick, solo 3-day trip down to Detroit to visit my family and friends. On the way back, I drove through torrential rain and my Nissan nearly stranded me when it went into "limp mode" on I-75 forcing me to pull off in the middle of heavy traffic going 80+ mph. I'd been through this routine once before with my Juke's infamous CVT and feared the worse. After I got back to Escanaba, I attempted a number of times to call the Nissan dealership in Marquette, but they brushed me off and apparently didn't want my business (no surprise). Well, we needed to drive back home (1100 miles!) in a couple of days and honestly, I was starting to panic. After a solid day of getting no return calls, I was getting more and more worried about the upcoming drive home. Then I had a thought to call another honest and trustworthy mechanic in Escanaba, Eric Mathieson (who has done a lot of work over the years for my father in-law), for a reference for someone who could work on my CVT. Eric said Mike was THE man. So I called Mike and though he said he was slammed with a backlog of cars to finish, he worked me in on an emergency basis to diagnose what I feared would be an extremely expensive and drawn out fix. When he pulled the code, turns out it was an engine sensor and not a transmission issue (thank God!), and he immediately knew to check the air filter. Check out the photos here, attached, and you'll see what my problem was: The torrents of rain and high winds had apparently shredded my air filter, which then tripped an engine sensor. Mike had dealt with this kind of issue before (well sure- he's been doing automotive and transmissions repair for 51 years!!). But he said my filter was the worst he'd ever seen. He and his crew did further inspection to check for dirt and any water in the air filter assembly, blew everything out, put in a new, heavy-duty filter and I was good to go. Including tax, I was out the door for around $50! Yeah, my jaw hit the ground and a day later I'm still floored. Mike is my new hero and I just wanted everyone in Escanaba to know about my experience. So if your transmission is needing some work, I can guarantee that you'll get an honest assessment and a fair price from Mike. That's just the kind of guy he is. Why would you go anywhere else??
Service was done in a very timely fashion. Mike knows how to get it done right. Very reasonable price too. Highly recommend going here for all your transmission issues.
I broke the reverse band in my plow truck second snow of the plow season, Mike put in a brand new transmission, with a 3 year 100K warranty good nation wide, it is OK i have a plow on it too.He had me on the road in 9 days at a fair price. No one else could touch it for 3 weeks. Mike made the time to get me on the road so I could plow all my customers. I will do business with him again, fair' honest guy.
A good man runs this shop. I needed a part and noone in town had it and half of the couldn't even order it. I called and asked of they had one and he's yep we sure do, but we usually put in the parts we sell. But he had mercy on me and sold me the part..I really appreciated that.
Got my Truck F350 4x4 in for service on Monday called the next day with Estimate was back on the road by Friday. Parts and service very reasonable priced
We came from Pennsylvania to Escanaba Michigan to visit good friends. We had some transmission issues once there. Called several transmission garages, no one was willing to help us considering our vehicle is a Honda pilot. Mike was nice and willing to take on the job as himself & other's dont typically like dealing with foreign vehicles. We needed a new transmission, Mike was willing to rebuild one but considering the time it would of took we didn't have. So he called around found us a rebuilt took 2 days to get there & saved us $1,000. since already rebuilt. Also came with a awesome warranty, where we could use any where in the country needed. He stated he needed a day to put it in, ran into minor complications didnt have new filter my vehicle needed. So had to order part on Friday and wait until Saturday to finish up. He held up to his word & worked on his day off to finish it so we could get home. During our 17 hour drive home we ran into some issues transmission fluid leaked out all over my vehicle & close to home temperature light came on and transmission started slipping all over again. Thank the lord we made it home safely. I contacted Mike the following day, explained what happened. He directed me to take it to a shop run a diagnostic to find out what happen first before referring to warranty. The problem was caused by the manufacturer, a defect in the transmission. Thank goodness for that warranty Mike offered us cause now they will be sending another transmission to replace the defective one. I then called Mike to update him on the results of why what happen to us did. Both him & us now have a peace of mind and glad to know it wasn't anything he did wrong. So with all that said. Thank you Mike & crew for all the hard work & dedication you put into our vehicle to get us home. Not knowing us, not local and knowing he will probably never see us again and still helped us and kept his word. Even worked on his day off, this man is a generous individual. We thank him for everything & apologize to his wife for keeping him at work on his day off.
Amazing owner. Went out of his way to help me. Diagnosed transmission on the lift and sent me on my way saying it was ok. Charged me nothing. I will bring any vehicle back. People like this are hard to find.
Mike did a great job on my transmission, and tune up!!!! Thank you for your honesty and hard work. Will recommend anyone going to his shop. He test drives before and after. Mike had quoted me a price and in the long run lowered the price!
Mike and his employees for the 3rd time now with 3 different vehicles have gone above and beyond. Set up an appointment to have the transmission rebuilt and that day I had been notified of a family emergency out of state. Once the transmission was done he gave my car a once over inspection noticed I had a bad break line and the fuel lines were leaking. Called me to let me know what he found so I had him fix the other issues before my 1600 mile trip. Transmissions and More always goes above and beyond in my book!
Car broke down while going through the area, stopped by him, and they set aside what they were doing and fixed my problem right away. Turned out to be an easy enough fix, but he took it for a drive himself after, and then didn't charge me anything for the help. Even showed me what was wrong and how to fix it myself next time.
Mike is always honest and reasonably priced. He has told me when my husband can fix things, when another shop would be a better option, and when things can wait to be fixed. Also, as a woman, I appreciate that he never takes advantage of my lack of knowledge or makes me feel silly. Really great shop.
Can not Thank the guys at Transmissions and More for all their help. Had car problems as we entered Escanaba and took it to their shop. They spent almost 2 hours trying to diagnose the problem. We were headed to Mayo in Rochester, Minnesota for an appointment in the am. The guys tried everything they could. And took the time out of their day to help.
