What a beautiful drive up and then you can see 3 states on a clear day. Perfect picnic spot. Historic War Memorial that is just gorgeous inside. Lights up at night.

The top of the mountain has a tower which offers great views of the surrounding particularly during the fall. The drive up to the top of the mountain is quite picturesque although there are only limited parking spots available. There are also some good hikes to the top.

Mount Greylock is the highest point in Massachusetts. There is a memorial tower located at the top where families can explore with grassy area for picnics overlooking Williamstown. Views are awesome.

Great, slow mountain road to the summit beautiful views you can see five states.

Had a gorgeous drive up the mountain with beautiful foliage all the way up. We were hoping to get a hot drink once we reached the summit, but unfortunately, the lodge was closed.

Last week, we decided to climb Mount Greylock, which is the highest peak in Massachusetts. It is a truly amazing mountain with several trails to choose from, and you can even drive your car up. We chose to begin at the Sperry Road Trail Head, where parking is available right at the beginning of the trail. If the parking area is full, you can park in the overflow area on the other side of the road, and the parking is free. Once we started on that trail, we hiked about 0.3 miles and then took the connecting Hopper Trail. After about a mile, we took the Overlook Trail on the left to reach the top. It was a gradual ascent to the summit, and it is a loop trail. We took the Hopper Trail down, and the entire hike took approximately three hours, including several stops to admire the beauty, spot deer, and take plenty of pictures. At the top, there is a Veteran War Memorial Tower, a lodge, a store, and restrooms. Everything is wheelchair accessible, except for going up the tower. If you choose to climb the tower, there are approximately 84 steps, and you can enjoy a beautiful 360-degree view that extends at least 90 miles on a clear day. It is definitely a sight to behold. I plan to return and explore other trails in the future.

Great place to do some walking and hiking. The view from the top of the tower is worth the stop. Highly recommend.

Mount Greylock is absolutely breathtaking! The drive up to the summit is scenic, with plenty of lookout points to stop and soak in the views. Once at the top, the panorama of the Berkshires is stunning — especially on a clear day when you can see for miles. The trails are well-marked and offer something for everyone, from easy walks to more challenging hikes. The War Memorial Tower adds a beautiful historic touch, and Bascom Lodge is a cozy spot to rest or grab a bite with a view. It’s peaceful, refreshing, and a perfect place to reconnect with nature. Whether you’re hiking, picnicking, or just enjoying the drive, Mount Greylock is one of Massachusetts’ true gems!

Definitely worth the drive. Large expansive vistas take your breath away. There is a monument at the summit which has a winding staircase to the top.

I’ll admit..I’m spoiled. I spent time in NC/SC so I spent numerous trips up and down Mt Mitchell which is the highest peak east of the Mississippi. Went up on a Tuesday morning and pretty much had the place to myself, also didn’t help that it was 95° at 10am…it’s not a bad place to visit and I’m sure it’s phenomenal in the fall…but I didn’t see what all the hype was about. (Again..Mt Mitchell).

Stunning views up top. Drive slow, they have sharp curves here and there. Plenty of parking at the top. There are some side pull-offs to park for a quick picture of the landscape. Just beautiful.

This is one of my favorite mountains to hike. It’s fairly close to me within two hours or so. I’ve hike this mountain 4 times. This year was my first year having snow on the ground so it was very interesting. I definitely recommend hiking. This mountain view from the top are lovely if you’re able to catch it on a clear day. I’ve been there on a clear day too hazy days in a snowy day. When the road is open and the hot is open, you are able to get food. Use the bathroom things of that nature. The stuff there is very friendly.

Great for hiking in the summer and excellent to skin and ski in the winter. Skin up via Bellows South and ski down the historic Thunderbolt ski trail.

Beautiful mountain with gorgeous views! Great place to catch sunset or sunrise! Nice trails. It's definitely worth coming and spending some time with friends and family! You can go on a very top veterans war memorial tower and see beautiful views from above.

On October 15th my wife and I took a day trip ride to Adams MA. area from CT. We originally set off to catch some nice fall colors in the Berkshires. Well the day itself was cloudy and very windy and it seemed to further north we went the less the vibrant colors we were looking for were. We made a few stops along the ride and then inquired at a local restaurant where can we go to see some colors? The person I was talking with was very nice and spent time trying tom direct me somewhere to see colorful trees. She then said Mt. Greylock, is a wonderful spot to see foliage, but it may be busy there, but with the weather the way it was she said you may luck out. Man o man was she right, we did luck out, the trees were mot all that spectacular but on the way up the mountain the temperature dropped from 43 down to 36 and as we approached the top all the trees were coated with a frosty combination of frost and a light snow. offering a great opportunity to take some photos. My wife has a bad ankle so she didn't want to chance slipping and hurting it more, so I ascended to the Memorial tower and walked up the stone then turns to a spiral staircase to the top. What a view with the new frosty coating it was great. as we departed Adams., MA. on our way back home the cloudy then sunny skies opened up with a quick blast of rain, we were on the edge of this weather front and were then treated to a spectacular double rainbow. I followed the rainbow til we got close to where we were going to get on the highway home a caught another view of the rainbow over the highway. The colors were the most vibrant I had ever seen. Great day trip, parking can be tough at the top of the mountain. There are many spots but I imagine on a very nice day it would be maxed out.

Beautiful and historic, a land rich with folklore and legends. The trails are vast, the views are beautiful. And the ghosts that linger between the trees don't bother you much.

Mount Greylock, topped by the 93-foot-tall Massachusetts Veterans War Memorial Tower, is Massachusetts's tallest point. The views from the top are almost endless. In places, the Appalachian Trail crosses the road to the top, and some visitors hike a section of the trail to the top. The endless sea of colorful foliage can be beautiful in the early autumn.

what a WONDERFUL place. it was very clean, the summit was beautiful, views from EVERYWHERE. did a one hour hike since i got there a little late but it was so beautiful and honestly a little difficult! went on a weekday and there was still a good amount of people there. thankfully there was fresh water because the water bottle i had was running low. going to the top of the tower was easy but it did feel a little claustrophobic, the place is quite small but still worth seeing the view from up there!

Definitely a beautiful place to hike .I found the aircraft parts and when I almost get to summit which is on the Bernard Farm trail if you follow it from the all trails app. It is a steep but durable hike. I followed the Bernard Farm trail and then hopped on the Appalachian Trail which took me all the way up to the top where the monument was. Just before you reach the monument it will be a little bit steep in a section that will be a little bit of a challenge but definitely loved the workout. The Rocks were very slippery and covered with leaves. It definitely was a bit chillier at the top so please dress warm and be prepared.

Highest point in connecticut up top at the summit of Mount Greylock. They have made a nice monument out there, and the view of mountains from the summit is really nice. Entry is free, and the summit is a short drive . There are hiking trails to reach the top as well. Ample parking is available at the summit. The monument has 90 steps to climb up top, and views from the top are also good and knowledgeable around which side which mountain ranges. You can take a short walk around the monument back to the parking to see the beauty of the views around.

The hike up was wonderful; luckily we had excellent weather. Bellows Pipe up and Gould Trail back but it was not difficult and if you enjoy getting out there, breathing fresh air and getting your heart rate up, we highly recommend. Brought sandwiches and some water to have a nice picnic at the top. Normally, I wear knee braces and I didn’t even have to wear them. So with that being said, give it a go. You will not regret it.

Climbing the war veterans tower is the highlight of the visit. Views from the tower are quite amazing. Spending time exploring the summit is also well worth it (definitely visit small pond if you hike around the summit). I have hiked an Overlook trail around the summit but despite the name, viewpoints were quite limited comparing to summit views. I actually like quite a bit more the trail at Nose trailhead with expansive meadow views. Picking sunny weather for a visit is much preferred.

Summary: Amazing hike and spectacular views! Trails mostly dry, some steep parts, bugs in the lower elevation, well marked. The hike took us 3 hrs 25 min not including stops and I clocked it at almost 6.7 miles. What a gorgeous day for a hike! (4.21.23) - we could see the 5 states from the summit! Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Vermont. Our Hike: - Parking: We parked at the lot on Gould Road next to Chenail Crofts. The parking lot is small, but we were fortunate to get a spot. - Route: We took the Bellows Pipe trail on our ascent and descended on the Gould Trail. I clocked us at 6.7 miles and it took 3 hrs 25 minutes without stops. With stops we were at 4 1/2 hours. - Conditions: The weather was perfect, sunny with a slight breeze. For the most part the trails were dry. There were a few areas that were muddy, but nothing we couldn’t walk through or easily navigate around. There were also a few trees down, but again, easy to navigate around or go over. And in the lower elevations, we had our share of bugs. - One issue to be aware of, especially on the way down (the Gould Trail) and when you are tired - there are a bunch of roots, rocks and small limbs to be aware of. One can easily trip over these when your legs are a bit tired. - Felt super accomplished, especially when you look back up at the summit and consider how far and high you have hiked.

Awesome hiking trails with good use of signage and paint markers. Trails are moderate to difficult, so be prepared with good shoes and layers as needed. Could probably use a better detail map rather than the current one to show all the trails and not just the main ones. The view from the summit is incredible, even on an overcast day. Stair tower at the top is a little cramped, but worth the view.

This is one of the best hiking trail in Massachusetts. The trail is scenic with lots of beautiful wild flowers, mushrooms, and the sound of a soothing brook along the way. And the summit has stunning views and a really cool war memorial that you can climb and see a breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding.

By far my favorite hike yet and most difficult..The trail was icy and snowy, but we trekked up there anyway, considering we did not have any crampons. Absolutely gorgeous hike..picturesque with the snow in the woods and on the AT..at the top...I literally gasped when I saw the view and just said Wow! I will most definitely do this hike again. Up and down was about 6 hours total and about 9.5 miles. This is taking into consideration all the ice.

This is a great place that offers a beautiful vistas of the landscapes of Northwestern MA and a great place to hangout and enjoy the wonders of nature. There is even a war memorial tower that offers a full 360 vista of the rollings hills that open to the public. On clear days you can see up to 100+ miles of the neighboring states. There is a road that takes visitors all the way to the summit. In addition, there is restaurant there as well. Parking is abundant. Enjoy!
