This was my first time going to any recycling center and I was recycling aluminum cans because we are saving up money for our trip to Niagara falls and I figured why not save aluminum cans and we could use the money for that to put towards the trip, because if it is only $4 or $5 that's $4 or $5 we didn't have. I looked at my Google maps and I was closest to this business and they were open and for someone who is inexperienced with how this all works the staff was absolutely incredible. They were very helpful and I appreciate all the help and everything that they explained to me and everything they did for me. I would recommend this business to anyone. They are fantastic. Thank you all so much for your help and your patience. I really appreciate it.
It was not a bad experience just wasn't all that good I had 290 lb of metal I only got $14 just barely paid for my gas I don't think I'll be doing that much more only thing good about it I got a bunch of junk out of my yard and got a little bit of money for it so it wasn't all that bad just wasn't that good have a good day
Read the review before I went and got mixed signals and honestly if it wasn’t past noon on a Saturday, I would’ve went somewhere else but here’s my honest review.
The staff was nice, friendly and helpful. No complaints there.
While I was expecting their prices to be a little bit lower than say, river city recycling I was not expecting for their price to be half the price of the average price in Louisville.

I tried multiple times over a time period of about an hour and a half to call down there before going there to check the prices but no one answered and I didn’t want to show up any later than an hour before they closed as to not be a dick.
In summary, if you have some copper or some scrap metal containing copper and want to try to cash in on Trump, 50% tariff on copper you might have better luck somewhere else. I wish I had gone somewhere else but if it’s Saturday at 12 o’clock and you have a load of scrap metal and you need money this is the best (only) option.

I recently visited this scrap yard with friends, and our experience was utterly disappointing. The facility was disorganized, and the staff treated us with suspicion, making a spectacle out of our transaction.
Despite providing legitimate scrap materials, we were subjected to repeated inspections, implying that we were attempting to sell stolen goods. The lady that was in the trailer AKA office that checks you in and pays you, did receiving, and whatever else she was doing's behavior was unprofessional, and we felt uncomfortable throughout the process.
To make matters worse, we discovered that we were significantly underpaid for our scrap. A comparison with another local scrap yard revealed a price difference of almost $1.50, indicating that we were ripped off.
I strongly advise against visiting this zoo / Barn / horse stable smelling scrap yard. Their unprofessional behavior, suspicious treatment, and unfair pricing make them an unreliable choice. Take your business elsewhere to avoid similar experiences.

Derby city scrap yard on millers lane has provided me an my wife with nothing but beyond professional services an the owner an his crew are the nicest people you will ever meet the owner of this bussness is as involved as his careful SPECAIL hand pick long time employees every one of them everytime we come in the owner there working hard with his team they make scraping fun an we sure do look forward to a friendly visit every time I would not go to any other scrap yard to do my business Derby city pick them. I got quoted the lowest price on data cable that I’ve ever heard eight cents a pound normal rate is anywhere between a dollar and $1.40. Not sure about any other prices, but I figured I’d let anyone know if you have data cable probably not the best place to bring it
They stole our corvette picked it up off the street towed it straight to the scrap yard!! Beware of these people we had even reported it stolen! While there with the police they wanted to show us pictures of the person that (SAID) our corvette was there’s!!! Beware beware if you have a stolen car drive by this place cause they won’t report they got a stolen car! You have to catch them like we did with our 95 corvette!!!
My coworker just took some decom to this center and they told him 80cents/lb for the copper while they were weighing then tried to give him 50cents/lb at the counter…THEN tried to lock him in because he argued and told him to never come back. Definitely not a great experience!
First time I went there I was welcomed , taken and treated with respect. Owner is a heck of a man and staff is even better. They treat u right and yes I will continue to do business there
There is a review system for a reason!! If you can read like I can’t, the community will tell you to leave these ppl alone. I didn’t take their advice I wish I did!! Don’t even waste your time. Ppl are rude prices aren’t fair. So, please read!!
I only came here because they say they're open on Sunday last time they were closed on Sunday the lady said that they were only closed one time in a few years on a Sunday so I tried again but they are closed. They also give less than most if not all scrap yards in the area.
Says theyre open sundays online and they cant answer their phone so just drove all the way there low on gas and theyre closed smh. Asked a dude there if he knows anything ab them being open and he said he has no clue and acted as if how dare i ask. Dont recommend this place at all whats so ever.
So went there today and let me just start by saying the people are actually pretty nice, but only because they are robbing you blind while smiling in your face. For one there is something just not right witb there prices, i had over 700lbs (according to their scale) and was only paid $29 and then i went up front with what i expected to be well o er $60 witha catalytic converter and was ony given $13 and then i go to get my money and they tell me that they are out of cash and tbat they could eithwr give me $20 today and the rent in the morning or write me a check, i decided to take the check, i left stright from there and went to PNC (THIER BANK) and was told tbat the account was in tbe negative and they wouldnt be able to cash it! So needless to say this will be my last trip there expect for wjen i go up there and get my money tomorrow and try to speak with rhe owner! Ill let you all know how that goes
