Fresh car scratches from a towing job on 3/16. Took 5 days for the manager to respond with come by so I can see. Here are the pictures of the scratches, your attendant has the same ones. If you can’t see it here due to technical issues you can have a look at Yelp. Not mad about getting towed at all - this is a complaint about the carelessness with which your associate operated
******UPDATE: My insurance company called B&B towing to get the name of their insurance company for the claim, they refuse to give the info. I have to see one of the tow trucks and get a plate number so my insurance company can run the plate and get the info.
******** WHY NOT JUST GIVE THE INFO, LET THE INSURANCE COMPANIES HANDLE IT*******
I REPORTED THEM TO THE BBB and City hall
They towed my car parked in a handicap with a handicap placard on Monday damaged it when I called on Thursday of the same week when I noticed the damage they said there's nothing they can do. They had told me it was hard to tow and they had to use a dolly.. they only way this damage for on my car is by them towing. Let's see if the owner Mike really gives me a call back..
***** I WAS ALSO TOLD BY SOMERVILLE POLICE TO FILE A COMPLAINT SO IT GOES ON RECORD BY DIALING 311. I'm also filing it with the BBB. *****
B&B is filled with people who are incompetent my vehicle was towed illegally. From a handicap spot with a handicap sticker. And then I had to pay to retrieve my vehicle which they damaged. Now I am going to contact the better business bureau. THE WORST TOWING COMPANY.
Deserving of 0/5 stars if I could give it. My car was taken from a completely empty commercial parking lot on a Saturday night without any attempt to contact me so I could move it (which I happily would have done). When I arrived at the office to pay the ransom to redeem it, I was informed that they only accept cash despite a card reader being on the desk right in front of me. The woman behind the desk insisted she told me this over the phone when I called to ask if they had my car. This was a lie. She never said it. It was very late at night and B&B is in a deserted, industrial part of Cambridge. The nearest ATM was about a mile away and they did not care at all that my walking to it that late at night would not be safe. I asked for a lift and they said no. Thankfully, I was not killed getting them their cash. Even though my car was only held for about 30 minutes, I was still forced to pay a full day's rate for impounding it. In summary, the heartless people who work here are thieves. My only comfort is knowing that in life what goes around comes around.
B&B towing has no respect for the law and the property of others. They unlawfully towed my car while I was parked in a residential area with a parking pass adhered to my rear view mirror. I called B&B towing and the receptionist confirmed that they in fact had my car in their possession and that there was a valid pass adhered to the mirror. Despite acknowledging that they had unlawfully towed my vehicle, they refused to return it. I had to call the police and threaten legal action. The drivers were rude and unapologetic. The city of Cambridge needs to take action and contract with a different towing company that has respect for their residents.
The worst people to deal with ! They just wrongfully stole my friends car ! They claimed they didn’t see the parking pass on there! We called them to bring it back since it was STOLEN. The receptionist did admit it was the drivers fault for not checking. They said my friend had to go pick it up! Insane! They were disrespectful and unapologetic. They only brought it back because we called the police. The city needs to end the contract with these money hungry thugs!
Was informed when I got there that they only took cash…. I asked why they have a card reader if they only take cash. The receptionist says it’s “only for cops”. Okay? I then asked if they had an ATM, of course they did not (that would make too much sense!) She told me to drive to the Fresh Pond Mall and use an ATM there. How am I supposed to drive when you HAVE MY CAR? Not having an ATM allows them to rack up charges as not everyone is able to come right back with cash… skeevy icky and low.
I was told I was towed for not having a pass in my dashboard and they made a mistake and took a picture of my car before they towed it with the pass in the windshield like idiots then when I got to the location I asked the man in the office what was my car towed for and he said for not having a pass in the windshield and when I asked for the pictures of my car the pass been moved I have a full video of the clear lies it’s so laughable
1st photo before they towed it
2nd photo when it in their lot and realize they had to move the sign to justify the tow
My car was stored here for maybe 5 hours total. They still charged me $35 for storing for one day. This is outrageous. The long-haired dachshund is in the office just to prevent everyone from freaking out. What is the need for $35 from each customer? Are you really hurting for more puppy chow?
The place is out there to scam you and maximise the legal amount of money you need to give them. Was charged $132 + $35 storage fees + fuel costs, and had to pay in cash. They didn’t even have an ATM. Horrible.
Just towed me for parking in front of a restaurant for a couple minutes to doordash. Asked if I can pay to take it off so I can finish my order and they rolled the window up and drove off.
Towed my car while I was just there to move it yet they were still adamant about moving it. Tow fee is unnecessarily expensive and cash only. Very predatory. People should feel ashamed working for them.
They towed my car from the building that I lived in and refused to give who called. They lied about the management company calling them and it cost me 175 dollars for a vehicle that was parked legally in my residence
Canal street I have been pulling down here and grabbing my coffee for almost 15 years at dunkin 5 minutes from the time I paid and walked back to my car receipts to match and this man had my car up on a town truck 100$ cash he says to take it off or 250 if I give him a hard time and he brings it to the lot????? I’ve worked in Kendall square for 15 years who are you???? Not a good look for your company and the area you allegedly patrol. What company does this and talks like this its extortion.
If I could give zero, I would do that. I admit that it's my fault to park next to a church where I am not supposed to. But they charged me $180 for that. I immediately got my car and they still charged me $35 for storage. It's outrageous and they should be ashamed of themselves by ruining people's day and robbing people's money. I can't believe city of Cambridge contracts with them and it's a disgrace.
Left my car in the corner of a lot for 30 minutes to go a block away with my baby. They towed my car. Would have to had seen me walk away with the baby to know I wasn’t shopping. I know I wasn’t supposed to but the lots was less than half full and if difficult to solo parent. Dicks
Criminals who won’t be in business for long . I remember when I first heard the slogan crime pays. And it can for a while,
But you all best believe it all catches up ! They towed my car but the property manager they said called , said they NEVER CALLED and it’s not their property ! This type of company gets off on bullying little people it’s a matter of time before you step on the wrong one and get rightfully sued !
Nobody likes to have their car towed. But the prices weren't exorbitant and the guy at the desk was very pleasant in having us pay and getting our car back to us
Lack of respect and consideration for people, a new sign next to a restaurant and B&B just waiting in the wings. I went in and out of the restaurant with bags of food to be delivered and asked the driver to release the car and I would pay the retention amount but he completely insensitive ignored me. May the same kindness befall your company! Not long ago they were in the newspaper lamenting the closure of a unit and reporting on its drama. But that's what you get when you only think about your own navel.
Parked my car at the lot of a shopping mall. Went to the corner to pick up an order and my car was towed within 5 mins. I do believe in karma. You guys are a bunch of car thieves, rude mean trash. Asking for ridiculous amount of money and hang up on people. Don’t know even the basic manner of how to talk to people. I feel very sorry and sad for you guys. Never imagined I’d have to deal with people like them in my life. I wish you and your family “good” luck and that you will be dealt with by people similar to yourselves eventually. Good luck.
My wife got a pothole flat. I called them, agreed a price, and they were there in less than 30 minutes. Polite and sympathetic to my wife. Towed the car to our mechanic. Swift, careful and polite: you can't ask for more.
Contrary to all the other reviews. I actually thought they were very nice people who were just doing their job. I parked illegally and they towed my car. I went there early to pick my car up they let me sit in their office while I waited for my Uber to get cash and we’re all so polite to me!
One of the worst experiences with another human that I've ever had in my entire life. My two friends and I reached our car as it was being hooked up. The driver told us $100 cash to get the car back. My two friends went to find an ATM, and I stayed with the car. But the driver continued ratcheting up the wheels & setting up to leave. When I asked him to please being unhooking it since they were coming back, he said "I told them $100 cash, and I don't have it in my hand. They went in the opposite direction of the ATM. I'm taking the car." I asked him why he didn't tell us where the ATM was when they ran off to find one. He said "not my problem." Immediately, I could tell I was dealing with a person who gets off on having power over others. The infinite power of being a cruel tow truck driver. Wow, I'm shaking in my boots.
Then, when my friends came back with the cash, I asked "are you sure we have to pay you?" For context, I've come to my car while it was being towed before, and the tower has never asked for money, so I wanted to understand why we had to pay now. The driver turns around and says "fine, you don't want to pay?", gives us our $100 back, and starts driving away WHILE WE ARE STANDING IN FRONT OF HIS TRUCK. We run beside his truck, with his door open, begging him to take our money. He continues to be extremely rude and aggressive, saying "no, no, if you don't want to give me the money, then I can't give you your car. Get away from my car." We are literally BEGGING him to give us the car now, holding the $100 cash out to him. We are three girls in our early 20s, all under 5' 4", on the verge of tears asking him to take our money and give the car back. Nothing. He drives away.
When we reached B&B towing company, the woman at the front desk listens to our complaints and tells us "I'm so sorry guys. That shouldn't have happened. I know exactly which driver you're talking about." She tells us she'll leave a message for the owner, and that he would make sure we were reimbursed.
After not receiving a call the next day, we call the company back. Can you guess what happens then? Spoiler: THE OWNER DENIES EVERYTHING. Says his secretary didn't leave any message for him, that the driver that took our car has never had complaints against him. He claimed we were making everything up.
Upon perusing the other Google reviews, it's clear the owner was so full of garbage I'm surprised the county hasn't taken him to the dump. Dozens of other reviews describing exactly the same experience as we had. If you are in need of a towing company, I'd recommend choosing literally anybody over the horrible people who run this godforsaken company.
Even if you are already standing next to your car, they will still tow your car. I got off the car to take some photos, and the distance was less than 5 meters, this person started his "work" After I immediately stopped and inquired, he mentioned that he had already lifted the car and if I wanted to put it down, I would have to pay $100. Wow, in just one minute, a simple job you put down can earn $100. It's really a great job. During the negotiation process, the driver showed rudeness, spoke harshly, and was extremely impolite to the woman. He attempted to start the vehicle while people were still nearby. And this driver has racial discrimination. He turned a blind eye to other people's vehicles, while I was already standing next to them and he still had to operate my car. The sign did not show what he called a time limit, and I also had what the apartment mentioned: 'You can briefly park the vehicle in that position'. Today's story is like a person coming over without a reason and saying, 'Open your wallet, I will take $100 out of it now.'
It can only be said that the deity is above, it looks at everyone.
Parked under 2 hours visiting a friend after working in that area(construction)inside an apartment lot without numbered spots, got towed since I didn’t use the “visitors” sign. Was mad at first but it is what it is, they have good clean tow trucks and I assume they wouldn’t try to hurt a brand new car with low mileage. Had to walk to the atm and to their shop, got my car same day with no hassle. 2.7 stars for remaining professional, could be better if it wasn’t just cash and cause I had the money on my card. I also think fees overly priced since I wasn’t parked overnight or all day.. good luck
Updated response to owner: I BEG you to please provide a picture or whatever this proof you have is of pulling our car out of a handicap spot. Beyond that, if people don’t want to believe me, the other reviews for your company speak for themselves. We’ll be sending our video of you pulling our car out of our reserved spot to the police. Be better people.
This company will make an attempt to scam you out of money, and I just want to make sure any companies that employ them know that. We are definitely not the first people this happened to based on reviews, but we had our car towed out of our reserved spot that we pay for at our apartment complex. B&B took it on accident (which is what they admitted to when they were first contacted), but when our leasing office called, B&B told them we were parked in a handicap spot and that’s why they took our car. Our leasing office was able to provide proof that we were not in a handicap spot, but B&B refused to bring our car back to us anyways and still made an attempt at charging us to release our car that they incorrectly took. They did end up releasing our car without payment, but only after the aggressive attempt to scam us and then forcing us to come get it ourselves. We also got the police involved after they refused to return our car, and they lied to them about us being in a handicap spot as well. I’m really not the type of person to leave a bad review, and accidents happen all the time. I wouldn’t have been upset at all if they just returned our car in the first place. Just wanted to note this for anyone considering using this company that they clearly strive to steal money.
I am going to tell you my story. It was 11:00pm I had to move my car because following day it was cleaning day in front of my house. So I took my car and drove around the my book to find a place, not even one single place. I drove like for one hour even around 1 - 2 miles away and the same. Until I found a place, that had a temporal no parking between 8am and 4pm on 14th. I check my clock to confirm the day and it was 14th at night. So I thought it was fine to park. But guess what!!... It was 12:02, I did not realized I had been looking for parking place for more than one hour, beginning the 13th at night and finishing 14th in the morning in the rush I did not realized, it was after midnight so it was 14th in the morning not 14th at night!! Of course next day, my car was not there any more, it would be great to receive any call, SMS or email when your car is towed, here is a safe place, but still, I mean it was my first time. Summary of my Story... 100 dollars towing and 25 dollar a ticket of the police. 125 to continue my life. The Towing place was okay, fast service. I was mad and sad for my stupidity, but they just did their job. Remember it is 35 dollars for additional day. So pick up your car as soon as possible to avoid additional costs. If a recommend them? It is not nobody's decision :)
