I paid $600 to have the fan in my car fixed. When I picked up my car a week later, the interior reeked of cigarette smoke -- but, the fan worked! However, two months later, the fan stopped working.
Sadly, during that time, I had relocated to another state and spent a summer full of 100 degree days without a working air conditioner in my car. I normally never leave negative reviews, but I have thought about this for a long time, and I cannot in good conscience recommend this shop.
Had my vehicle towed here because I was told Autoworks was a good repair shop. They didn’t want to repair my engine, they just wanted to replace it with a used one with more mileage than the original one. Then the labor cost was more than they quoted me for the engine. They told me they don’t do internal engine work. Apparently rebuilding the heads is too much for them. So, they might be good at replacing air filter and oil changes but not a true mechanic shop. Over priced the job, maybe they just didn’t want my business. Do your research before taking your vehicle here. They may act nice but that’s just a front to take your money.
Spoke with a representative on the phone about a few services I was looking into. Gave me very solid advice and was honest about their capabilities and resources, then recommended I have specialized servicing at a dealership. The honesty and patience was refreshing, as they were looking out for me instead of just their bottom line. I’m confident that this may be the most reputable autoshop I’ve come across.
super awesome shop! as a woman, i am frequently talked to as “lesser than” when it comes to auto shops, as if i know nothing about my own car. the guys here never made me feel belittled at all, and gave top tier service when it came to my car. highly recommend!!!
Three hundred miles from home our car broke down. A friend of our daughter’s recommended Lexington Auto Works. They did not disappoint! They were knowledgeable, efficient, easy to work with, and clear and concise in their communication. They were very reasonable in their price and in no way tried to take advantage of us. I cannot say enough good things about Chris and Lexington Auto Works. I highly recommend them.

I did not even have an appointment, and simply just came in to ask a question about how to tape up my broken headlight. They immediately helped me and even did the taping for me! Coming from a 19 year old away from home, it meant a lot to me! Such nice people.

Last week we had our Subaru clutch replaced here. We dropped it off Wednesday and picked it up Thursday afternoon. Unheard of at a dealership. And the competence of their mechanics is obvious. Howard did an excellent job on the clutch and also other needed repairs and also made good suggestions. My car has never driven better.
They even washed my car before I picked it. They know how to run a business. Chris is on his game as well making everything seamless communicating with the customers.

My car broke down in the middle of Lexington traffic. I live hours away, and no auto repair I called could help me until the middle of next week. I called Lexington Autoworks and Chris was incredibly kind and concerned. He immediately got a part ordered for my car, and they had me up and running in a couple of hours. If not for their excellent service, I might still be stranded. Definitely recommend them.

Lexington Autoworks is the only place I bring my vehicles for service. I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years. Steve Stoll and his team are extremely knowledgeable and honest, qualities that are hard to find these days. They work on all models and they take time to educate you on what you need to know to maintain your vehicle. I really appreciate this and I learn something new each time I come in for service! Mark and John provide excellent workmanship and they go above and beyond to help me keep my cars running great. Chris is so helpful getting me scheduled when I need to get my vehicles serviced. I had my rear struts replaced on my Lexus, they quoted me an estimate on how long the job would take, ended up taking longer but they honored their quote, I was very happy with the work and service at a great price, Chris was a pleasure to work with. I would suggest and would have my cars serviced here again.
These mechanics are very knowledgeable and honest. I know because I have taken my Subaru, Toyota, and Nissan vehicles there many times. On those occasions, they have always assessed the car thoroughly and answered my questions fully with useful insights on how to best care for my cars.
My car required complex repairs and Lexington Autoworks really came through. Excellent communication during the process of getting updates on parts and the work. Runs perfectly now and couldn’t be more pleased with their top notch work at very reasonable price. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I have been going to Japanese Autoworks for at least 10 years now. It was formally Rotary Connection but ran by the same team. Chip is a pleasure to work with and is always up front about any work needed to be done to the vehicle. I have never had a bad experience and the shop has always called me before making any repairs to my vehicles. They are professional and do very good work. If you need something done right at a fair price they should be one of your top choices for auto repairs and inspections.

Went to get my vehicle diagnosed for an issue I couldn't fix myself. They listened to what I needed and delivered exactly. They found the problem quickly and called me before doing any work to explain my options.

My mom and I were in the middle of a 16 hour drive when my check engine light came on. We contacted the shop prior to them opening and they were more than willing to accommodate us that morning. We came in and they took over. A few hours later they were able to give us a rough diagnostic and suggested we take the car to a dealership (the dealer confirmed the issue and luckily had the part on hand). Lexington Autoworks didn't even charge us! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They even called the following day to make sure we had found someone and gotten to our destination safely. Our customer service experience was AMAZING. I really can't recommend them enough. Great service.
Being a fairly decent mechanic myself I always worry about anyone fooling with my vehicle other than myself. I work 3rd shift and don't have time to do much work on my own vehicles anymore. Took my 2010 accord to these guys and never felt that my car wasn't in good hands. Had my car fixed fast and solved my issues. Great customer service and I'll definitely be taking my ride back to these guys if I have anymore issues.
I’ve been taking my Rx-7 to them for just about all your typical old jdm car problems and Steve has always been able to help. I must say this place is probably the most honest, fair priced, and friendly shop I have ever worked with and will continue to work with. They really know their stuff and are Mazda rotary certified. The customer service is above and beyond amazing and are real down to earth people not bound to some corporate recited garbage you hear when you try to get a simple oil change at a big auto chain. If you are trying to get your old jdm car back on the road, or in need of basic maintenance, definitely give them a call before you take it to a dealership.
Mike was really helpful and kind! I had a tire that was almost flat and they patched it right up and also let me know about some other issues in advance. I haven’t had the vehicle for long and Mike took pity on me and didn’t charge me for the labor or patch, it’s very heartening to meet thoughtful people when you’re struggling! I’ll definitely be back!

I went to Lexington Autoworks to have my tires rotated, and they called me to let me know that my brakes were getting very thin. They gave me a great price on having my front & rear brakes replaced, and had the work done at a fast pace. Can't say enough great things about this repair garage!
I have been going to Lexington Autoworks for the past 8-10 years. Steve Stoll is the best in the best in the business. They truly do care about their customers and treat people like family. I pulled up to their shop 10 minutes before closing, and showed them what was wrong with my car, and they stopped what they were doing to help me. In 30 minutes I was back on the road. I have taken all of my repairs to them, from minor to major repairs, and treated fairly, given free quotes, and detailed explanations of what was wrong and how they fixed it. I can't say enough about how truly effortless and easy things are with Lexington Autoworks and Mr. Stoll. Once you experience a car repair with them, you will never want to take your car anywhere else. Please give them a call for any issues with your car, you will not be disappointed!

Can't recommend this place highly enough. I had the serpentine belt and its tensioner replaced here, at a superbly reasonable cost. Steve was helpful and kind, he really made sure that I understood everything about the service and the car's current status very clearly. Kim was very friendly and she told me that their shop has been in business for 36 years (!), so that probably tells you something about reliability of their service. Another handsome gentleman technician (didn't have a chance to ask his name) was also helpful and informative. Their location is pretty awesome, too, it's in a walkable distance from the UKY campus, so it's convenient to drop off/pick up the car on a school day.
Lexington Auto Works treated me very fairly and took a lot of care in diagnosing my car. After I had heard a pop in the engine followed by white steam coming out of the hood, I had taken it to a Nissan dealership to see what was wrong. The dealership told me that the radiator was cracked and the head gasket was blown which would end up costing almost more than my car was worth.
I took it to Lexington Auto Works at the recommendation of one of my friends to get a second opinion. Steve and Mark were very thorough in their diagnosis and tried every test to see if the head gasket was indeed blown. It turns out that the only actual problem was the cracked radiator all along. They found some other small problems with my car and Steve took the time to show me what would need to happen in the future. He showed me exactly what he had found in my engine and he took some measures to make sure they didn’t turn into bigger problems until I could get them fixed later. I’ll definitely be taking my car to them from now on.
I visited Lexington Autoworks because my car was shaking. I asked them to call me back with what was wrong in the afternoon, which they did. It's was more than I was expecting and Steve helped me work though what needs to be done now vs what needs to be done soon vs what can wait. Although it took longer than expected for parts to come in, they were very polite and apologetic for the inconvenience. Later, after they repaired my car there was an is noise. Steve looked at the car within minutes of my bringing it in and reassured me that it wasn't dangerous.
Overall, I never felt like they were trying to get me to do unnecessary repairs. Even at points when I would have been prepared to get more fixed, Steve was honest and told me that it didn't need to be fixed. They were consistently kind and were happy to explain exactly what was going on with my car. I never felt taken advantage of or talked down to, despite the fact that I know almost nothing about cars! Really, if you're going to go somewhere for your car repair, this is the place to go. I would recommend it to everyone I know!

My family has been using Chip and his Japanese Autoworks company for years. Good service at a good price. There have been more than one occasion where I've come into town and needed some sort of repair work done on my vehicles. Chip has always found time to fit me in. Now that I've moved back to the area I use them exclusively.
