Peaceful beautiful serene place. Raised boardwalk trails and through the woods trails. Great place to clear your mind and take in the gorgeous view and breeze. A hidden gem. Surrounded by nature. My picture is from winter but it's lush green come summer

This park is lovely. however, IMPORTANT FOR VISITORS: ICE has recently been reported to be staking out the Accokeek Creek Marsh Boardwalk area in unmarked vehicles, preying on people of color who come here to fish the piers. STAY CONSCIOUS, stay informed!!!

Piscataway Park is a relatively secluded park with a variety of attractions. Some of these include hiking and walking trails, fishing, and visiting the colonial farm to see the animals. The park is generally quiet and never too crowded, though occasional programs are offered. I thought the animals seemed well cared for, and I especially liked that they all had names. I do not see this as a day trip rather an hour or 2 of walking and relaxing.

It's perfect for a relaxing day out. The trails are well-maintained, and the boardwalks are great for birdwatching. I even spotted a bald eagle when I was there! Don't miss the National Colonial Farm; it's so cool to see the heritage animals and learn about the area's history. Overall, I'd say it's a fantastic spot for a quiet picnic and a leisurely walk. The blend of nature and history makes it a really special place. I highly recommend it for a peaceful day trip.

A wonderful place to spend some quality time in nature. We took our four-year old and had so much fun walking the trails, enjoying the sunshine, and meeting some animals. We spread out a blanket near the water and stared up at the clouds for a while too. On our way out, we saw some ladies spinning wool that was harvested from the sheep at the park! This is something that the group does once a month, together, at the visitor center. Our little girl loved spinning the yarn (with help of course). The only thing that would make this place better is more animals :) The animals that were there were clearly well taken care of and loved. The park is very clean and well-maintained. Ample parking on a beautiful Saturday too. Keep up the great work!

Dog friendly and not too busy. Limited amounts of trails but lots of room. Nice clear lines to see the Potomac river

It was a good getaway for us. About an hour's drive from Arlington, VA. We went there on Monday so it wasn't crowded at all, only a few people from nearby neighborhoods walking their dogs. We walked around and enjoyed the view since it was peak fall season and the views of beautiful fall foliage was worth it even though there wasn't much activity there to do. The scenic drive to the park is all we were in for honestly. Also you get a nice view of the gigantic house of George Washington in Mount Vernon.

Piscataway Park is a hidden gem located along the Potomac River in Maryland, offering visitors a unique blend of natural beauty, historical significance, and recreational opportunities. The park's sprawling landscape includes lush forests, open meadows, and wetlands that provide a serene escape from urban life. One of the highlights of the park is its stunning views of Mount Vernon, George Washington's historic estate, located directly across the river. This connection to American history adds a profound sense of place and significance to the park. The National Colonial Farm, situated within the park, offers a fascinating glimpse into 18th-century farm life, with demonstrations and exhibits that are both educational and engaging. Wildlife enthusiasts will appreciate the park's rich biodiversity. Birdwatchers can spot a variety of species, including bald eagles, ospreys, and waterfowl, while other visitors might catch a glimpse of deer, foxes, and other native animals. The park's well-maintained trails are perfect for hiking and exploring, with paths that meander through scenic woodlands and along the riverbank.

A hidden park with a nice view of Mount Vernon. This is a hidden park. To get to it you have to drive south of DC and through a rural community for a few miles until you get to a parking lot that marks the beginning of this park. Be looking along the way as we saw a lot of deer grazing in the open fields along the route. According to the NPS website, “Piscataway Park is home to bald eagles, beavers, deer, foxes, ospreys, and many other species. To complement the surroundings, the park has, in addition to a public fishing pier and two boardwalks over freshwater tidal wetlands, a variety of nature trails, meadows, and woodland areas. The Park is also home to National Colonial Farm.” The parking lot leads to the walkway and the dock. There are several informational signs along the walkway. Mount Vernon can be seen from the dock across the water. The walkways lead either along the water or through the farm. The farm has old-style fence construction and original wood structures. Some very nice people came out and answered our questions by the barn with the rams. Some birdwatchers told us about unique fowl that were visiting. Overall, I found it fascinating, educational, and informative.

Very nice little park with walking paths, kayak launch on the Potomac, and an old farmstead for exploration. The river views are pleasant, the historical displays about the native history are fascinating, and the heritage livestock kept on the farm are interesting. A bit out of the way but worth the trip if local.

This is a lovely National park on the Potomac River. This was the view from George Washington’s Plantation. The visitors center is closed on Mondays. There is a public fishing pier and nice walking trails.

I’ve loved this park since I was a kid. Great place to take a scenic walk on the boardwalk or along the shore. Little beaches to stop and rest and plenty of spots to fish. I was sad to see the teepee that use to be there when I was a kid was gone but still a great place to visit. There is so much in history there and nearby parks if you want to make a full day of it. Right across the river is Mount Vernon as well.

Piscataway Park is a hidden gem. While it did have some minor upkeep issues I genuinely enjoyed the trails as well as learning the history. While it was a bit hard to find it was a lovely place for a hike in the DMV area :)

Nice, relaxing spot. Saw turtles, crayfish, salamander, tons of butterflies and dragonflies. A lot of fisherman and kayaking.

My boys wanted to experience something more natural, since they don't get the opportunity in the city. I just happened to come across this little gem. It was right up my alley in the price, Free but donations are welcome! We got to interact with the animals, observed the drying of tobacco in the tobacco house, look at colonial homes. We even walked out onto the pier and saw Mt. Vernon. Make sure to pack bug repellent when you visit!

When you first arrive, it takes you to a random spot. So, I would make sure to put the National Colonial Farm are you point to go to in the Park for parking. There is also parking on the right just before the main park entrance where you can go walk on the Accokeek Boardwalk and take the Accokeek Connector Trail back to the main area where the education building and visitor center is. There are bulls, which was awesome to see and places to fish or put down floatable devices like kayaks and a canoes. There are trails that a flat and others that are hilly and a little more treacherous. But there’s something for everyone. You can also have a picnic there. It was pretty great!

Pleasantly surprised by this place! Was looking for a new outdoors place to see in the DMV and I found this just through its high ratings on google reviews. We parked at the Colonial Farm (visitor center closed due to Covid) parking lot. Arrived around 10:30 am and it was about halfway full. If it got really busy in the afternoon I think there would have been space to park on the road but it didn’t seem like parking was running out when I left at 2:00 pm. I enjoyed the park because it was a little bit of everything - the farm has animals, there are some shaded woods parts, the piers to see the Potomac were nice (the water sounds like the ocean in some parts!) and there was even a marsh type area. Lots of people fishing on one of the piers. Some picnic tables by the visitor center. Bring water - there is not much shade around the farm. Family friendly and some people had dogs. Aside from the farm animals, I saw an osprey and a newt! There were maps available and we just made a large loop around the farm and by the water. Easy to navigate and 95% flat ground. Majority of people were good about social distancing and wearing masks.

Great vistas of the Potomac River as well as historical significance. The fantastic 1770 farm has authentic buildings and livestock. The trails are very nice. The Potomac is accessible from two piers, and we had a great view of George Washington's Mount Vernon. Parking was free and convenient.

Great place to take a family with young kids for an easy outing. Great scenery, view, botany, wildlife, hiking, fishing, colonial farm and heritage breed livestock. Pack a picnic, wear good shoes, and it's a perfect day.

Easy trails all around, but lots to see. There are a lot of effort to preserve nature here and there's a lot of events in the park perfect for the family and getting away from fast paced city life. The trails lead you to farms, barns, domesticated livestock, the Potomac river, and wetlands. A small part of the trail also feature laminated info graphics perfect for nurturing a love of learning and nature in kids.

I love this park. It has a lot of history and I love that they have a village set up with farm animals, and the caretakers live on site. One of the hiking trail takes you along the Potomac River with a view of George Washington's Mount Vernon. It is definitely a place to visit and experience.

Really nice park with great trails and views of the Potomac river. It sits directly across the river from mount Vernon. Found a lot of nice sea glass on the beach.

This was an interesting adventure! A great place to take the kids ... definitely a family place. Well marked paths will take you on small journeys around the land .. some close to the water, some inland .. around a small pond ... a working farm ... plenty of places to take shade or have a picnic. I enjoyed watching the animals and seeing all the different flowers, trees, and sites .. Oh, and you can see Mt. Vernon from the boat dock!

A good place to observe homestead life. There is a nice view by the river. Some short trails, but don't go for the trails! This is a good trip to pair with Fort Washington Park, which is nearby.
