This has to be the worst company I have ever dealt with. I want to start with my FIL opened an account with this company three years ago, that upon his passing we kept for his two homes while the estate went through probate. So dumpster services have been open for three years, (never missed a payment, always on auto pay) in the three year time span the bill went from monthly to Bi-weekly mind you of $75 they only pick up the trash when they feel like it. Had three of my children’s bikes toys run over in the yard, mind you there is a rap around driveway there is no need for them to drive on the lawn. I was almost ran off the dirt road as the drivers do 30+ up a camp road that is 10/15 mph max. When I finally had enough and asked for removal they still billed the estate yet didn’t collect trash and left the dumpster, so I stopped payment and again said collect your dumpster. This was two months ago, I have called, and called left messages no response. This week, finally spoke with someone and was told by the ruder then hell woman who answered in the Chelsea location they would dump the content of the dumpster in my yard upon collection. I am referring them to my attorney and DEP at this point. 10/10 wouldn’t recommend doing business with this company to anyone.

The only reason that i'm not giving them a zero is because you cant. Three times now my trash is not been picked up because the lady at the office cannot seem to do her job we go. In and pay cash every time and my garbage has been unhold three times not only is she unprofessional she's just not a kind person at this point i'm willing to pay more money for another company to pick up our trash than to deal with incompetive people have a beautiful day ps after this review they called and canceled us lol that was the plan anyways but we found Casella Waste Systems that is cheaper and offers recycling for a less expensive than what we pay just for trash , Received $25 ,

The woman incharge of billing is completely incompetent to due her job. She will stop service a week after you pay the bill. She will gaslight you and when you come with receipts instead of apologizing she will get an attitude. She has shut our service down 3 times after I paid the bill. She then gives payment options based her ease not the customer needs denying the option to pay cash or pay in person until after you call her out on that being illegal. She will then gaslight you again.

AWESOME AWESOME Company! The gentleman that take care of the trash bin at my shop are always on time, pleasant and incredibly friendly. And you can't beat the reasonable rates!

This company has skipped picking up our trash MULTIPLE TIMES and has never offered any kind of compensation for the trouble, and they rarely apologize. The customer service is horrible, they lie, and 9 times out of 10 the guy driving the truck BACKS DOWN OUR ENTIRE ROAD instead of simply turning around. We have small children on this road and this is extremely dangerous! We are actively looking for a new company.

They went from once a month which is what I signed up for and then a year later forced me to go to every 2 weeks which almost doubles the cost. I’ve seen dumpsters around he sit for weeks and not get emptied but once every couple months but that’s not an option for us I guess. I called today to have the payments stopped from charging my card as it was paid in full as of today. They also wanted to charge. $75 fee for them to come get it when it’s their dumpster and the woman was extremely rude when I said no I don’t think I will need to pay for you to come get your property and she said that’s fine I’ll just place a lien on your property for the $75 then said she was hanging up now and click. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone and my neighbors will be switching to another local company for much less.

As I was pulling out of my little dirt road early in the morning, I pushed my brand new truck over to try and be respectful of their big truck, and the road. They pretty much made me stop my truck in my tracks due to them not giving me any room as all three men are laughing in the front sit passing me not sharing the road. I pretty much had to put the truck in the ditch to try and avoid them as they were driving towards me and then turned back into my lane. Definitely do not recommend a company that thinks its okay to drive people off their own road they live on..

Switch to Gregory's. I live in Fairfield and they are always on time, almost right on the dot each week for the past 2 years at least. I used to use riverside but never again

There customer's service sucks ! Rude employee's liars hang up on me twice there lazy. Can't or won't let me talk to owner . But I see owner has the time to come on here and respond to people but can't take the time to talk to a 10 year loyal customer. Hell of a way to run a business in the great state of Maine. I give them no stars just a finger up!

Emily!!! What a sweetie! She helped me select the right solution to fit my residential trash needs (size, frequency of removal), and got the dumpster delivered pronto! Service hasn't begun yet, I'll post about that once I've had a few pick up under my belt.

Extremely poor service and unprofessional business. Told me when I asked them to come get their dumpster that "it was implied" that I had to get put on the schedule to get them to come get it, when the office people told me just call them and they'll come get it. Don't waste you money. Rude and arrogant.

Disposal truck backed into a vehicle behind my place of business (Damariscotta) also ran into cables on a utility pole. Would not take responsibility for either damage. Secretary hung up on me when I explained the situation. This company could care less about responsibility or reviews. I recommend any other service. Cassella waste, Regional rubbish etc

Honestly very poor service ethics. I haven’t even got the dumpster delivered and Emily hung right up on me for asking a simple question. I asked why they were charging me $325 right off the bat, not even knowing the pick up date yet or how long I’d have it for. I was told on the phone $75 dollar charge to hold the slot and for delivery. $250 at pick up. If you haven’t even picked up the dumpster yet (which it’s $3 a day if you go over the week) why are you charging me the full price without knowing the actual cost. I can see the $75, but not the full amount where I don’t even have it yet. I called back to asks this and was told “am I charging the card or not” and before I could even finish asking the question or to talk to someone else I was hung up on by Emily. The worst service I have ever dealt with with trying to understand the charging fee and I will be taking my business somewhere else and will be letting anyone else know how I was handled here. Not a good look.

They had great service, until it came to canceling services. I moved out of the residence my dumpster rental was at. My sister called to switch over her info, but they still charged me $72 (monthly fee). I called to figure out what was happening. The woman that answered the phone was incredibly rude. Unwilling to refund my money. I asked about canceling the dumpster, but I told her “no do not cancel it” when she told me they would charge another $75 to remove it. After that phone call, they charged me the $75 removal fee, without my permission and they will not return my many phone calls. Very unprofessional.

Will NEVER use riverside ever again! 1, they are absolutely the rudest people. 2. The guys that dumped my dumbster often pissed right in front of my living room window (have on my camera) with young children at home! 3, we moved gave them plenty of notice to come get the dunbster and it sat there. 4. They charged me $75 after they were told to close my account sent no bill just decided to charge my card without permission! Terrible company!

I greatly appreciate how easy this was to step up services for my home. The two employees I interacted with when I called to inquire and later when I called to start services, were extremely pleasant. They also were very consistent and provided all of the important information right up front. Anything you do today with companies seems to be so complicated. I love it when it’s simple and easy!

Called to fix a billing problem and to rent a dumpster for a home project. Sorted the billing issue (I hope) and started the dumpster inquiry. Was hung up on mid sentence before I could get pricing. Tried to call back and she picked up and hung up again. Finally she let me go to voicemail. Has not called back with pricing for the dumpster. Granted I was being a little chatty but friendly, however I’ve never been treated so rudely on the phone by a business.

I am not impressed with this company at all. The people who live behind us use them for trash removal. I had noticed when I had started doing cleanup of my gardens since last month or March even that something or someone had been messing with my fencing. Realizing, now, their trash removal people have been the ones knocking over my metal fencing that I have near my garage area. This am my hubby was outside for a few minutes at the time they were removing our neighbor's trash, and he stated that two gents with the company tried fixing my fence as he had been looking out the window of the garage for curiosity due to them taking a long time to clean out the small dumpster they have and was just across the street and they were out quickly. He stated I either should speak with the neighbors or call riverside...The neighbor heard me bitching about it the other day as I was trying to fix my fence again, this time was bent... I stated now time to let riverside know that they are the ones causing my fence damage and knocking my fence over several times and moved my cement blocks out of the way as well. The ladee I spoke with abruptly interrupted me when I was speaking and asked me if I just wanted them to move the dumpster? lol I said yes I do because it costs money for my fencing and gardening and not going to keep going through this year as I had just had surgery on my shoulder and cannot keep fixing it and not happy when there is alotta hard work time and energy and money that goes into my gardens!!!! Thank you very much! Oh yeah since you all do not serve Durham, ME. I went with Cassella....good people there!!! They went above and beyond to help me and my family member! Still stand behind what I said in my review!! For my own piece of mind and being a good person, even tho I am in pain, am moving my fence and garden today to insure myself of no future excuses for any future damages to my fence and or garden relating to dumpster issues ....

We love Riverside and their employees. They are friendly and helpful. Quick to resolve issues. I really want to thank those workers who come out in the frigid winter and sweltering heat. Waking up earlier than the birds to pick up our garbage container. I don't know how anyone has had any negative dealings with Riverside, ours has been nothing less than a positive relationship. I have had a 2 cuft dumpster with them for 9 years. Anytime, I have had issue such as frozen garbage in the bottom during winter. I just give them a call and they take care of it. I have even rented larger dumpsters for home renovation and they were timely, friendly, and even placed it in the exact spot I needed. Keep up the great work Riverside

This is a horror show of a business. Do not get involved with them! We had tenants who rented a dumpster and then were evicted by us at great expense. They did not pay their bill with Riverside and now 2 months later it is still sitting on our property festering and creating problems with critters for us and our neighbors. Multiple calls, multiple messages, still no response. I am calling my attorney now. So more money out of our pockets. Awful customer service and they don’t care! I would give them minus stars if it were available.

This place is horrible with customer service. One of the owners herself will argue with you to no avail and just doesn't have an ounce of professionalism. They are way overpriced and their drivers don't value your time or property. Even if you try to give them more business they make sure they over bill you and then argue about it. They have excuses for everything so don't bother disagreeing. They just don't care. The positive reviews must not care about what they spend, and just don't deal with them enough to realize it. My suggestion is just stay away from this company. While there aren't a lot of good choices in Maine in general, I have to say this one is poorly run, managed, and suffers from bad leadership.

I need to update my review. My pickup is on Friday. With Memorial Day on a Monday, I figured they would be behind and thought they would pick up the following business day- the next Monday. Yes, they sent an email, however, I hardly ever check my emails. So Saturday morning rolls around and I don’t have my car out of the way. By the time I realized the beeping noise was one of their trucks, I ran outside to move my car. Instead, the guys said no worries. We got this. And they proceeded to take the trash bags out by hand. Amazing service all the way around! Definitely call them if you’re needing trash pick up. They go above and beyond for the customers! I called and left a message just after they closed for the day on a Wednesday. The next morning, I received a call back as soon as they opened. I set up an account with them for a dumpster and was told that it would be delivered no later than Tuesday. Imagine my surprise when a few hours later a truck was pulling in front of my house with a dumpster that same day! Not only are they very friendly and helpful but they are very fast at getting you all set up. Would highly recommend them to anyone in their service area!

We have been with Riverside 20 plus years. Management does it best and crews do their best. Not every employee can by honest or competent. We have had to deal with a couple. However, our service is on time every week. We are satisfied with Riverside.

When I requested the dumpster I was told I could change the frequency of pick ups, anytime I wanted, from once a month up to 4 times a month. Now in winter apparently they don’t offer once a month…. Would have been nice to know that in June, I wouldn’t have accepted the dumpster at all. I understand with things freezing it makes getting trash difficult, but you led me on to something you knew full well I couldn’t do. Extremely over priced for as many customers I know they have in my area. Also when I sent an online message to the requesting a dumpster they called me within 2 days. When I sent a message that I just wanted someone to call me, it took 4 days. Horrible customer service, I recommend looking elsewhere for disposal services. Customer service is all a business like this has, that’s why I selected poor quality.

I do residential pickup and it’s a toss up on any given week whether or not they’ll actually pick up my trash. It’s an ongoing issue with not just me but my neighbors as well. I pay them to perform a service and it’s anyone’s guess from week to week whether or not that service will actually get done. If you have any other option, DO NOT give these guys your business. *UPDATE* After speaking with someone on the phone, I was told that I would need to put my trash across the road in a foreclosed on properties yard. I asked what would happen if someone bought that property and asked that I not put trash on their lawn? I was told “we’ll cross the bridge when we come to it.” I didn’t find this to be an acceptable answer so I asked to speak with the manager. Manager answers and I begin “Hey my name is -“ before I was rudely cut off and told “I KNOW WHO YOU ARE, my drivers ARE NOT stopping there.” I had a few choice words for her and demanded a refund, which I was told I would receive and am awaiting. Disclaimer: I do have a steep driveway at a bit of an angle but if they did not want to pick up my trash, couldn’t they have told me they wouldn’t do it? How long would I have gone putting trash out for NO ONE to pick it up or tell me otherwise. Very rude people and they aren’t even capable of picking up trash. You’d be better off going to a local dog for services than these people.

I have been a customer of Riverside Disposal for several years. I am always so impressed at how timely they are at picking up my trash. If my pick-up day has to change because of holidays they always call me and talk to me to make sure I know about the change. We have even rented dumpsters off them twice when renovating our home and got the greatest service. When I have called with a question - and to temporarily stop pick-ups, I have received courteous and polite service. I am 100% satisfied with this company and am thrilled that they pick up in my area (we had only one company in our area before and they were terrible, so as soon as Riverside came to the area we switched over and have been SO happy!).
