So I just got my oil changed by the Forest City Auto Center, and since it looked like the air filters needed to be changed out, I went ahead and did that too, thinking the whole thing wasn't going to cost me that much. How wrong was I... The whole thing between the oil change, parts (the 2 new air filters) & labor (plus topping off the air in my tires, which I didn't realize they charge you for that), cost me $243.84!!! They didn't tell me that it was going to cost me that much, so I nearly had a complete anxiety attack when I saw the bill. Long story short, a complete and total rip-off. That was way too much money for such simple things/services. Needless to say, I won't be doing business with them anymore.

I want to start this post off by saying that the customer service I received was fairly good at the Forest City Auto Center. However, the quality of work and communication was lacking. Originally, I took my truck in for a problem relating to a drop in oil pressure. (prior to this I knew I had O2 sensor problems, but wasn't a reason why I took my truck in) After they diagnosed the oil problem as a problem with the sensor, they recommended that I also replace my O2 sensor. This was on Monday the 10th at 10AM, (February 2025). Friday the 14th I took my truck in to get the replacement parts installed, (didn't have the proper parts Monday, which is okay.) Upon picking it up and driving it, literally less than a mile, I knew that the oil pressure problem was not resolved, but due to weather at the time I didn't want to turn around and have their employee's stuck dealing with my stuff if they needed to leave to get home safely. Today, Sunday the 16th, was the first time I actually went somewhere with the truck, and about 10 miles into my trip, my check engine light came on, upon reading it with my code scanner it showed the same O2 sensor code that I had prior to bring my truck to the shop. I spent $715.74 to have these problems fixed, and it barely lasted 10 miles before everything went wrong again. I am disappointed in the quality of service provided. Currently I am going to be reaching out Monday the 17th to the proper people at the company regarding solutions to this problem and will update this review accordingly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I would also like to add to this, I never asked for them or requested from them to replace the O2 Sensors, this was something that they did on their own accord. Secondly the quoted price originally was between $300-400 and as stated before ended up being $715.74, which, violates Iowa law, as any charge that ends up being over 10% of the quoted price must be made aware to the consumer/customer. and $315.74 is a lot more than the 10% of $400. But to their credit, the employee was not clear if that was for parts or in total.

Rusty is a great guy. Lonnie is a joke. Tried to in stall a $13000.00 engine in my 2020 Gladiator but I had it fixed in Wesley for $435.00 . Service department left screws and bolts from my brackets and broke a solenoid that I had to replace for $150.00. And returned the Jeep to me in this condition. Never going back. Forest City Chyr is a rip off. Mechanics are pitiful. I do not recommend.

Great service. I was stranded on the way to work with a bad alternator and battery. I limped into the shop (after getting a couple of jump starts from my hubby). They worked me in that afternoon, ordered parts, and I was back on the road the next day. My extended warranty covered the majority of the bill. I can't say enough about the Prichard Family businesses. From sales to parts and service, they are just great!

The service department is so much better since John took over. Although the prices are pretty high lately, that's the companies fault and not the department itself. I don't like waiting on my car anymore since the waiting area is right outside of the restrooms (Stinky) it needs to be moved back by sales.

brought truck in for new tires and oil change. found small pliers inside the truck on the passenger floor by my relay box. Brake lights worked before they took the truck, now somehow are broken and “need” there $100 kit for it to have brake lights… I’ve never had/needed that in the past. 😹 Just take your vehicle literally anywhere else, everywhere in forest city is pretty scummy, go to mason.

Scheduled an oil change and they got me in the next day. Due to my schedule, they came & picked it up from my work, changed the oil, rotated my tires, vacuumed the floor, washed the windows and had my car back to me before my lunch break! Great service! Thanks FCAC!

I never actually set foot in the dealership. I live in NY and bought a van through my company by phone, email, etc.. I flew into Iowa and they had my vehicle waiting there for me. I hopped in and drove to New York. The people I dealt with were pleasant and on time. A great experience.

Everything was great except the cost. I have been driving down from Minnesota since we purchased the car, 2016. It has become too expensive to continue doing business . The past few years has Increased to much.

If I had to drive 5 hours one way, I wouldn't hesitate. That being said, my one way trip was over two hours. The staff works very hard to get the best deal for their customers. They are VERY quick and effective at what they do! Kolby Kunkel was able to get my info and credit app taken care of in a matter of a few hours. Upon arrival I met with Eric Johson who is very amiable and genuinely a wholesome man. His customer service spoke volumes about the dealership before I met the other staff members! Buying a vehicle is the second largest purchase you will make. When the seller is so honest and genuine, there is no reason to do business anywhere else. I can without a doubt say if I'm ever in the market for a vehicle again, I will be more than willing to travel the distance for this team who drove the distance on customer service. A huge thank you to your staff, 5 stars does not do justice.

We had a breakdown with a battery issue and despite being several weeks out on service Danny and Tim were able to get us in, taken care of and on our way right away. Cannot say enough good things about the responsive service from Forest City Auto Center.

We drove our then-current RV 1,100 miles from Southern Louisiana to Northern Iowa to buy a new RV (2015 Winnebago 24J) from Lichtsinn. And we'd do it again. Starting with Nicole (sales), all the Lichtsinn people were knowledgeable, eager to help, and patient with our many, sometimes very detailed, questions. Having purchased our old RV at another dealer (in Texas) we were wary that the finance session would be onerous. But, Dan made it pleasant. He was prepared for us and meticulous in ensuring that the mound of signed paperwork was done orderly and accurately. There were NO surprises. Before finance, Nicole did the 2-hour in-service and orientation. She was thorough and organized. It wasn't like the rather haphazard, summarized afterthought we were given in Texas. All in all, we are extremely happy with our decision to buy from Lichtsinn. That and getting a brand new RV with 19 odometer miles were definitely worth the trip.

Just purchased a 2011 GMC Sierra. Brian, Ben, and Debbie all worked hard (and stayed late on a Friday!) to get me a vehicle that was filled with all the bells and whistles I could dream of. Great buying experience. Have also received amazing service from Danny on our 2008 Suburban. Lichtsinn Motors has worked hard to make me a very satisfied customer.

As a first time RV owner, everyone at Lichtsinn Motors made the buying experience wonderful. I couldn't have asked for more accommodating individuals to work with than Kelsey and Hannah. Never once did I hesitate to contact them with questions I had between the purchase and pick up. I was treated like one of the "family". I was very nervous to take it off the lot, but Brad did a great job teaching and showing me the ins and outs of my vehicle. I would not hesitate to refer my family and friends to Lichtsinn motors! Ben Larson greeted me and very patiently reviewed my needs for a new vehichle. Ben was thorough in his research as to what type of vehichle I was in need of and provided detailed answers. When we toured the lot for possible choices in my car needs, Ben provided detailed explanation of the types of GMC cars on the lot. I did choose a car that I felt suited my needs, Ben arranged for me to drive the car and provided answers to driving questions as well as tips for touring. The sales staff at Lichtsinn Motors guided me through the car buying process in a friendly and pressure-free manner from the moment I stepped onto the lot until I drove away. The process of selecting and purchasing a vehicle can be stressful and complicated, but I felt that I was treated respectfully as an individual rather than nothing more than a potential sale. I was considerably impressed by the level of courtesy throughout both the test drive and my time sitting by the desk and left feeling with a positive impression of the staff as individuals and of the business as a whole. Ben Larson, in particular, struck me as a friendly and considerate person to deal with and did not leave me with the "greasy" feeling I've gotten from other salespeople I've encountered in the past.

Just bought a 2012 Chevy Cruze from Rachel Hannam. We also delt with Debbie Bartleson for financing. Both Debbie and Rachel were very friendly, accomodating, and made sure we understood everything. We had the Cruze all set up by Lichtsinns service personal for towing behind our motorhome, inwhich we bought new two years ago from Nicole. Lichtsinn personal are all friendly and took time to make sure our needs were satisfied. We are from the Quad City area and were treaded as though we were home town customers. We would not have any problem making the 4 hour trip for continuous busness. We have had the car for less than week and both Debbie and Rachel have called making sure everything is going OK. To this day Nicole sends us e-mails on various information and making sure alls well with motorhome. If anyone out there wants to buy a motorhome or GM vehicle you better check with Lichtsinns first.

Brooke has been extremly accomidating and friendly throughout the last few months in helping me find the right car for me. They were considerate of my position as a mommy and made sure I was comfortable and able to make the purchase I wanted. Brooke even went above and beyond and offered to meet me half way home with my new car as I live nearly two hours from here. Excellent customer Service! Wow! Just purchased a 2012 Chevy Equinox AWD from Brooke Johnson! She was fantastic to work with--not pushy at all--gave us all the information that we would need and answered all of our questions. Business Manager Hannah Lunning was great to work with also--nice to be able to joke and have a little bit of fun when you'r completing paperwork....Sure hope that their boss appreciates them both!!!

Tim Olson, the Service Director at Lichtsinn helped me add an HWH leveling system to my Itasca Navion at a competitive price. They did a great job of coordinating the installation date with my schedule, and they actually had the factory do the install, so it was fast and professionally done. Based on the treatment I received from their service department, Lichtsinn will be my first call when I decide to upgrade my motorhome.

On Saturday March 10th, 2012 I was in Forest City, Iowa for a speech contest. As I was leaving the contest I stopped at Pamida for some things. Upon leaving my truck battery died and I was unable to leave. I found nothing in town was open but the owner was having some guys together at the shop for a little end of week fun. I explained my situation and not only did the owner himself and a tech put in my new battery, they only charged me cost for it. Then they insisted I drive off and they would just call me and settle the bill on Monday. Of course, all that was after they offered to feed me and play some indoor golf with them. Would I go back and recommend them to others. Duhhh!!!!

My wife found a van through Lichtsinn Motors, two days later we drove home in a newer, better model than the one we initially looked at. Brook J. helped out to an immesurable degree, and the manager proved to be incredible as well. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone and everyone!

We had been contemplating buying an RV for a couple years, and I was comfortable with the Lichtsinn team and their service. When we finally found something within our price range and available, and when we were ready, they made accommodations to welcome us even during their busy weekend when they had an exhibit show going. They didn't make it seem like it was any big deal, but they were great in actually wrapping up the deal when we were ready to purchase that same day, and they cleaned the vehicle, scheduled a walk-through, fixed a couple minor issues they themselves found and wanted to perfect, and processed all the paperwork. I'm looking forward to future business as we become more seasoned RV travelers!
