Great service for a couple years up until
I got charged 130 to use a code reader.( something that I can do myself) also gave me a quote then I took it back for another mechanic and saved almost 1000$.
Very responsive and helpful! I was headed to an appointment in Brunswick, from Scarborough, and had an awful n noise develop under the car. I was referred to Freeport Auto Repair. Of course, I didn't have an appointment but the gentleman took my car for a test drive and easily fixed the problem. He wouldn't even let me pay. Really a gentleman who was responsive, knowledgeable and considerate. I even made my appointment.
Don was very nice & explained things to me. He did an amazing "bandage" fix for my parasite draw on my battery. It is working fine. (The dealer dissed me)
We were vacationing in Freeport when my Jeep Liberty broke down. We brought it to Freeport Auto Repair and they replaced the starter motor and had me on my way in record time and a very reasonable price. Cudos to Freeport Auto Repair.
It's hard to find a good mechanic. This is a good mechanic. If you are looking for a place with a shiny waiting room with WiFi, flatscreen TV's, and a bouncy house for your kids that will charge you 200 bucks for an oil change, go somewhere else. If you are looking for a garage with a guy who fixes cars really well, really fast, and pretty cheap, this is the place.
These guys have treated my 2005 Honda Accord very well. So far I've done business with Don twice and he's now my go-to mechanic. He also does concise and active customer education to help a vehicle idiot like me out. They charged reasonable rates and had very quick turnaround for a stuck rear brake and (later) a corroded piece of heat shield that needed to be re-welded. Don also does inspections and they keep up their certifications and licenses. I really like these guys!
