What clients say about Wilbraham Disposal and Recycling Center in Wilbraham Township (MA)
A recycling center that doesn’t accept construction waste, fence panels or doors and many other items. Why? You’d think the town and state would want people to dispose of trash and hazardous waste properly but make it impossible. Need to get rid of hazardous waste? You will have to drive to Westfield and pay. No wonder people are dumping everywhere.
The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the people working there are friendly.
The place is open when the town hall is not. The only number for the place is town hall which obviously won't answer when they are closed. You can only get a sticker to dump there from town hall, which if it is closed, you wasted a trip. On top of that a sticker costs $130, not for a year, but for their sticker cycle. So you have to make sure you get a sticker at the right time. Terrible system.
And there's no way to know any of this if it is a time when the town hall is closed but the facility is open, because it's not on their website and there is no one to call.
Even though they are open later than most waste management places, it's not worth it.
although the decorations are gone, the people who created the great work of "upcycled " art are there and always pleasant. Great dump, maybe the best dump i have ever been to,.
I am so sad to see that all of the recycled creations have been removed from the center. Thus reuse of materials into art is the epitome of recycling. I understand that the removal was due to maintenance issues but I think that much of the art could have been salvaged. A once boring landfill came to life with imagination of a few employees. Very sad!!!!!!
