Very efficient process and workers are helpful. And its free to drop off! The entrance is a little confusing

For the most part, it's usually a good experience. I don't like the fact that you can have a driver's license for AACO, but if you have a rental car, you can't use the landfill. It's actually absurd that I pay taxes to live here, but if my car needs work, I can't use the landfill! The rental agreement shows you that it's temporary. AACO needs to fix that policy!!

The front gate of the landfill needs to coordinate landfill policy with the back area workers. About a month ago we arrived at the entrance at exactly 3:35. The landfill is open till 4:00. There was a little line at the gate which took us around 9-10 minutes. There was a little line at back dump area which took us another 10 minutes to dump. As soon as we pulled up we were confronted by an aggressive worker who told us we have 2 minutes and then have to leave. We started unloading as fast as possible. Total unload time was maybe 4-5 minutes. 2 minutes later and halfway thru unload he yelled at us to close the gate and leave. 1 minute later a "manager" yelled same instructions to us. 2 minutes more and we would have been done. The employees were so aggressive we just packed up and left. If the back area employees are going to determine landfill policy, then the front gate should coordinate accordingly. If back area employees have a 4pm. hard stop on unloading the front gate should close and stop letting vehicles in at 3:30. Ridiculous!

Make sure you come early don't wait for the last minute your will be in a long line like an hour before you come early in the day open from 0800 to 1600. 8am to 4pm. You can show your id and ask for a sticker and never show your id again as long as they see it

So many places to litter, and they don't even mind! Just dump your garbage on the ground and drive away. Very mindful, very demure.

The staff always helpful. Clean, well organized and it is amazing how they successfully manage such an overwhelming amount of trash and recyclables.

My bad experience. This time is in part due to my lack of research and understanding which I paid for. The part that was holy on the staff at the landfill was unacceptable. Normally go through the recycle and lower recycling entrance and show my ID to the the posted employee. He seen me and talked to me many times over the last few years. This time however, he said I needed to go to the landfill side. I asked him why. He said because of your vehicle. I found this odd because it is the same vehicle I have been bringing to the dump for the last 5 years. I asked what he meant and he ignored the question and told me to make the first left and circle back out to the street to go to the other side. I said okay and did as he said. I had to guess that it was because I just recently put car magnets for my new business on my truck and that must trigger some sort of commercial dumping apparatus. When I circled back out onto the street, I saw the long line for the landfill side. I made a u-turn to get in line and by the time I did the line was moving and several vehicles were forming a second line and driving past the first line. Having never been there before, I followed those vehicles to what I thought might be a second scale. But they were vehicles for the county I believe. And by the time I thought to turn around, I only saw do not enter signs the way I came. I did not believe that people waiting in the other line would let me in so I kept driving. I intended to tell the next attendant that I came across when it happened, but after I said "hey man", The attendant just told me to keep driving all the way to the end. I did so and dumped my home refuse. I figured I'd have to explain what had happened without sounding too dumb. By the time I reached the window on the scale, I attempted to tell the attendant that I accidentally went past the initial weigh-in but he did not want to listen to that and became very hostile toward me and accused me of stealing and knowingly lying about it and said that I would have to be charged to which I said that's fine. I just wanted to explain that I made a mistake. The entire interaction at that point was just hostile and unnecessary. I understand that they have probably had several interactions with other people being dishonest, but it was not necessary to come out of the gate swinging like that. The lack of clarity plus the hostility is unacceptable and should be addressed.

Normally I wouldn’t think to write a review of a county dump, but this place is exceptional. It is surprisingly clean and really well organized, but what is most notable is that the people that work here are AWESOME! They are so friendly and so helpful- I’ve had to visit here several times in the past few months and every time have had the best experience.

Great place to dump stuff or trash. there are two entrances one for more like house holds type of trash and other for contractors or bigger trucks. if you are on a company vehicle or business they will charge you, if its from your own house they cant charge you if you are in MD. Also you can pick some stuff up such as mulch (used to at least). And some stuff they charge no matter what like boats and things like that.

Person working the entrance today was rude and unprofessional. My husband was there to drop off trash and because he was in his company vehicle (Traverse) she gave him a hard time and refused to allow him to dump the trash. Drivers license proves he’s a county resident. Maybe he should have opened the trash bags to prove it was crabs and bottles from a 4th of July party to prove it was residential trash and not commercial. But a rented U haul was in front of him and allowed to dump.

The guys and ladies here are very helpful if you have questions. You can also use the RecycleCoach app to figure out what's trash vs. recycling. Love that they have food scrap bins so I'm not wreaking havoc on my garbage disposal. There's an area for food grease, motor oil, regular trash, medical equipment, clothes and shoes, tires, electronics, etc.

The county offers "free mulch" from this dump. If you want any, they then demand you sign a release form. Why? Well because there's something shady going on with the mulch, clearly it can hurt you in some way that would leave the county liable. Now of course they won't tell you what's wrong with it either. Just sign your rights away and then dump the mulch all over your property, what could possibly go wrong? Thanks for the service Anne Arundel!

Went here for the first time the other day & they were great, easy to access, and signs posted to give you directions. Just a heads up, it is a bit of off-roading & REAL muddy after snow/rain 😅 which is to be expected, but definitely wear boots if you do go after rain/snow. It's a good place. I definitely recommend 👍

I love going to the Millersville dump. Helpful staff, clean facility, free dumping for AA residents. They recycle coolant, oil, plastics, and metal, too. Bring your id and truck registration.

I’ve not been a resident of Anne Arundel County for decades, but recently I had to return to clear out my Mom’s home. All of the folks at the Millersville landfill were understanding, helpful, and professional. The layout is efficient, and I was able to get a lot done—recycled and/or disposed of—relatively quickly.

It feels weird giving a dump 5 stars. However, I've probably been here a dozen times over the past few years and every single time the staff has assisted me without issue. They even helped me haul a washing machine out of my car because I was by myself. It gets crowded on Saturday but they're efficient and keep the cars moving.

Did you know you can recycle your kitchen scraps and produce that's gone off? I had been looking into joining a composting program, which you have to pay for (it's not a lot, but still I was hoping for a no-cost option). Somehow I came across information that you could bring kitchen scraps to the Recycling Center that's right next to the landfill. Now I go there every Saturday morning. During the week I throw any allowable kitchen scraps (check the website- you can bring lightly soiled napkins, pizza boxes, meat bones, and some other items you can't typically compost) into a brown bag. I clear out my fridge and fruit bowl of anything that hasn't survived the week as well. I grab my dog since she loves to go for car rides, and we head over to the Recycling Center first thing in the morning. There's usually a small line, but it moves quickly. You have to show your license and registration in order to enter. The fellas who man the entryway are always very friendly and helpful. Tell them what you're bringing and they'll tell you where it goes. Everything is very well marked as well. I drive up to the bins and dump everything out of the bag (items must be loose). You can even bring used/expired cooking oil! Now I finally know what to do with that bottle of vegetable oil I have that expired in 2018, lol

Employee working Saturday, 6/24/2023 around 2:00 at the landfill main gate was RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, and CONDESCENDING!! He should be replaced immediately! He is on some kind of power trip and has no concept of customer service nor possess basic communication skills.

This place is a dump! And I mean that in the most endearing way. You will meet some interesting folks here - some that drive around collecting bulk garbage just so they can experience the thrill of chucking it off of a concrete cliff and watching it crash violently into the dumpster below. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and overall the vibe is more Busch Gardens than county dump. The Google user ratings are on par with my favorite restaurant in the area, Vin 909, and that is not just by accident.

Today, Friday - There was a storm but it stopped at 3:43 and there was a line of about 10 cars ahead of me and about 10 cars after me. We where waiting for the workers to reopen the gates. We waited until 3:55 and no one showed up to open the gates. There should be better supervision of the workers.

Thank you to the guys who take care of collection in Severn off Clark Station Rd. I overslept this am and forgot to put out my trash. Heard the truck and ran out with my trash to find my neighbor doing the same. We both missed pickup (truck had passed) but we left our stuff out hopefully. On the way back out of our neighborhood, the guys made a special stop to grab our "late" trash. Thank you for the kindness, going the extra mile and keeping our community clean. (And I won't oversleep again!) Second compliment: I visit the Millersville Landfill every other month (at least). The staff is always pleasant and helpful. The landfill is tidy and well-organized and they can move a line.

What can you say about a landfill? The ambiance and menu choices leave something to be desired. But the real question is, would I recommend this to a friend? Yes. Absolutely. The place is very very well-run. The staff is very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. Not sure where to take your used motor oil? They will direct you. Need to figure out if this is a trash or a recyclable? Again the staff is very helpful.

I would have given 5 stars but they now make you take small trailers out to the yard when you used to be able to back up to the wall and dump. I understand some trailers are to big but they should allow for smaller ones. Like nothing larger than an 8 foot long bed. There is plenty of room I did it for years.

This is the place to be on a nice Saturday morning! Very clean and well organized. Upper area is for a quick in and out. Lower area is for your bulky stuff. The friendly and courteous staff are never too judgmental of whatever you might want to drop off. All in all, the whole experience leaves you with the feeling that your discarded belongings, beloved or not, are going to a better place.
