Bought new quality tires from PeP Boys Germantown. Very happy with tires and our vehicle drives securely now during bad weather. Had initial issue with TPMS sensors not working but I brought back the car and it was reset and fixed the next day. Thank you to Adolfo and service techs for help on this.

Appointments mean nothing at Pep Boys. I do not recommend them if you value your time. We made an appointment for 1:30 today and the same clerk told us it would be 2 hours before they could even look at it and then another 1 and a half hours to work on it. It was one tire. What a waste of time. Never again would we use Pep Boys and please be prepared if you do for disappointment.

I went in to have four tires installed that I purchased from TireRack.com. The service advisor recommended a four wheel alignment. Although I had no steering pull before the visit, I had not had an alignment done in a long time, so I agreed. When I left the shop and started driving, I immediately noticed the vehicle pulling to the left. I returned to Pep Boys and explained the issue to the service advisor, who said they would take care of it right away. After waiting over 60 minutes, I was told the car was finished. I left again, and the vehicle was still pulling heavily to the left. At that point, I did not have any more time that day to return and wait again. When I got home, I noticed the driver side front tire looked visibly low. I checked the pressure and found it was at 20 PSI, even though the vehicle placard clearly states 35 PSI. I had to inflate it myself. This situation is unacceptable. The vehicle did not pull before service, and it left your shop pulling twice, with an improperly inflated tire that should have been caught during installation and alignment.

I cannot recommend this place for car service. I went once for tire balancing and somehow it took all day. I went a second time and they changed the price at checkout. I had to argue all they way up the chain until a manager fixed the price to the agreed price. I shouldn't have to had to do that.

Worst of the worst Go In for a service with an appointment and still expect to be there for more that 3-4 hours because “they have too many cars” so why give an appointment? Change any tires get the rims extremely damaged or most likely come back every other week for them to check why the tire keeps loosing air . Customer service is terrible for informing the client about what going on or how long it will take . Extremely annoying and frustrating service. I don’t even know why I even bother to come here .

I was warned about the kind of help Pepboys employs. But I'm hardheaded. It's a long story, but here's the short version: On the 28th of December, at 9:45am, I walked into the Germantown Pepboys armed with $868 hard earned dollars, which would satisfy the installation of 4 brand new tires on my vehicle. 7 long hours later, due to an incredible lack of work ethic, rampant incompetence and laziness, I walked away from the same Germantown Pepboys with not ONE tire installed. But I still have my $868 hard earned dollars, which will be spent at Quality Discount Tire and Auto on Monday, wherein a customer's dollar, time and patronage are respected. 4.9 stars from 2.7k reviews speaks truth to that. You see, I was warned, but I'm hardheaded. Fool me once...

Not professional at all they been trying to fix my car check engine light for months and a half make me waste my time and money every Saturday i took it so they can fix it but problem was never solve engine light went on after few days all the time, last time they forgot to put the engine oil level stick back and make a mess on my car now my car interior smell like oil. I am a patient person try to understand never get mad so easy but this place push me to the limit with their incompetence.

I scheduled an appointment for 10 AM on a Saturday. When I was dropping off my card to simply get the new tire that I was purchasing installed onto my car I was advised that it should only take an hour no more than two hours. I gave them more time than they quoted me and came back at 12:55. Nobody contacted me. Nobody messaged me. Nobody let me know they were delayed when I came to see why my car was still sitting in the parking lot and seemingly untouched with the same old tire on there the person at the register was very rude dismissive and told me that I could take my car somewhere else. I asked why is it 1255 in my car is still not on the bay and no repairs have been made and clearly in the front did not care. He said they got behind and that’s what it is. When I went back outside, then a service ran out to come and get my car. At 1:05 I get a call from Pep Boys and they’re telling me the thing around my car asking me to pay for more money to get these things taken care of. I’m like no why would I spend any more money with you people when you couldn’t even simply just change a tire within The time frame that you all quoted me. 130. They call me and tell me that my car is ready when I got there. There were still no apologies. Nobody cared about wasting my whole Saturday afternoon. Nobody applied to the discount. Nothing just dismissive like I was bothering them. I didn’t drive my car much on Sunday on Monday. I drove a little bit and I heard a squeaky noise but didn’t pay any mind cause I know I just got new tires, new rotors and a new caliber not even three weeks prior to this Tuesday morning, My brand new tire is flat. I went back to Pep Boys to tell them you guys took 3 1/2 hours to simply put on a new tire that I purchased from you. All you had a stink attitude about everything and now my tire is flat you guys can see as a car seat in the back of my car, this is ridiculous. You need to fix it now. They take my car into the bay And while I am waiting for my car to more customers come in with a very similar complaints as mine the person at the register with the same guy with the attitude on Saturday gave them a attitude no answers. It was just pretty ridiculous. About 45 minutes later, the guy that was in the front comes out and says oh yeah nothing’s wrong with your tire. It’s just they forgot to put air in it when Installed the new tire. At that point, I just stared at him. He’s crazy. How can you be so irresponsible so careless you had one job to put on a new tire how and why could It be acceptable that you forgot to put air in the tire. Still no apologies no cares in the world just nothing. I absolutely would never recommend anybody ever taking their vehicles To Pep Boys they overcharge you they are disrespectful. They don’t care about your time. They don’t care about your money and when you have a valid complaint, they look at you like you’re crazy.

Trash service . I called ahead of time to make sure they had availability for an oil change and tire rotation . Advisor told me yes and that the wait would be “a couple of hours” I arrived 20 mins later and asked again to which they gave the same answer . Fast forward almost 5 hours and the car was still parked outside . I asked multiple times what was going on to which they answered “oh sorry it may take till 8 pm now.” I understand things get backed up but at least have the courtesy to “advise” of the situation so logistics can be worked out . Now I missed the rest of my days work . Horrible communication and unprofessional staff .

They've renovated, removing the storefront becoming an auto service center only. Same small waiting area with complimentary coffee and a TV that's mounted a bit too high, but it's not a big deal. I do wish that another guy would work the front especially when the line start getting long or that the person using the other station would just leave so it doesn't look like he's just ignoring the room. I assume he's working on important behind the scene stuff but he could at least acknowledge/ greet people coming in letting them know that their presence has been recognized. This not a 24/7 issue but I've come across it a few times. Outside of that minor issue, I have no problems returning for future auto service.

They schedule an appt to come at the end of the day to patch a tire and 30 minutes before they call to cancel the appt and rescheduled for Tuesday at the end of the day. When i got there they said 2 hour wait to be told that they could not fix my tire because it affected the other tires and offered me to buy all 4 tires. I went there to patch a tire that was it. They made me wait, cancel did not bother to look at my tire but want to sell me tires. Horrible consideration on people time. if they don't want to patch a tired do not accept the job. From a 25 dollars we want to over a 1000. Will never go back there or refer anyone to that pepboys

Had my car told him because I needed the power steering fixed. They did a great job and finished before the expected time. The only drawback was I think it was a little more expensive than I could’ve had at other places, but it drives great after the repair was done.

I went for four new tires and an alignment. I was told 90 minutes, I assumed maybe 2hrs , max 2&1/2 I was there 5/5&1/2 hrs. Yes. I understand if they are understaffed, but then they need to be more realistic with the times that they give people so that people can make other arrangements. I would’ve went home. I have another car at home and I could’ve taken myself around all day. But they couldn’t communicate that and that’s the problem. They’re very nice people, though. My experience: They didn’t take my car into the garage until 12, I got there at 0930. They had to get me a Lyft because I had to pick up my son. I was late back by 1pm, still wasn’t done. Fed my son, came back… wait an extra hr. If he said 4 hours, 6 hours this morning I’d have left as a drop off. They do overnight! Like what?! They wasted my time.

Pep boy took car of my needs. The person who helped me was helpful, courteous understanding and explain everything step-by-step and told me it will take two hours. He called me exactly a minute before two hours to tell me it was ready. I can’t ask for more.

This is for the store in Germantown, MD on Frederick rd. I went in on Friday to get a diagnostic because my “engine power reduced” light came on. I was told I needed a VVT Selenoid and oil change. They told me I had to come back in. I was told to make an appointment in the morning, I made an appointment at 10:30a and my car was done till 5:34p. Not only did they take forever to “fix my issue”, on Monday night my “engine power reduced” light came on again. I told the guy in the front that I wanted another diagnostic and I would like to see the codes, he was dismissive because I am a woman “who don’t know“, they over charged me for something simple. If I paid $110 for a diagnostic, just to be lied to and getting over charged for something that wasn’t even wrong with my car.i also left a voicemail for a call back, got to the store and was told that they heard my voicemail but I never got a call back so I had to come back to the store. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE ESPECIALLY IF YOURE A WOMAN!!!

I've always appreciated the transparency and professionalism from the Germantown Pepboys location. The two gentlemen at the front, have been respectful, polite and informative. Especially Sergio, he is consistently a consummate professional. The inside of the establishment is clean and welcoming. Thank you for fixing up my kia soul each time I bring it in. You all rock!

Zero customer Service - Dropped off the vehicle @8:30 and they say it will take an hour for Oil Change. We go back at 11:30 and the vehicle was untouched.. No apologies from Matt - i asked for the keys and he just handed it over.. On top of it they create a fake zero dollar invoice to shows that work was done but actually they never touched the vehicle... very unprofessional from Pep Boys and especially the guy Matt... U can see the attached report..completely fake - never really needed a brake inspection.. all that was required was oil change... i attached it to make sure these people do not claim anything later.... Never visit this place...

Replaced 4 tires and had an alignment done. I told staff that I was going on a long trip to Florida soon and I needed to make sure everything was taken care of. When I picked up my car all the wheels were covered with a white residue and I had a missing tire cap where air is put in. I asked them to clean and they tried but it was caked on so it was still dirty after they wiped off. I noticed later on that they damaged one my rims by chipping it. Probably did it when taking old tire off or putting new tire on. While driving to Florida, car would vibrate and shake when I hit 60mph and it gradually got worse. I ended up driving to south Carolina and stayed in a hotel. The next morning I took car to Mavis tires and they said the tires were not balanced right and they fixed for me. This should have never happened and I am very disappointed with pepboys. I paid over $1000 dollars and this was bad service overall.

I had an 8:00 am appointment to get a complete fuel service don’t on my 2015 Ford Taurus. I was on time and so was Adolfo, the Technician. He was pleasant as he asked questions concerning my car. My car was driven to the bay. I was told when I made the appointment that it would be 1 1/2 hours for completion. The car looked new, the test drive was successful. I was very pleased and the car drive smoothly.

11am appointment and the vehicle was ready at 5pm for new tire installation. I had to put air in the tires upon returning home. Car was returned filthy with grease all over it. Scratched wheels. Rep was kind and professional, but that was the only positive part of the experience. Never again.

So been going to pepboys for almost 12 years now and aways had great service but in the last couple of years they have changed management a couple of time and the newest team really suck. The last two years I have been going to the one on jordan lane and those guys over there are great. This time I went back to SParkway because I work right behind there shop. So took my car in because the TVC sensor went out. I also explained to them that one of my tire sensors was going out and told them to give me an oil change as well. I got a call about two hours later that subaru had extended the warranty on this TVC sensor and I should take it there but I needed new tires and get them rotated. It was going to be $950 bucks. I said okay that sounded fair for tire and rotation and the sensor oil change. Well when I picked up later that afternoon I picked my car up. Scheduled Subaru and next day dropped it off. When I went the next afternoon to get my car I was driving and notice that the tire sensor warning light went off, but my Subaru was not reading and tire pressure on any tires. I took it back to them thinking maybe there broke them or left them off. The guy was so rude to me. He side there is no way that they broke or were left off. He cleared the warning light and said he could tell me what the issue was. So now I’m stuck with a warning light on and them supposed to have fixed them. This is been a horrible experience and I do not recommend them at all. I have a credit card with this company. This is total bull crap. I have write the head office but haven’t heard anything back from them.. they also left all this crap on my tires that I thought they were scratched so badly. This is unexceptional.

TLDR: They deserve ZERO stars (NEGATIVE stars if I could). I thought the worst part of this interaction would be the 6 hour wait I had with an appointment at noon. DO NOT GO HERE - unless you want to risk waiting and your tires being worse than when you came. ITS BEEN TWO MONTHS since I went there and Im still having issues Full story: I made an appointment at noon on November 27. I had ordered the tires a few days before with the expectation (as the order said) they would be ready for that appointment (since I couldn’t make an appointment sooner). I arrived at pep boys for the scheduled appointment at noon. Spoke to the owner who mentioned the wait time would be 4-6 hours (which is crazy with an appointment) but we said fine okay. At 2pm we received a call that they were looking for the wheel lock. I called back a minute later and they said they would look. An hour or two after that they called back saying they couldn’t find the wheel lock?! (Hello why didn’t you call me back right away) and so I went immediately walked over form the neat store I was in to find it. They had left my car UNLOCKED in the public parking lot in the middle of a shopping center. I found the wheel lock and gave it to them. NOW an hour or so later they called to tell me they DIDNT have the tires I ordered. ???? So I asked if they had any other tires I could use and they said they did and I insisted on a discount due to the fact this was their mistake and eventually they agreed. Finally around 6:10pm I left the store and the service (I Thought) was complete For the next month, I proceeded to have air leakage issues which I had NEVER EVER had prior. I found myself on the side of the highway since my tires were sliding on the highway (it was a sunny day. No rain or no snow). My dad checked the Psi.. it was two flat tires in the back. 16 PSI for the lowest tire. I did my best to avoid ever going back to pep boys so I went to a trusted family friends Tire shop.. They showed me that the metal rims had NOT BEEN cleaned (which is a standard part of tire changing service - pep boys when I went back the second time - coming soon - told me it wasn’t). So the tire shop cleaned the rims and I was good for a week or so until I noticed the air was still slowly leaking out.. while it was slower it was still leaking. I went back to the tire shop and saw there were some cracks in the rims on THREE of the four rims (they only checked three). Again, NEVER was an issue before. My dad convinced me to go back to pep boys (which I now regret) in hopes that they make things right. However, they told us there should be no issues now (why would they say that if they properly checked the tire and saw there were cracks??) and that no they didn’t clean the rim cause that’s not a necessary part of the change (THEY SAID THAT??) I’m shocked. Now I haven’t driven my car in a few days due to being sick.. and I find that one of the tires that has barely been leaking is at 18 PSI?? And the others are around or below 20. So it’s worse than before. I do not trust them at all. These people do not care about life or death clearly, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they screwed up my rims or sold them or something. I do not trust these people. I will absolutely NEVER be going back. They are lucky I haven’t gone as far to take legal action yet because my life was definitely on the line. Their job is to disclose these issues and they clearly DO NOT CARE.

Stay away. Brake installation in 9/23 which took 8 hours to complete needed to be redone three weeks later. Wasted 5 hours time. No apologies. Refused to credit me with a warranty tire that started to shred 6 weeks later. Caught a billing error. If you want to be ticked off, aggravated, and sit in a dirty waiting room and stare up at a black ceiling fan which should be white - Pep Boys Germantown is where you want to be. Have to go take care of my runny nose. Wonder what could have caused that?

This is a good place to get your repairs done. Honest and Friendly. They even send you pictures of what's wrong with your vehicle and explain in details the solutions to your problem. Way cheaper that surrounding repair shops and dealers.

Pep Boys in Germantown is almost always a good experience for me. And, my most recent trip was not an exception. There were a few hiccups with my experience this time. I went in to get new tires, that I ordered from Amazon, mounted and balanced. I setup my Pep Boys service at checkout on Amazon and paid for the service there. Pep Boys took delivery of the tires ahead of my appointment and stored them for me at no additional cost. I arrived on time for my appointment and they took me right away. The cashier advised that I should get an alignment when mounting new tires. I agreed, and he said it would take a couple hours. Approximately 3 hours later (not so great) they texted me and I went back in to get my car back. They could not perform the alignment, because they don't have the right equipment to perform an alignment on my vehicle (also not so great). They did not charge me anything for the alignment and I was on my way. The only real issues I had were how long it took, and the fact that when they put air in the tires it varied by about 5 PSI across all four tires. And, no two tires were the same or even the correct PSI. That's not a big problem for me though, because I have a small air compressor at home to pump up my tires. So, I'll fix that myself. Overall it was a good experience, with a couple small issues that didn't greatly effect the outcome.

Arrived at 0945 for my 10am appointment. Online quoted me 30 mins however the guy at the counter said it will take about an hour. The waiting area has free WiFi, coffee, TV and chairs and looks quite dismal. The store is large, clean and truly a man's play ground! They have a lot of employees however I didn't ask any of them any questions to test their knowledge. Overall my experience has not been to disappointing. Before preceding with my oil change they did tell me all that was wrong with my truck. Because I knew what was wrong already, I can say their findings were spot on.
