I had an incident where my vehicle was towed to this auto shop under circumstances that raised serious concerns about professionalism and ethics.
The tow truck driver refused to discuss any reasonable alternatives, including allowing me to pay a $50 service fee for after-hours access. I explained clearly that missing even one day of work, combined with arranging transportation from over three hours away, would cost me far more than that fee. Instead of engaging, he spoke down to me and insisted it would be “cheaper” to retrieve my vehicle the next day, completely ignoring the real-world impact on my livelihood.
After towing my vehicle, the driver dropped me off at a random gas station with no transportation and no viable way to resolve the situation until the next business day. As a long-distance traveler working out of town, this left me effectively stranded.
The following morning (Sunday), I attempted to contact the company three separate times, fully prepared to pay to retrieve my vehicle. On the third call, someone answered the phone claiming it was Domino’s Pizza and asked what I wanted. I confirmed the number and had another person call independently, they received no answer. At that point, the situation no longer felt like a mistake or prank, but something deeply unprofessional and suspect.
When I arrived in person on Monday, I calmly mentioned to the owner that their handling of the situation had cost me nearly a thousand dollars in lost pay. He went silent and did not respond. Only then was the storage fee waived. An attempt to mitigate the situation after the fact, not resolve it when it mattered.
What concerns me most is how easily this setup could harm someone with fewer resources. As someone traveling for work, I was able to absorb the financial hit. Many others would not be. A system like this appears designed to exploit long-distance travelers and people who may not be able to retrieve their vehicles quickly or afford the cascading costs.
I’m sharing this experience so others can make informed decisions. Based on what I experienced, this operation feels predatory, unprofessional, and structured in a way that invites abuse, especially when paired with local enforcement.
My car broke down and was totally screwed! Jeff came to my rescue with the tow and within a couple days Tom had my car up and running!!! I was treated very well and the repairs were priced well too. This is truly a good garage to have work done! Wonderful experience!!!! A+

Not only is the receptionist extremely rude and condescending. But they can't even let you go into a car you own to get your stuff because apparently they can't have any staff actually at the building during hours of operation to let you into your car which is ridiculous.
Thank God my cars don’t brake a lot but when the need tow services nobody is faster than Jeff and Jamie at the Koch’s. The best, the fastest the kindest service.
I had my 96'Camaro in for a diagnostic issue. They diagnose it for a very high price to fix, which we knew it would be. We decided not to fix it and have it towed back home. He waived the diagnostic fee and just charged for the tow. Thank you so much Jeff & Kevin.
I was in an auto accident and this company was notified to pick up the vehicle. I called him after the weekend and the owner was very easy to deal with. He had my car sent down to a place closer to my home and forwarded all the insurance paperwork to the new body shop. Everything was done quickly, efficiently, and professionally. I have absolutely no complaints.
If your looking for an honest mechanic shop locally this is definitely it. They've always since we started using them have been upfront and honest when explaining what is or isn't wrong, or what should or shouldn't be done. Also as a woman I don't feel talked down too or "man-splained" anything as well which I've unfortunately had happen when it came to some other shops I've used before. They also even though busy still have a quick turn around time of getting what you need fixed done which is great! I like that they are very personable nice people there, and good at contacting you to keep you in the loop when they have your vehicle. I definitely will be recommending them to anyone that needs mechanic services going forward.
Most trustworthy mechanic shop in Greenfield/Franklin county. They explain what they're doing, have reasonable prices and will check in with you before doing any expensive work. They even come in under estimate sometimes. It's clear they're trying to do right by you. After having some unfortunate experiences with other mechanics in the area, I've found the shop I'll keep coming back to.
I had a major repair needed and they worked hard to soften the blow. They explained everything and made sure I understood the repair.
They will have me as a long term customer.
I love these guys they have kept my family safe forever. they are honest, wont fix what doesn't need to be fix even when I want a new catalytic converter. wont charge me for fixing things I didnt ask them to fix like my door. such a rare expierience I feel blessed to have found them
Good people. I had a charging issue with my car and got my alternator replaced at a great price. They didn't have time to check my brakes at that time like I had hoped but I brought it back and they fixed it no charge. Awesome.
Koch's are an incredible group of folks. We were traveling thru with a bus and trailer with 19 folks heading to do a church mission project. Our bus broke down late night and not only did Koch's safely got us off the road, they got us to our destination and went above and beyond to get us back on the road. If we were closer, they would have all my vehicle maintenance and service.
I appreciate Koch’s for turning a stressful situation around. Alex came to tow the car and was extremely helpful, understanding and fixed the problem quickly. He charged a very fair price compared to AAA and also let me know I can still potentially be covered by insurance. Thank you so much!
What impressed me most was the owners supportive and communicative attitude as I was stranded in the middle of an intersection after my CV axle let go of my transmission, was not only there within ten minutes, got the car on the bed and gave me a lift to the dealership and whole ordeal was over in 20 minutes. Jeff was kind and i felt taken care of as I'm also post-surgery and still on crutches, could've been an awful night, but awfully glad he was there with his kind words and professionalism
Terrible service! They apparently have no regard for vehicle damage. Completely destroyed the paint and plastic on the front bumper cover of my BMW when loading it. Would have taken mere seconds to properly chock up the wheels to avoid scraping when loading the car to avoid damage. If they did this to a $50k car with no regard, what will they do to yours?
Been going her since I owned a car. My dad recommended him. Fair priced and high quality work. They are always very busy so plan ahead if you can. Mr. Koch is one of the most respectful persons I've ever met.

A friend of mine was leaving a domestic abuse situation and had a broken car. As a single mother she desperately needed a car. And it needed to be towed to a repair shop.
After calling a few shops, nobody had an opening before the weekend. Since I was planning to use Koch's for the tow anyway, I went and explained the situation.
Despite having a full book for the day, they got it towed and repaired in a matter of a few hours. They even did a safety inspection and filled the fluids. The price was more than reasonable, it was great.
This might sound corny, but these kinds of interactions fill me with hope. There are still good people, who go out of their way to help a stranger in need.
