I was recently towed with this company, and the experience was amazing. We’ve all been towed before and know how cruddy it can be, but Cranston and Son Auto was so fast and so friendly that I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. Being a woman alone on the side of the highway, I was of course a little nervous, but the technician was so professional, and immediately mentioned that he had kids my age; I felt safe with this company throughout the entire process. Incredibly fast, professional, accommodating, and personable. Another family member of mine recently needed a tow as well, and Cranston and Son helped him out with such kindness and understanding despite a pretty rough circumstance. 10/10 company, I would definitely recommend them to anyone at any time.
On 12/17/2025 my car died right on the intersection and I called AAA for roadside assistance. Their tow service came very quickly in minutes to assist me taking both my car and I to my mechanic and then place of residence across state lines some 45 miles to RI. The tow truck operator, Kempton, was amazing and an absolute gentleman - I am thankful for helping me in a truly awful situation that night. 5 stars to Kempton and their towing services, I recommend them highly.
AAA Technician 4433-Kempton J. was AWESOME! Had to call AAA to have our dually towed home. Kempton arrived timely, quickly assessed the vehicle and discussed my husband’s concerns of size and weight of our truck. Kempton addressed the concerns and said’If it doesn’t fit, I’ll go get a BIGGER truck!’ Kempton took RESPONSIBILITY to the Service Call through to the end. NONE of the ‘ain’t my job’ crap! Took a little finesse getting the truck loaded, but soon we were in route home. Cranston, THIS young man is a KEEPER! A genuine asset to your company that provides reassurance, awesome customer service, applies great skills and knowledge doing a job SAFELY! Thanks Kempton!
These guys got my truck in very quickly for multiple oil changes because I had a generator on board. They were very diligent and they found other issues and helps take care of it so I wouldn't break down on the road. Highly recommend! They were very personable knowledgeable and thorough.
Had a flat tire, went through AAA and the technician they sent was AMAZING. Thank you so much for getting to me quickly and treating me so well

My battery died, AAA sent technician Ismael from W.C. Cranston & Sons and I'm so glad they did. He showed up fast and worked quick to replace my 8 year old battery. I'm so impressed based on this experience, W.C. Cranston & Son's just got a new customer.
I had a great experience with this company and one of their technicians. We were at UMass Medical Center with my son when I got a flat tire on my truck, normally I would change it myself but given our circumstances I needed some help. AAA dispatched W.C. Cranston to assist, they contacted me within 10 minutes of my call. Their technician Juan was on site within 30 minutes and efficiently changed the tire. Juan was extremely amazing and I can't say enough great things about him and the company. Thank you so much!

They tried to pull the auto parts scam on me.
I told them exactly the issue , knew exactly the part needed , knew the cost of the part and its availability.
They tried charging me for three hours of labor to take apart the steering column.
Here is the thing. They didn't do any of that. I have the pics.
They tried telling me they had to buy a whole column from a junkyard for 600 bucks.
That it would take months to get the part since it was on back order and even still it was expensive.
I can buy the cylinder and two new blades for 150 and have it over nighted for free on Amazon.
So I paid them the 250 to get away from them and get my car out of their hands , called a tow truck , and waited till it was picked up and sent to a place that won't try to scam me.
Debating filing a small claims against them to deter them from trying to do this again.
The way they tried repeatedly to tell me fairy tales was impressive but super easy to see through.
Guys. Be better at crime.
tried to scam me for my whole car… terrible shop. go somewhere else especially if you have an antique. Tried telling me i needed a whole new engine and transmission simply due to oil leak & burnt transmission fluid. Didn’t even give me an explanation until I asked for one. Offered to clear my $125 bill for my title ….. they did this to my bestfriend too for her antique car, awful don’t go here!!!!!

Heres a good one. I had a driver hit and run me, totaled my vehicle and turned it into an accordion. Left me dead in water to get home at 8pm. They towed my car to this lizards facility. Granted, i had basic coverage on this car. I had already called around and got necessary info and pricing from my insurance and so on. Goober in the back told me im stuck paying the $400 towing fee… well the first price he gave me was $395.00 i explained how im broke and this situation was a real hit for me, even if i could just grab my stuff. With a smile he told me that hes had issues in the past and i couldnt do it. But he had a great deal! Hand him the title and $200 and he would call it square because everywhere else is just going to hit over the head with fees and hes basically doing me a favor. Lol. It was a 2013 toyota corolla le. So i played the game, went outside waited 5 mins and went back in. I gave him my offer, id pay him $200 get it out myself and call it square. He couldn’t unfortunately because now hes saying its a state regulated price and its locked. So i replied, what do i owe you, $375? And went to his computer and said… yup you owe $375.51. 🧐 I made sure to call the business that I originally wanted to help me and gave them the green light to pick the car up. Moral of the story, this business cares more about a dollar than the person paying. You just get the feeling when you walk out of there that these people talk about you as soon as you leave.
Moved to West Boylston 3 years ago. Needed to find a new repair garage. Chose Cranstons, now is my go to for all my car needs, honest and transparent, not to mention priced fairly, great people
Cranston & Son responded to a AAA call for a tire change after a picked up a huge piece of metal driving by a construction zone. The AAA information had them coming in 59 minutes. I decided to start changing my tire on my own. Driver arrived as I was getting the tire off the car (maybe 15 minutes after initiating service call). Friendly and took over for me.
The driver offered a non-AAA service of doing a permanent tire plug on site for $25. He then had the tire back on the car and me on my way in another 10 minutes. He saved me the time of getting a tire repair and the safety of having to NOT drive with a spare/donut on the vehicle.

Great repair shop… have used Cranston’s several times over the years. Very Professional and knowledgeable, they usually diagnose my issues before they even look at the vehicle.

My car died suddenly this evening. I contacted you by calling AAA to have it towed home. Ultimately I met two of your tow truck drivers who worked together to get my car out of its parking space and loaded onto your flatbed. I was unable to climb up into the tow truck and you called your "battery car" to drive me home.
All three men were polite, respectful, compassionate, and worked efficiently to get the job done.
I cannot thank you all enough for making a difficult situation better for me. I certainly will call you again in my need to get my car towed to the dealer in the next few days.
My wife and I have used this company for oil changes/tires/brakes and they are the best in the area. They are honest and terrific with communication. I can't say enough positive things about multiple experiences.
Picked up a nail in my tire while out and about. Stopped in here to get it plugged. Amazing service took me right in, plugged my tire and I was on my way in under an hour! Definitely will be returning for any future vehicle needs. Thank you!!
