These people are great. I was working in the area and my car caught on fire. They told me they’d be able to look at it Monday and they had her done and fixed up by Monday. Excellent service and explained to me where things went wrong.

They are scam artists they said they could tow me home and winched me in the air only to tell me they cannot take me all the way home to niles mi from dowgiac mi and when I asked them if they can put my car down so I could call a tow company who can they said yes but if I don’t pay them the 180$ for winching me out that he has to impound the car so I paid him 180$ to winch me out. I called Trues in dowgiac mi and he charged me 170$ to tow me from dowgiac mi to niles mi ! Go to Trues in dowgiac mi!
Barry's Automotive towed my boat that blew a wheel bearing and left me stranded on the side of the highway. Barry stepped in and helped me when no other tow service would take my business. He was quick, efficient, and transported my boat safely to its destination. I will certainly contact this company in the future if I am ever in need of a tow or automotive work.
I was involved in a hit and run during the blizzard of '22. I was stuck on the side of the road and a large red pickup truck rear ended me and took off. Barry's guys came to tow my car for me. They were fast, professional, and oddly enough, super nice. They towed my now totaled car to their lot and helped me get set up in a motel so I wouldn't be freezing. This is after someone hit their tow truck while they were getting my car pulled out AND after the guys helped save a man's life that was involved in another collision about 50 yards from where I was at. I hope to not need a tow service again, but if I do, I'm calling Barry's.
I have used Barry's twice for towing and both times the experience was excellent. They show up on time and drop the car off with no hassle. Last night they had to retrieve my son's car and it was in a very difficult spot. I highly recommend Barry's.

Called Barry because my key fob wouldn't unlock my car downtown and had no way to unlock the car to get in. Barry was there within 5 minutes and I was in my car in less than 10. Quick, helpful, overall a great easy experience.
Great guy. He helped my wife last year during the snowstorm for free. He was very friendly and even made sure she got to a hotel safely. Really appreciate his kindness.
Barry has had my vehicle for almost 2 years, they botched the warranty work, have been absolutely rude every time I called for information regarding my vehicle. I have been furnished absolutely no paperwork regarding work done to my vehicle, at this point my vehicle has the motor ripped completely out and barry refuses to call me with any updates regarding my vehicle.
Any time I am able to contact him I get excuses of " call me next week "
I would not EVER bring your vehicle to this joke of a mechanic.
I have been more than patient with this man and even tried to put down money on the work to be done in good faith. Barry has left the country at least 3 times in the course of this ordeal and yet his staff still knows NOTHING about my vehicle, and I am left with no updates.

I am a big fan of Barry’s Automotive Repair in Dowagiac, Michigan. They are very knowledgeable and go over and beyond to be helpful and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. This is a family owned business but they are better than many high end companies. I do not usually write recommendations but I did not hesitate writing this one! You won’t be disappointed!
I was vacationing in the area with my family, including 6 kids under the age of six, and 200 miles away from home. Near the end of our trip my car wouldn't start. I called AAA and Shannon from Barry's Auto came out to our cottage located in a very rural area and gave me a quick jump. The next day it happened again, but for whatever reason my AAA request this time was stuck in their queue. I called Barry's and said I would pay them for the jump since we had to go home the next day and couldn't wait any longer fir AAA to respond. Shannon came back out, jumped my car. I realized that I probably needed a new battery so drove it over to Barry's shop where they quickly replaced my battery so I would have no problem getting my family home. Barry, Jr contacted AAA and worked it out so i wouldnt have to pay for the jump. Chatted with Anthony while they worked on my car. They were all very nice and knowledgeable. Barry, Sr has a great shop and group of guys. Just wish they were closer to my home as I would then use them for all my car repairs. Thanks guys. You saved my family vacation!
I called looking for a new tire to replace one that had gone flat. They didn't have one on hand, but could get one in the morning. Then, they asked if the car was drive able. When I said yes, they said to bring it in and they would see if it could be patched. They were short-staffed but still worked me in. My tire was fixed, and I was on the road again in under half an hour. In the meantime, my granddaughter was able to play with all of the car related toys. Very friendly and helpful service. I'll definitely be coming back.
Barry’s auto services is more than a repair shop. They care about their customers and go out of there way to be helpful, knowledgeable and friendly! I was able to have interaction with Barry Sr and Barry Jr. Someone was stranded in the area due to a car accident. Barry’s went out of their way to ensure the customer was safe and comfortable while he was in their shop! True local, family owned business. Highly recommend their services
I brought my truck in when they opened, and got it back the same day. I had some front end work done on it. They did the job well, and at a reasonable price. I will definitely be going back again.
I have been going to Barry for 16 years now. There amazing people and will help you out no matter what time of night or day. Barry Paul and boo has came to my rescue at 430 am on my way to work they have pulled us out of ditches towed my cars and just been all around helpful. In the 16 years I have been going to him I only had one problem which was grease was on my steering wheel cover and it was replaced with in a few minutes so if you have any issues or need any car help I highly recommend barrys automotive there the best around
I just never realized how professional a auto repair shop could be with its customers and all aspects of my automobile needs. Barry’s Automotive service has completely surpassed my expectations for which I am greatly appreciative for me and my elderly father. My 2005 Ford was serviced there, and after changing one spark plug, the mechanic gave up. The spark plug he changed broke, and the mechanic acted as if he had no clue how to extract the plug from the cylinder. They ordered the extraction tool kit which took two days to come to their shop. In the process of this, my fuel filter was supposed to be changed and wasn't. They also broke clips on my fuel line. I had Ford look at the truck, and Ford put a new fuel filter on for me FREE due to my story about this awful automotive place. The place didn't offer me any help when my complaint was reported to BARRY, so please disregard their post if they respond to my complaint.
Such amazingly sweet men who were working today, my mother and I had her car break down right in front of Barry’s, due to a faulty fuel sensor. And they helped us free of charge, so glad we were able to meet them today. Will definitely be recommending people to them for now on! Thanks again guys! You rock :)
I've been taking my vehicles to Barry off and on for years. He's always taken care of my vehicle. I had no heat, he fixed it for free in the middle of winter. I needed a shifter for my truck and couldn't find one anywhere, he gave me one that he had here. I needed new tires he got them for me at a fraction of the cost and gave me a discount on the alignment. When I had to be to work he picked my car up from there and brought it back to me. Would recommend.
I stopped by Barry's auto today after 5pm because my Air conditioner button was stuck and it was only a very hot 86 degrees out! Barry and his Staff were very courteous and fixed it right then and there and I didn't have to pay an arm and leg! Service was fast! I appreciated the Service! I would recommend Barry's to others! I pray that God would continue to bless his Staff and Business!
