What started out to be a great day to visit our niece at LSU ended up being a nightmare! Our Nissan Altima 2015 transmission dies on the way up there! Luckily was able to literally drive it to her apartment building. After hours of trying to find a towing company that works on a Sunday and wasn’t going to take hours to pick us up or even return my calls we were able to get the car towed to C&R Automotive. They too do not work on Sunday but luckily only a mile from my nieces apartment complex and had a key drop off. We live in VA but visiting my brother his family, mother and sister in Gulfport, MS I was told it was hard to find a mechanic that would get back to you unless you badger them. I literally got a call first thing Monday morning from Greg which was a surprise. I explain the situation and he said he would get back to me with information as soon as he can. He called again the next day Tuesday to tell me that it was the transmission failure. He gave us the price of a new transmission and when it will be completed. He kept his word and called me when the car was done. He was so accommodating and helpful especially having to deal with him from Virginia. If you are in the Baton Rouge area and need car service, I HIGHLY recommend C&R Automotive and working with Greg! Honest, reliable and respectful.
been here plenty of times. The owner (I think- older guy) is always very nice. He’s even done a couple small things and not even charged. I’ve sent my younger sister here also and they never price gouge or try to just get you for money (which is very rare). I would trust them 1000% every time. If you are looking for a mechanic shop that is genuine and honest come here.
Overpriced, bad service, bad attitude, they don’t call you, no communication, and Brett tried to sell my car. And all of my personal property was missing out of my car. In a nutshell, it by far the worst mechanic shop ever. Don’t even consider bringing your car there. You will not be happy with the end results!
C&R had my vehicle which was hit while at there on top of that I got into it with the owner r mechanic for was told he was going to take parts off my car and this is my car the same day I got it. Which the only replaced my rear shock absorbers and the screw comes out while I’m driving it home. Wrecked and driving worse.
My car had been making noises and my boyfriend who typically does my car maintenance couldn’t figure it out, they were able to get me in and out for a new water pump in a day.
They were up front with the cost and called before they did any work. They also were willing to stay a few minutes after close so I could pick my car up and had Apple Pay available.
Brought my car in trying to find a clunking noise in my suspension. They were able to look at my car quickly and called me back a little more than 2 hours later pointing me towards my worn strut mounts. The staff was very friendly. I’d definitely recommend this place.
Today I went today to get help with my taillights, and I want to thank Mr. Greg for his attention and for going above and beyond, he was very kind to me and took the time to help me even when I arrived unannounced, may God bless him .

Had been going Here for years but today they lost a customer. My problem wasn't addresse
I told them exactly what was wrong. And which part needed fixing. And they completely. Blew me off. The lady upfront rolled her eyes at me the last time I went in. Take your business elsewhere. When they are to busy they will push your issues to the side or say nothing is wrong with your car.
My daughter attends LSU and was having car trouble. Since we aren’t from the area I checked an LSU parent Facebook group that had recommendations for C and R so we gave them a try. I completely understand why they are highly praised. Greg and Brent were great. Honest and knowledgeable and the customer service was excellent. We will definitely use them again and recommend them to others.
I was on a Roadtrip and had a problem with my Impala. Greg did everything to solve it and get me back on the road. Didnt accept a tip i wanted to give. Honest workers over here! Thank you
I needed a new master cylinder for my toyota. Greg took great care of my vehicle and did an awesome job. The price I was charged was far less than I thought it would be. I have found my repair home at last.
Everyone at C&R was very helpful when my car broke down! They got to it very quickly and worked with me to find the warrentee on the part that broke, significantly reducing the cost! I appreciate all of their hard work!
Outstanding, Norman and his crew are wonderful. I say that bc they have serviced my vehicle and family vehicles for years. From pricing to the quality of work they perform. I find them better then any dealership or mom and pop stops. Very knowledgeable and kind.
Normally a 5-star service, but failed to tell me that the body shop (separate business) would call me when parts came in. Authorized repairs on Friday when I picked up vehicle and stated I would drop off vehicle on Monday pm. Drove 15 miles to the shop and was told it would be 2-3 more days on parts. Drove 15 miles back home with unhappy wife following me!
I'm the parent of an LSU student. Look, dealing with car issues and trying to help your child out when you live out of the area can be stressful. Take some of the stress out of the equation by going to Norman and team at C&R. I chose them because of other positive reviews, and the team did not disappoint. Polite, trustworthy, and fair. I'm pleased to recommend C&R and will be using them for any future auto repair needs.
I cannot say enough about this shop. I have a student at LSU, we are from Nebraska, and he has been in incredibly helpful, doing repairs, and helping my son with repairs and maintenance. . Honest, trustworthy, transparent when there was an issue he couldn’t fix. I don’t know much about the Baton Rouge community, but if this is a reflection of it, then you are all in very good hands! Can’t get enough stars!!!
Definitely the place to go. I had problems with my suv and the guys at C & R went above and beyond to help me. Not only did they fix my problems they gave a great price. I won't go anywhere else but C & R!!
The gentleman here allowed me to focus on family crisis, deaths . My vehicle sat on their property for 4 months while I made funeral arrangements for my family members. All the while many valuable things were in my vehicle. When I picked my vehicle up, ladies and gentlemen EVERYTHING was there wear I left it. You will not find higher quality anywhere.
Norman is very easy to talk to and polite. I showed him a video of my cars problem when I went inside and he told me he will take a look. Called me back later and told me a price and what needs to be fixed. Got my harmonic balancer and serpentine belt replaced at a reasonable price and was back on the road the same day! I found Norman to be dismissive of the information I gave him and felt that he often didn't listen to what I was saying, talking over me several times. I went to C&R with an emergency steering and braking issue. They tried to scan my car for a diagnostic error code and told me that there was an issue with my cars' programming because they couldn't get a code from it. They advised I take it to a dealership to fix that issue first and did not try to fix my emergency problem otherwise. I did as they suggested, driving my unsafe car across town, and was told by the dealership that there was no programming issue after all and that it was likely C&R's equipment. As a result, I had to pay an expensive fee for the diagnosis. I asked Norman if I brought my car back for the actual repairs, would they give me a discount to offset the cost of the dealership fee that I only had to pay because of their flawed advice. Norman actually chuckled and told me that "I didn't have a strong case" for a discount but vaguely said he would "try to help", although I was not reassured by this clear attempt at placation. I felt very disrespected throughout my interactions with them and will not be going back.
Norman is very much a gentleman that made me feel like my truck was in good hands. Turnover for repairs was 24 hours and the cost didn't make me gasp deeply. The staff-Renee' being one gentleman that was helpful, polite and reassuring without words that my vehicle was in good hands. Bring you car here first. You will be pleased!:)
My service engine soon light came on and I was able to drop my car off after hours (put the keys inside a secure slot) and get it diagnosed and repaired the next day. Great and honest staff that don’t try to up-sell you. This was my first time going there and I plan on returning!
Super professional and price is great. Was there for turn signal replacement, he said he would go take a look at what needed to be done, and when he came back after 5 minutes it’s already fixed. Highly recommend.
My car was saying that the coolant was low so I stopped by one day and they checked the level and topped it off for me free of charge! they were super nice about it and super friendly. Would definitely go back or recommend to a friend. Good local business!
Friendly, honest mechanics. They helped me keep my '93 Ranger running all through college and grad school. They've always given me better service and lower rates than any of the chain shops I've used. I recommend them every chance I get.
People there are friendly and professional. However price there is a little high compared with other auto shops. A simple oil change will charge you 39 dollars. Transmission fluid change charge for 200 while other transmission shops only 130.
