My car was weighed and I was directed to throw my metal scrap in pile. I waited inside for some time. The guy came in and said it was only worth around 11.60 and not worth the cost he would have to write the check?! So, he REFUSED TO PAY ME!!! I contacted the police- but they said, though reports have been made about here before, you have to file a claim and go to court with a filing fee! This yard is thieving and rude- DO NOT GO THERE!
Clark’s Scrap Metal — where honesty gets scrapped too.
I called them in September 2025 about recycling metal from a renovation. The person I spoke with said all their pricing was online — so I checked their website, saw fair copper and wire prices, and ordered a 30-yard dumpster for $350.
We loaded over 5,500 lbs of copper pipe, electrical wire, and cast iron. They picked it up on September 27. Two weeks later, no payment, no call. When I finally reached someone named Lacy, she told me that the prices on the website don’t apply to dumpsters. Everything — even copper — gets paid at $0.04/lb.
Four cents.
Nowhere on their website does it say that. When I pointed that out, she basically admitted they couldn’t make money if they paid what they advertise. So instead, they just don’t.
We lost thousands because they never disclosed this. If they’d told the truth upfront, we’d have brought the metal ourselves. Instead, they pulled a bait-and-switch after the fact.
No wonder they’re growing fast — it’s easy to expand when you’re profiting off deception.
Kind and respectful people but no service or professionalism. I was trying to have a car scraped and have it removed but the owner doesn't own their own tow truck...? I had also asked them to call me during mornings because I work nights (sleep afternoons) but that went over their heads. Never got a call back in the last few months.
I have never been treated so badly at ANY business, in my life. The owner is a piece of work. Ask around folks will tell you the same story over and over.
I will never go there again. Yard was FULL of glass, bolts, ect. Owner is just angry at the world I guess. I left and went to Oakland.
Remember I told you so.
The guy running the scale is great and friendly. Takes time to explain where stuff goes and what the process of sorting stuff at there yard is. Also easy in and easy out.
People at Eastside Scrap are friendly. Always has been a quick in and quick out. We've visited multiple times this spring/summer as we clean up our property. Nice to get a bit of money for junk that we'd otherwise need to take to the dump.
We brought a whole truck load 1000lbs of mixef scrap metal to this place. They were only going to give us 40 bucks for the whole load. I decided to go to Aim in oakland maine. When we told them we were going to go to watetville the older guy had a very disrespectful attitude and said go go go like get the hell outa here. very rude. Aim in oakland gave us 99 bucks for the same load. Very bad business skills.
