Found Chris' Expert Volvo auto repair off Google Maps, and tried him out due to his high ratings on here. Turns out he runs an honest business and was able to find and repair a burnt wire causing issues, which very few others would have located. He cut me a break on the time spent looking for the wire, so it was much appreciated. I try to stay away from dealer rates as much as possible, and this guy is A. a great dealer alternative, but also B. seems to be worthy of being your main Volvo repair shop regardless.

Chris saved my girl, AGAIN! My 2011 XC 60 wasn't well. We thought it was terminal. BUT NO! Chris to the rescue and she is cured. Expert Volvo is just that. I highly recommend trusting your much loved Volvo to Chris and his staff.

I am new customer and dealing with Chris and Expert Volvo was amazing. Clear communication, clear process, was able to see me quickly. With an older Volvo, he sorted out what the issues were quickly, and got it into great shape so I feel confident with my kids driving this car.

I took my 2015 Volvo s80 to expert Volvo and was wildly impressed. Chris and his team had the issues diagnosed with a quote for the work needed to be done within 4hrs. They finished the work by the end of the next day. The car runs beautifully now, even after sitting almost unused for 2yrs. I cannot recommend Expert Volvo enough. Amazing work and customer service.

Shocked... My brief experience with Chris on the phone, trying to become a new customer absolutely shocked me. I had expectations I would at least be treated with kindness as a prospective new customer. Chris was rude and short with me. I've been searching for a Volvo oriented shop, when I stumbled upon Expert Volvo and read the loads of tremendous reviews I was excited to have found a shop to start a relationship with. Maybe he's having a bad day, I don't know what's going on in his life, but my expectations based on the reviews did not match the interaction. After I hung up, I had to process and double check that I didn't call the wrong place. The interaction: I called, Chris answered, I said "Hi my name is Adam and I called a couple days ago inquiring about an alignment and you were kind enough to call me back. I'm thinking of bringing my car to you and just wanted to run this by you if you have a second". Chris replied, yes but it's gotta be quick because I'm in the middle of a set of tires. I replied, oh, is there a better time for me to call? He replied that he keeps busy all day long most days so now is fine but it needs to be quick. I said, my car has a camber issue in the rear, I've been told there is no adjustment in the rear. If I were to buy adjustable camber arms or something would he be able to install and get the car aligned. The reply from Chris was "1. You didn't tell me what kind of car you have. 2. We don't install customer supplied parts." I said, Okay, I appreciate your time." He said "ok bye." Maybe I misunderstood his tone...But it certainly felt like I didn't. I said "if I were to buy"... I'd be fine buying them from Expert Volvo if he sourced them, I understand shops need to stand behind their work and installed parts as well as make profit on parts. I'm fine with that and just needed someone to help me fix my car. If Chris would have just explained that he would have to source the part, or that he can't usually source those kind of parts or clarified what I was asking at all...that would have matched his reviews. Instead his tone was that I was wasting his time, and he gave me a literal verbal numbered list of what I did wrong... Again, maybe just a one off bad day or something else going on in his life. Just felt I had to share my experience amongst the great reviews that led me to have hope...

They keep me up and running and has done my v50 great justice

This shop is awesome. Even though I've only had state inspections performed here, we ended up replacing my wife's Audi with a Volvo due to my experience. They properly identified a safety issue with my wife's Audi that we never noticed and gave me a heads-up on the life expectancy of my rear brakes. On a non-technical note, my 2-year old daughter loved watching them work through the shop door and they were great with her.

My mother has been coming here for a few years. The owner is extremely nice and thoughtful. He didn't charge her for unneeded items and had the car ready and parked outside when he said it would be. He is honest,kind and a professional at what he does. I would send my family or friends to him without a doubt!

If you want to be treated fair, go see Chris and his wife. They are at the shop everyday and I’ve had two standout experiences with them out of the few times I’ve gone there. Old volvo and newer Volvo, I bring both to them, treated great either way. If something is not right, Chris WILL make it right and you won’t leave disappointed. (Like ALL other mechanics it seems, these days..) Warranty work done like the pros, probably better. FAIR FAIR FAIR is the only word used when I talk about Expert Volvo. Super professional.

I had an outstanding customer experience with Expert Volvo! Chris went above and beyond for me when a car I inherited needed an overall “health assessment” and then the necessary work completed. I was managing this from Ohio and he and his wife went out of their way to help me get the car repaired and transfer to the body shop. I've been going to Chris for 8+ years. I would not own Volvos if he didn't have a shop. He kept my 2004 Volvo S60R and now my 2012 Volvo T6 R-Design in top running shape. Best Volvo mechanic in Maine for sure if not N.E. 👍🏻👍🏻

My partner and I were very lucky to find Chris and Tammy when our older Volvo 240 broke down. Chris was able to accurately diagnose the problem (faulty fuel pump) and did everything possible to get us back on the road quickly. We were impressed with both his expert car knowledge and his communication. I’ve never had a mechanic who communicated as clearly and transparently as Chris - he also has a great sense of humor. If we didn’t live a few hours away Chris would be our go to mechanic. We highly recommend Expert Volvo.

I brought my 07 Volvo S40 to Chris which had sat through the winter. When I got it started again in the spring it had several problems; all kinds of error codes, ground faults and possible alternator issues. Chris was clear chasing wiring and grounding issues can take time. We agreed to a sensible repair schedule. It took a while longer than expected but Chris made it right, fixed all the problems as agreed upon. He went above and beyond. I am very happy with his work on my XC70 too. I'm glad I've found a quality mechanic I can trust.
