The workers at Blessings Abound are fantastic. They are engaging and professional. We bought a washing machine and they were so helpful. I told them they deserved at least six stars
Another thing about Blessings Abound is incredible amount of inventory they go through. In a couple of days they will turn over their stock so it's some place worth going to on a regular basis.Feb 13, 2026 -
This used to be one of my favorite places to go! But sometime within the last couple of years they have gotten absolutely out of hand with their prices. As someone who prefers to thrift rather than has to thrift, I get so upset when I see prices like this and know people who thrift as their only option of purchasing clothing will not be able to pay these prices. I know this is a brand new pair of jeans but the same pair of jeans can be purchased from the retailer, on sale at this price. Unless you're thrifting as an ethical choice (which is awesome and I love it), paying the same price in thrift as retail is not the vibe. Unfortunately, I will not be shopping here again. As a place that functions as a charitable, Christian non-profit organization I don't feel like these prices reflect that business structure or mentality.

My husband and I have been coming here for a couple years and always enjoyed finding that one treasure but lately the prices for some of the things are the same price that you can get brand new at other stores this is supposed to be a thrift store and prices are supposed to be lower but we find that the prices have become outrageous. With that being said we have decided to not come back there at all when we can go to other places and spend our money and not pay exorbitant prices for used merchandise.

The prices are ridiculously high. It’s obvious b/c the stores are so packed full and feels very overly crowded with STUFF EVERYWHERE. They would benefit from lowering prices SIGNIFICANTLY. I would purchase a lot more items if the prices weren’t so high, therefore spending more money in the long run and it would help the store not look so cluttered!

Blessings Abound is my favorite thrift store. I have found the most amazing things there! Yes, they may price their things higher than most thrift stores, but they offer high-end quality items that are clean and well taken care of. The volunteers are extremely kind and always willing to help. I don't mind paying more, considering how many charities they are able to help in the area. 5 +++ stars!!

Great place. It's always packed. They have a section for everyone. The employees are always super kind. They are reasonably priced. Huge fan.

They should be ashamed of their current pricing. It’s supposed to be a thrift store, but it’s more of a boutique store. I was there today and 95% of the prices on what I looked at literally made my jaw drop. Bags of everyday silverware for $38 for example. I used to really enjoy this place.

Not sure why this place has 5 stars.
1 star for being a thrift store by definition taking in donations and reselling items
1 star for being organized and moderately clean with the massive volume of stuff they have
-3 stars for absurd pricing, items were priced for profit. Store accessibility for those with different abilities is poor, lighting is poor.
The pricing is offensive for a thrift store for the general public and especially for those who may need to shop at a discount they are unable to obtain items at a reasonable price.
Photos are examples of overpricing. The grey baskets are from big lots circa 2023, the tag at the bottom is the blessings abound thrift price.
There are many wonderful thrift stores in KC (not including goodwill, they are also overpriced) please go to the others and save yourself time if you’re looking for reasonably priced items.Jan 12, 2026 -
Had such a huge selection of amazing items. Every single one was outrageously priced. I shop at thrift stores bc it’s what I can afford. Now I can’t seem to find one that doesn’t charge as if these are new items… I don’t know if we’ve forgotten but they got these items FOR FREE. The whole point is to help people who can’t afford to go to Walmart or target. Poor folks still deserve furniture and stuff. I literally saw a VASE for $75 when I went. Every tiny dresser was $30 + and most of them were missing parts. That’s insane to be charging so high and be called “blessings abound”. how are you blessing people when you get these products for FREE and are reselling them at retail value. I loathe this store and they deeply lack morality in my opinion.

Dropped off yet another haul at my preferred donation center. I align most with the countless things they do for the community. I’m here probably on average once a week, sometimes even twice a day. Zach, pictured, has gotten to know me and my dogs. He’s very kind, polite, friendly and a huge asset to this store on Washington St. They have 3 locations. Please consider taking your donations here.

So, there was this particular mattress I wanted! I hadn't seen a 2 sided mattress in YEARS! However, the last one was sold! I was heartbroken. A staff member by the name of Randy took down my name and number, and told me that when some came in he would give me a call in about 2 weeks. 2 weeks past.. another staff member by the name of Tre text me to say that there was none when the shipment came in. I was sad Lo and Behold! The next shipment came in and Tre text and said the mattress had arrived! I wasn't taking any chances this time, I went straight to U-haul and rented a van, drove the 40 minutes ran in looking for Randy!! Got the mattress I wanted! Big and fluffy soft with both sides available for use! They don't make these types of mattresses anymore!

Like coming to this place but one of the older female cashiers is always rude. I checked out with a woman that was on day 2 of training and she asked another lady to come over and help. The cashier that was asked to help seemed inconvenienced by it. Well we checked out and realized we didn’t have a receipt when we went back in for our piece of furniture so I went back up and asked for one on the way out, I went to the cashier that helped the lady that was training to get a receipt and she told me “she didn’t check me out” even though she personally wrapped items for me during checkout. She didn’t even try to help after that. If she’s going to be rude and not provide basic customer service, she shouldn’t be in the front.
The lady that was training is wonderful thoughDec 09, 2025 -
Reached out to Blessings Abound on Friday, September 26th for a haul-away of some decently nice living room furniture as I was moving from Kansas to Illinois & would not have any room in my U-Haul for them & we had made an appointment scheduled for the haul away on Friday, October 24th at 1:30pm (possibly arriving around 1pm) as I was moving the next day. Was never contacted the day before or the day of to let me know whether they were coming or not. Ended up having to haul it in the U-Haul after getting rid of stuff I did not want to part with just to get them moved with me. Was truly disappointed with this business. The customer service person I spoke with when making the appointment was very kind, courteous, & respectfully at least - that's why I'm giving this review 2 stars.

This place is so inconsistent with their pricing. Furniture? Amazing deals. Books? Sign me up! Clothing? Pretty reasonable. But their knick knacks (vases, dish ware, Christmas items, etc)? NO WAY. $40 vases, $20 chipped candle holders, $30 bowls. Items with the original price tag and they charge the exact same price as brand new OR MORE. Absolutely insane. Who prices these things? You get this FOR FREE. It’s at a point with thrift stores in the KC area where I’m selective where I donate. I refuse to donate to places that are so greedy. What happens when the overpriced item doesn’t sell? Do you throw it out? Because why not sell it for a REASONABLE price, and actually keep things out of landfills? I drive farther out for actual quality thrift stores that don’t charge an arm and a leg for used merchandise.
Edit to add: the site next door (the “boutique”) is priced even more ridiculously. I’ve seen $40 and $70 sweaters there. Seriously, people. Keep this in mind when donating here! Turnstyles is more worthy (in my opinion) of your donations.Nov 06, 2025 -
the most wonderful thrifting experience! Ms.Elaine is such a breath of fresh air. Customer service is a 10/10 and she was very caring with helping us out! Shout out to you girl, was even lucky enough to get picture with the girl who made us feel at home. GET THIS GIRL A RAISE

I come here all the time as a donator, and today I went for the second time as a shopper – I'm really impressed with how they price things, and the staff is just so nice. I appreciate the organized layout. Also they help so many great causes, it really is my favorite local thrift store!

The service is great, but the concern that the manager has for their customers AND their employees health is low. This specific location has Mold that is building up in the back of the building which caused my grandmother who is in her 60s to get ill. When my grandmother had spoke about the concern about the mold, they did not remove it. Neither did they get in an inspection. They still tried to force her to work in the back of the building, where the mold is still repetitively building up. So my grandmother had made the choice to leave this establishment. And what’s more concerning is the fact that all of the clothes that they are putting on the shelves have been Marinating near rat feces in the back of the building leaving more than just 2 health concerns. There is a lot of leaking issues and utility issues that are hazards that genuinely need to be addressed. I will not support this establishment and I don’t encourage anyone else to buy from this place. On top of the fact that the manager is still putting their employees in jeopardy from getting Terminal illnesses from the mold growing in the walls.

((EDIT) Just went in there today just to see what would happen. Found a set of irons and they were asking $12 a piece for clubs that needed new grips and a lot of work. I asked to talk to someome about the price and was brought to the guy who prices clubs who rudely informed me that they "sell clubs all the time" and couldnt come down on the price even after I offered what id consider a more than reasonable thrift price. All this attitude on this guy who I have been told buys the clubs himself just for his area to be an absolute mess and there being things back in that rack that have been there over a year. Save your money and avoid this place at all costs and also donate to a store that doesn't absolutely relish in ripping people off. $96 for a set of irons that will take another $60 to get playable is highway robbery and is absolutely preying on ill informed people who are trying to affordably getvinto golf by shopping at a supposed thrift store)
I frequent many local thrift stores looking for golf clubs to help friends and people getting into golf build club sets. I have given this place multiple chances to suddenly ask reasonable thrift store prices for clubs and those chances have been in vain. It is very clear that whoever prices their clubs are just putting them on the floor to eventually use their discount and get some himself. This has even been corroborated in talking to employees there. Save your money and go support a thrift store that doesn't price used clubs double to 10- 20x (yes that much more its ridiculous) what they are worth in any other thrift store that need work to be playable.Oct 04, 2025 -
Pros: somewhat organized (several clothing items mixed and in the wrong place)
Cons: VERY high prices for DONATED items, completely laughable, several employees just wandering around customer almost as if their watching shoppers - which is fine as they price used donated home decor for $150, it was literally a painting you could get at TJ Maxx. They had several packs of Walmart branded used markers for 3 times the price Walmart sells them.
This is a collectors store not a thrift store. Seriously, who sells a used crayola sandwich keeper with knife idents from who knows what year for anything more than $1?
Will not return and will warn people who want to visit. We all thought Goodwill was overpriced on donated items - these store blows that theory to smithereens.Sep 13, 2025 -
There was a lot of different stuff there and everything was organized perfectly. You can tell that the folks who work here have pride in what they do and keep things tidy as well.
I found a creepy honey jar that I didn't not purchase for fear of something terrifying happening to my soul, however I'm sure it will be a great find for somebody else, so I wish it good fortune in it's travels! I DID make some other purchases (a 2025 calendar with sparky comments and a Belgian waffle maker which I plan to use to make protein waffles).
Overall, I rate the place 10/10 but since Google deals in "star" power, I've rated it accordingly.Jul 05, 2025 -
Clean and amazing thrift shop with average prices but tons of selection for all price ranges. I was surprised to see the huge selection of furniture and there are a lot of nice clothes. Kids stuff, books, games.. and more. Everything you would expect from a thrift store. Highly recommend!!!

When I moved here from Buffalo, New York, I was concerned that there weren’t any good thrift stores because I had visited several times and never found one. I am so pleased to have found a faith filled store that gives back to the community. Not to mention the incredible selection! The volunteer/employees are second to none

A nice thrift store where you can get a lot of things for cheap if you are looking for furnitures or kitchen supplies and equipment. Then you should definitely check them out. They had so many things from clothing to house deco, quality rugs and lots of lamps. Although I didn’t really get what I was looking for, I did end up picking some items I found really cute and cheap. They did have a lot plates so that was interesting. But yeah you should definitely check them out.

This was an Amazing place. Well organized and clean. It was very busy. All ages. This is more of an UPSCALE thrift. If you are a reseller you can find great deals. Vita was my check out person- in the sweater. She was happy because it was my first time. There was sooo much designer clothing that I can’t name it- just know that you pay an average of 10%-20 of retail- great place.

Huge store with tons and tons of stuff. Unfortunately, items are overpriced and could be a reason why there is so much stuff in this store :( CDs and DVDs were reasonably priced, but the Electronics were extremely over priced. Items were spread out everywhere, for instance I found board games in multiple areas of the store. Next time I am in the area, I will give them another try as I might have visited at an off time.

The staff here are always very kind and usually helpful. There’s one lady who is always a bit short and curt, though she isn’t rude.
I am always impressed by the large variety and selection here. Every time I come there is new and different stock, so I can tell they are busy and move a lot of merchandise in and out frequently. This makes every visit feel like a treasure hunt, I never know what exciting things I’ll find! I love that they carry a lot of things that other thrift shops don’t always have, such as fabric leftovers, large rugs, wedding gowns and baby gear. I definitely recommend giving this place a look, but give yourself plenty of time to explore every nook and cranny, or you might miss out on an amazing find!May 10, 2022 -
I love this place. So much amazing stuff for extremely cheap prices! Brand new pillow top mattresses to beautiful furniture. The one thing that bothered me was I couldn't find anything that matches. No lamps, end tables or anything. Nothing matched. All in all the best thrift store I've ever found.

I was super impressed with their 2nd hand furniture options. They have about anything, in any category, but having good, clean decent (if at times awkwardly dated) furniture for low prices was nice.
