I needed new front brake pads on my 2021 BMW 430i XDrive. I'm from out of town & was here dealing with some unfortunate family business. I really needed good local shop that was flexible given my situation. Chad was GREAT! They were they able to help me on short notice & completed the repairs very quickly with genuine parts from BMW. I brought my car in for coolant leak, during the initial inspection they found the engine mount needed replacing. Fast, professional service. Chad was awesome! I highly recommend these guys.
We live an hour and 20 minutes away and travel to bring our Mercedes Benz to Brians because we trust them so much. A fantastically run business by a good man of business ethics. I just left from Brain German Auto, 11:30 am January/14th /2025 , let's go back to the previous, at first I brought my BMW on December/ 24th / 2024/ , I left to be diagnosed and they finished with it by January 10th 2025 , let's be honest, I was satisfied with everything, they noted for me to have the TURBOCHARGER WASTEGATE, to have it connected, on the other hand I had a mechanic who worked on the car before I brought it in for diagnosis, he removed some panels and components which really have nothing to do with TURBOCHARGER wastegate to be connected, today I went back to Brain German Auto, I spoke to the manager and asked him about to have the TURBOCHARGER wastegate, to have connected, he told me they will not do that until they reassemble whatever panels and components, the only thing, I asked him again, can you give a price on TURBOCHARGER wastegate to have it connected, and he was extremely agitated and you could see it through his eyes almost wanted to ask me to leave , I already spent $288 for diagnosed and to be fair they did start the car by connecting the ecm and installed the camshaft adjuster sealer, and I was happy with the work been done the first visit, and I was about to leave a review with 5 stars, but the second visit, the manager was agitated and aggressive trying to tell me , the only way we can do it is for me to bring the car to the shop and the estimate will be between $1,000 to $2000 to connect the TURBOCHARGER wastegate and reassemble whatever panels and components which was removed, but the way he said, very agitated and aggressive almost want to ask me to leave, this the kind of attitude thanks

Our girls go to LSU and we had used this BMW shop previously because dealerships are usually a bit more expensive. Recently we found they charge $170 just to open the hood or raise the car up, even if no work done. $30 for office supplies and such. Their work is suspect and not worth anything you save. Living out of the state it’s hard to find honest garage folks and I can tell you won’t hear either. Run!
I will only get my BMW 5 series serviced at Brian’s German Auto. Check engine light came on twice and twice walked out with minor repairs. Very honest repair shop and always has availability. Thank you!

Took my car in, told them exactly what was wrong with it. After being quoted an outrageous estimate (2000 labor cost for a 300 dollar air compressor), they charged me 200 dollars for them to tell me the exact same thing I told them which was I need a new air compressor.

As an out of town buyer, I found a vehicle in Baton Rouge that I wanted to buy. I called up GAS and spoke with Brian. Even though they were booked solid he, made time for me to have the vehicle dropped off for a pre-purchase inspection. He told me, “when we do PPIs, our goal is to look at it as if we are the ones buying it. If it doesn’t meet our standards, we will tell you to steer clear.” For half the price of the Audi dealer down the road from him, I got the most comprehensive inspection on a vehicle I’ve ever had. I sent him an email of specific items to look for and he responded with a full up diagnostics report and download of the cars ECU. In addition, I spent at least an hour on the phone talking about the history of the model I was looking at and I was able to get a TON of good info about what to look for. He really knows his stuff. Turns out there was an emissions readiness monitor that was not set, among a few other issues. Unfortunately , the scumbag dealer sold the car out from under me. But the worst part was that after having years go by without ever having a good feeling about my mechanic, when I finally find one, he’s 600 miles away. Wish I could do more business with you Brian, really happy with my experience.
They did great, honest work. As an avid DIY'er I can attest their prices are very fair for the amount of work and attention to detail German cars require. They completed oil pan and engine mounts which require subframe drop in less than a day turnaround, impressive! Also the staff is helpful and professional.
Just go to BMW on airline. They some hustlers. Call this morning for brakes. He says I'm not cheap I'm good.. before even giving a price.. I HUNG UP... DNT go here.. they BULL SPIT. & If they were good they would've fixed my music issue months ago. Couldn't figure it out. Had to bring right back to BMW. So stop acting like your so good... SMH.

I will save you the details of my experience(s), but I will say that these guys will go above and beyond to make your situation right, no matter the cost involved to them. Brian and his staff are excellent and personable - they are real people, not a dealership trying to milk you out of your entire wallet. I would not think of taking my 2001 E46 anywhere else in Louisiana. Much appreciated!
The service to customers goes above and beyond....recently my engine light kept coming on... they never stopped trying to find the problem, even to the point of seeking outside expertise. And so friendly...learned the proper way to play paddle ball lolll....thanks for that. I won't go anywhere else. I would recommend in a heartbeat.
Very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable group of guys. Brian was especially helpful in getting my BMW on the road and running strong. These guys are not at all "by the book" type mechanics, they are open to suggestions and new ideas about working on a car and willing to help save me money by looking at alternative ways to fix my car (I've know a number of BMW mechanics that say it's their way or the highway.) I came all the way from Florida to get my car done right and I'm glad I did. Maybe I can convince them to move closer to Jacksonville? -probably not. Darn!

German Auto Recyclers has changed their location and name. Now closer to the Baton Rouge side than Denham Springs, German Auto Sales has made shop in an old boat retail facility as of August 2009.
They are always been good in helping me find parts for my 1999 BMW, and their service and knowledge of older cars is always exceptional. Next time I am in the market for a new-to-me BMW, I will definitely check out their inventory.
