Look for gate one for general public entrance. I dropped off 13 bicycles. It was fast and easy. Payment is received with receipt at ATM on-site.

Lady at window tried to cheat me. She asked me if I had been there before. The person working in the back just took my last name and said to use my last name at the front window, but the lady at the front window for some reason wanted to see my ID then she wanted my Social Security number and my thumbprint and signature then after I did all of that She handed me $20 and a receipt with no weight on it. It just says sheet metal $20 and have to realizing that I went back to the window and she printed out another receipt and gave me 15 more dollars but the receipt still didn’t match. She had on all these diamonds and jewelry and make up and you can tell she’s just sitting up there, skimming off of the top and cheating people who’s working hard for their money

It's an absolute cluster (insert famous four-letter word here)! Everyone walking around is rude and it's more than obvious they hate their jobs. Let's start by saying that there is improper signage directing people where to go. Hell, I've never been here... Anyway I went to gate 2. There was a guy in a little booth off to the right who was eating his lunch who yelled and said "You're not supposed to be here, go to gate one it's down the street!". I said sorry but there's no signs telling me where gate one is and he said "gate 1 down the street go back" So I did and drove around for about 10 minutes going to other businesses trying to figure out where the hell this place was Then I get there everybody rolls their eyes because I have some aluminum scrap metal that was left over from my solar panel installation. A few of the aluminum beams were too large to fit in their standard measuring equipment so I had to have it weighed separately. It just seemed like I was such a bother by being there. This is my first time recycling anything and it's not like these people aren't making money off of me. I don't think I'll go back. This was a horrible experience and literally 3 hours of my life I'll never get back and for what? Lousy 20 bucks? Pfft!

Since everyone is being robbed of copper right now, and you all are probably buying it perhaps we should be giving you the bill for all this theft.

Several things wrong with the situation. First of all it says they're open till 4:00, I arrived at 3:45 and they told me they were no longer accepting metals. They said they'll make it an exception and take what I had. What I had was cast bronze, and some cast aluminum. I've been a welder for over 30 years and I know my medals. They tried to tell me that the cast bronze was not bronze, that it was aluminum, and they wanted to give me the lower price. I'm no idiot, I've been working with metal My entire life. And I know the difference between bronze and aluminum. I wouldn't trust them for one second, and I definitely will not be returning.

They made it easy for me to get rid of quite a lot of heavy scrap metal that I've just been accumulating for a long time, and they did it without making me feel like I was desperate seeor something.

Lousy place to go. If you are dropping off steel or other ferrous materials, expect a flat. They are too cheap to pay an employee or to buy a broom attachment to clean the drop off site ever. They use an old conveyor belt bunched up to sweep with a claw backhoe. If you drop off any better grade metals, expect to be cheated by classification or weight. You cannot see what they classify the stuff as until they hand you the slip. Extrusion aluminum is classified as sheet aluminum or cast. Thanks for reading. Now go someplace else. Oh, and if you tell them something is extrusion, they will just tell you that they won't buy it as that, even right after the attendant just agreed it's extrusion.

Like how metals, aluminum and copper won't end up in landfills thanks to this company. However, they don't pay a lot for all of it. Best way to take there is to disassemble and remove all plastics, etc.

The attendants were very helpful for my first time being there. I went to the River Road facility. Here's what I've learned during my experience. If you are general public dropping off an appliance or metal objects then here is the process. First, go to Gate One. Get on the weigh station, get out of your car, and have your driver's license with you. Go to the window to talk to the attendant in the booth. He'll take your driver's license, ask for your license plate number, weigh your vehicle, give your DL back, and then at the end of the weigh station is a white box that will print out a slip of paper that you will take to the next attendant in a smaller booth up ahead. Then you're free to unload your stuff. Then you go back to the other side of the 1st booth with the weigh station. The attendant will weigh your vehicle again, deducting the weight from the stuff you dropped off, and another white box at the end of the weigh station will print out a cash receipt that you can then use at their ATM up ahead. Scan the barcode on the receipt, and the ATM will give you cash in that amount. Nice and easy process if you know what to expect. Now that I know it I will probably use this facility again if the need arises.

Fast service when selling your scrap metal. They are currently offering the highest price per pound in the local area for commonly recycled metals. A major plus is NO checks they pay cash on the spot with a valid ID. One thing they should correct is the directions listed on maps. MAPS will take you to their corporate office. If you are selling scrap use the entrance with the GATE 1 sign. Depending your direction of travel on River Rd this entrance is approximately 500 feet (before or after) the place that MAPS will take you too.

The employee that weighs the copper and aluminum was not having a good day. He was rude and short with me after I asked some questions. He asked me if I had some ID and I said I have my River Metals card that was issued to us. He then said his scanner was not working. I said do you need the numbers on the back of the card? He then said "I TOLD YOU MY SCANNER IS BROKEN!!!." He then asked for the name of our company and as I was telling him, he walked away. I said this recycling is not in my name, it is in our non profit organizations name that comes here to recycle. I asked him a couple other questions and he ignored me. I'm a frequent customer but normally I'm not treated this way.

Great place to recycle all the stuff (almost all) you have lying around the house that you don't use. Check out the website for instructions on drop off. People were helpful and process is quick and easy.

Solid shred capabilities. Change in management really degraded their shred to profit ratio, but overall, acceptable. Fiercely mild recommendation.

Receiving Crew here are friendly, and professional. A Little on the laid back (slow) side for my time table, but I've waited longer. A bit disorienting to try to navigate the proper designated area for whatever load you bring in on your first visit as I found out. Once the proper designated area was giving, it began to make sence.

Emitting toxic smoke, rust dust & loud noise. Not a good neighbor. Louisville Water Front activities suffer.

Rude customer service, and bad company in general. I called them to report that one of their drivers thinks he's driving a monster truck and acts like he's going to plow the semi into your car. After reporting the incident the representative hung up on me.

2-8-16 Do not go there! Just took a 70lb load over there pre weighted! Got a ticket that had 48lbs and lowest grade of copper! Scam artists, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PPL!
